Comfortable, good value hotel

26 December 2009
Hotel was easy to find from the main road. Plenty of parking. Ideal base from which to tour the area. We has a 1 bed apartment half board. Room facilities good and heating efficient. Food was a fairly good buffet with a reasonable choice. There were not many staying when we were there but there could be noise from other guests as floors had no covering and doors not easy to shut quietly. Big shopping centre opposite which was quite handy. There was no entertainment when we stayed. Overall extremely good value.

the accomadation was fine but as we had booked a number of rooms the hotel had not actually got the rooms available for us,as in we had 2 bedroom apartments booked and paid for and they had only family rooms available-not exactly ideal for two young couples to share. it took at least an hour to get checked in and with small children it was more infuriating for us.Some of us ended up having to wait til the next day before we got the actual room we had paid for. I dont think the hotel is worth the money and it is too far out from the main resort. i booked all the rooms in january and didnt travel until august, i got confirmation of my booking which actually wasnt worth the paper it was printed on as the rooms werent available when we arrived. i wasnt impressed with this accomadtion or staff at all.

A brilliant Week

15 September 2009
Hi myself and my friend are just back from the Myamar Castle Beach hotel in Fuengirola. I has to be one of the best accomodations I have stayed in. The place is absolutely spotless with room services each day with fresh towels etc. We were on a bed and breakfast basis and the food was lovely with a wide variety, I could not fault the food in any way - We also eat one of the days at the pool bar and it was also lovely. We did not take evening meal in the hotel but from reviews from other guests in the bar that night they said it was really good. The location of the hotel is really excellent with the fav shopping centre just outside the back of the hotel with over 160 shops with all the top names. Just 10 - 15 min walk from the beach and the beautiful prom with its long and varied assortment of restaurants and bars. A really spectatular place and I will go back. The hotel also had a good kids club and entertainement if you are travelling with young children. I intend to return next year with my nine year old for a wee. Last but not least do not and I repeat not come back without having the massage at the pool - For only 10 euros for 20 mins it is to die for. Cheers have a good holiday.

great holiday

25 August 2009
Just arrived back from a stay in the myramar had a great time no complaints the apartments were fab the staff were great .The apartments were cleaned every day to a very high standard not a quick lick towels as well. The entertainment was good but i would have to say the animation team were second to none towards the children. It is a bit of a walk to the main strip and our weather was so hot it seemed longer. The centre across the road has everything you need but would have to travel longer for main meals lots of fast food outlets in the centre and a lovely chinese buffet across the road.We will go back next year for sure the pool is lovely no fighting for sun beds which can make a holiday stressful if you are up at 9 o clock to put towels down.Bar food was ok didnt try the resteraunt on site but lots of people were eating there would recommend this apartment to all my friends.

Good value break

21 August 2009
Stayed for four nights two kids aged 15 & 11, had one bed apart with pool view towels changed daily, pool area clean with plenty of sun beds (always got one) good kids club with activity's all day even joined in myself, agree with below happy hour got a bit manic, you are slightly away from main resort area but as other reviews say only 6-9 euros in a taxi , wood stay again and would recommend

Excellent for famillies

19 August 2009
Stayed first two weeks in August with our three children aged 10, 8 and 6 and could not have asked for a better place to stay. Fair bit out of the centre of town but if you have a young family the kids won't want to leave the place. We had a two bedroom apartment on the 1st floor with a pool view, very clean, air conditioned and beds made every day and towels changed. The pool itself was huge and even though at times it got busy it was never over crowded. There were two lifeguards that never took their eye off the water which was comforting if the kids fancied a dip on their own. There is a fantastic poolside bar which has two happy hours every day, my only criticism being the queueing system which could become a bit haphazzard at times and lead to a few irrate customers. Excellent kids entertainment day and night, especially the kids mini-disco which everyone was encouraged to join in. This again gave mum and dad a chance to relax knowing the kids were in safe hands. Massive shopping centre next door with a Lidl type supermarket, ideal for anyone self-catering. Also bus stop right at the front door and reception staff were only too happy to order a taxi if you needed one, average cost per journey 6-9 euro. All in all a fantastic place for famillies, would definitley recommend and will definitley return again. Cheers Myramar, c u soon.

We are an older couple ages 61 and 58. We didn't see many people of our age!We stayed at the same time as our daughter, son in law and grandchildren. The Hotel is good for young families and the daytime and evening entertainment is geared to children. The food is what you would expect to get at Burger King and the like and not the best if you have a selective diet. It is cooked, prepared and served to a good standard. The location is a 15 minute walk from the beach across busy roads and means that the hire of a vehicle is highly recommended. The staff are very friendly and Carmen on reception really helped us by enabling an upgrade to a family room for us. The studio rooms are not really much good, with no balcony or bath and the fixed shower meant that you flooded the bathroom each time it was used. Sporting facilities are basic although the indoor swimming pool and gym is really good. Overall we enjoyed the stay as we were able to find what we needed, but would have preferred to be half board, rather than self catering. David and Pamela (retired)

17 July 2009
Great hotel with fantastic facilities. Very family friendly. Our nine year old loved the kids club and evening entertainment. The pool was fantastic - both she and our baby spent hours in it! It is a ten-fifteen minute walk to the beach - my father in law found this quite a distance. If you don't mind the walk the complex is in a great position with a shopping centre and supermarket across the road. If you walk a ten minutes further out of town there is Iceland (great for baby products including food and cheap food to have in the apartment). The Aquapark is also in easy walking distance. All in all a great family chill out holiday but not in the prettiest area of Spain. If you're in Ireland, go before the UK holidays and you'll save a lot!!! We flew from the UK as well - saved a thousand euros!!!

Lovely place to stay, friendly helpful staff, spotlessly clean with great amenities. The pools are ideal for young and old alike and there was a lifeguard on duty for the duration of our stay. Very close to modern shopping centre with a big supermarket and within walking distance to the beach and centre of fuengirola. Organised daytime and evening entertainment which was enjoyable for all the family. Overall a very enjoyable stay.

We have just returned from the Myramar Castle Beach Apartments and would definitely recommend them. We stayed for 10 days with our 2 boys aged 14 and 6. The daytime and night time entertainment were brilliant for adults and children, everyone seemed to have great fun. It is a 15-20 minute walk to the centre of Fuengirola but if walking is not for you there is a bus stop right outside the door of Castle Beach. All in all we had a great holiday and will definitely be returning next year.

We stayed for 1 weak with 3 children under 5. Apts were v clean and towels changed everyday. Pool was clean and plenty of sunbeds available.Entertainment for the kids (age 4&3) was v good. Staff weren't the friendliest. Food in the restaurant buffet wasn't up to much. Overall a good stay, good for families with small children.

With just a few tweaks this 3star hotel could easily become a 4star hotel. Great value for money. The positives included:- The outside swimming pool area is lovely. The indoor pool and gym are very good. The rooms are of a good size and are cleaned every day. The towels are changed every day. The negatives:- Hotel did not supply beach towels (they do for the indoor pool) You have to wear a hat in the indoor pool. The staff could smile a little more, although some were very cheery others were not. The hairdryers in the room were naff, took me ages to dry my hair. All in all a nice hotel and I would return.

We have been twice to Myramar. Both times during the Easter period. The hotel is clean, staff friendly and helpful, and the food good. This hotel is however out of town and a fair walk into the main beach front. At least 20mins. You do however have a big shopping complex directly outside the hotel. This has lots of shops and a good multi cinema complex as well as a good supermarket. The hotel itself caters for all but we didn't go looking for entertainement. We went for a quiet family weekend break. Our teenage children were happy to swim in the large outdoor pool, or swim in the indoor pool or use the gym. This hotel is not really the place for young familes looking to relax. It is more geared to groups or families with older children. There are plenty of hotels more central in Fuengirola that cater for young families and this I would recommend over the Myramar if you're looking to relax and have your young children (5-12) entertained. However I did see that the 'children's entertainment' was on going and clearly labelled outside reception, with entertainment throughout the day. We intend to make our yearly weekend Easter shopping trips to the Costa and would always stay in the Myramar. I would also recommend getting a car. Ikea is only 15 mins up the road in Malaga (take the exit for the airport and you can't miss it)

hi all been at myramar twice now returning in june 09 if you are looking for a singalong around the campfire ,lots of holiday reps running around making noise or people falling around drunk and noisyevery night the myramar is not for you.the revamped decor which one reviewer described as cold and sterile all of our party thought was beautiful and the 2 brand new 42 inch lcd tvs with sky sports were the business.if you want 4 star accom for 3 star price the myramar is for you, outdoor pool huge ,indoor pool and gym lovely and our girls 7 and 5 loved the playground ,mini golf and paddle tennis staff are also very helpful and keep the place spotless if you find a lot of fault with the myramar you should be stumping up a grand pp p/week and staying 5 star.

lack of entertainment

11 January 2009
I have stayed here twice now. The first time it was 15-29 May perfect you could not find better, plenty of entertainment, cosy family atmosphere. apartments very nice. The second time i stayed was 13-28 May 2yrs later. Like a different place. Decor all changed inside, all chrome/cold sterile looking, there was no entertainment day or night not in season- I would have thought end of May as in season. Kids were very bored we spent all day out looking for entertainment for them. Will think twice before booking here again. Would only book if there was entertainment there.

Wow!

19 November 2008
What can I say? When we arrived at the Castle Beach Hotel in Fuengirola I thought we had been brought to the wrong place! I had never booked a hotel on the internet before, and wasn't too sure what we would find on arrival. I needen't have worried however, it was first class and very 'up market'. The foyer was large and bright with lovely crystal chandeliers and plush black leather sofas and lots of large well cared for plants. We were very impressed by the whole decor. The apartment was 2 bed self catering (we had my son and daughter in law with us) and was lovely. There was a kitchenette which had everything you could possibly need for self catering. The dining room of the complex, which you could use if you preferred, was large bright and airey, with snowey white table linen and linen table napkins - made a lovely change from paper! There were so many facilities for guests to use, two outdoor swimming pools and one indoor, pool and games room, about 10 computers which charged only 1 euro for 15 minutes, TV room, sauna, massage, crazy golf, paddle tennis and table tennis to name but a few! I could go on and on - the rooms were cleaned and all linen changed every day, and all the staff were polite and helpful. It made our holiday very special.

Beautiful and clean hotel/apts, cannot fault them on that. But the amenities on site closed early or sometimes didn't open - so you had nowhere to get treats for the kids or lunch by the pool, dispite this we loved the place and would totally recommened the place to friends.

We've just come back from Castle Beach, it was lovely. The Hotel made a mix up with our room it should have been 2 bedroom and they could only offer us one bedroom with pool view, but there was a small bed in hallway for our 4 year old, which worked out quite well as they offered us Half board as compensation. The rooms, pool and hotel were clean and the childrens entertainment was really good. Our little girl has loved it. It was nice to be a little out of Fuengirola as it get very busy of an evening, even though it was only a 20 minute walk into the town. I recommend the castle and also going Rhonda as is beautifull.

Good clean hotel

19 June 2008
Hotel was very clean and the self catering rooms were spacious. Good facilities but bar prices were a bit on the expensive side. Besides the hotel is a very good shopping centre with food outlets, supermarket and cinema. Takes about a 20 minute walk to the centre of Fuengirola along the river and then down the promenade where there are numerous shops, bars & cafes which cater for all. All in all a good place to stay - recommended

6 of us from the same course in University decided to go for a cheap holiday abroad in the sun. Myramar castle beach hotel was ideal for our holiday. The appartment served all our basic needs. Also the pool is lovely, the restaurant is nice and the beach is within realistic walking distance. We flew to malaga, caught the train to fuengirola, and got a taxi to the hotel. All easily enough. Good and Bad

18 June 2008
Overall this hotel met all our needs, but just not in the way we had planned. We had booked a two bedroomed apartment as there was 3 adults and 2 children, however on checkin we were given a one bedroomed apartment and told it was completely impossible to have a two bedroomed apartment, dispite me showing her my confirmation letter confirming a two bedroomed apartment had been booked. Having said all of this the apartment did stil have a combination of beds which meant it could sleep 6 people. It was not ideal but as we were only there for one night we did not let it worry us. The only facilities we really used as our stay was so short was the outdoor swimming pool, which was excellent, however it would be very very busy in peak holiday times, and the pool side bar. For what we needed for a one night stop if was fine and we would use if again especially now we know the bedroom set up. But just be warned if you are a large family and expecting two bedrooms for the children and a sofa bed for yourselves, this may not be what you get !!!

Excellent hotel, had two kids aged 14 and 2 and it catered for both age groups. The walk into the town was lovely. Pools were fantastic although you have to pay to use the indoor pool..and wear a swimming cap. Other than that i can't fault this hotel.

Fabulous break!

09 June 2008
Had a great time and all the renovations are clearly finished as there was entertainment for kids and adults everyday. housekeeping friendly and wonderful, very trustworthy too. Location was a short walk to beach and shopping center right next door. Bus stop right outside takes you right into town for only 90cents a person, so very accesible! We loved all of it, the apartments were a great size and very very clean. If we go back to this area of Spain we will certainly go back there again!

Great Family Hotel

01 April 2008
Loved our week there. Ideally situated Hotel we loved the walk down by the Castle across the bridge and up the beach. The shopping centre beside the hotel had everything a family required, food, clothes, fastfood outlets etc. It was only a 7.00/7.50 euro taxi ride to Church Square which was central to everything, beach, restuarants, markets. The hotel provided a buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner all very reasonably priced. It also provided entertainment for children and adults alike. The swimming pool and grounds on the hotel were beautiful and they have tennis courts and mini golf. One could not fault the cleanliness of the hotel. All in all what can I say - perfect.

lovely hotel

07 February 2008
My husband and I stayed in Castle Beach for nine days in January. The hotel is beautiful and the self catering accomodation was exactly what we were looking for. There was alot of renovation work going on while we were there which mean't there was no entertainment and the bar closed at 12pm every evening. it is a bit out of the town but it is right beside a large shopping centre and a large outdoor mall. Do not visit the Wok Chinese across the bridge unless you are looking for nasty tasteless food. the food in the hotel chanded in price every day soo go down the sea front and you will find lots of good places to eat. the rooms were cleaned and fresh towels every day. There was an indoor play area for the kids which was great when it was raining. the outdoor pool area looked beautiful even though it was closed. You had to wear a swimming cap in the indoor pool which my baby would not have kept on so we weren't able to use this facility. good value for money but would like to visit castle beach when everything is back up and running as hotel was just dead while we were there

This is a fab hotel. We stayed June 2006. There was entertainment for the kids day and night and a play area. We thought the food was good. There was a mall nearby to the right and a department store to the left, and a water park nearby. We will hopefully be visiting this year 2008

Good quality hotel- Out of town location

03 January 2008
My partner and I stayed at the Castle Beach for 5 nights-arriving on Christmas day. Hotel lobby was impressive, large and spacious and beautifully decorated for Christmas. We had a one bedroom apartment which was spacious and clean-with a large bathroom which had a bath and separate shower.Kitchen consisted of a hob, micro and fridge-fine for our needs but you couldnt really have cooked a full meal there. Balcony was huge but as were facing the back the view wasnt great (a large dusty car park!) Maid service was very good. We had breakfast in the hotel restaurant twice-it was ok, not great. Fine when your paying 3 euros each midweek but I wouldnt have paid the 8 euros each they wanted on the weekend. The weather wasnt warm enough to use the pool but the pool area looked clean and nicely presented. Location wise, the hotel is on the outskirts of Fuengirola, right next to a huge shopping mall. Its about a 25 minute walk into the centre but the walk takes you across lots of busy roads so I wouldnt particulary reccomend walking it. A taxi into the center was 6 euros. It was our first time to Fuengirola and we enjoyed it-plenty of bars and restaurants to choose from.Beach was average, nothing to write home about. We hired a car for the duration of our stay and drove to Gibraltar for a day out. The que to cross into Gibraltar was huge and it took us ages to get in an out. Prices are very cheap there-even cheaper than duty free Spanish prices. We also booked an excursion to Morrocco for the day. We booked via a local travel agent as the company the hotel uses were not running trips whilst we were there. It cost us 60 euros each, which I thought was good value considering that it included a coach to and from the port, crossing on the fast ferry, lunch when we were there and a guide. It was well organised and we enjoyed it very much. The traditonal morroccan lunch was fab- very authentic! Would reccomend it for an interesting day out. All in all, would reccomend the Castle Beach as a good quality hotel but not ideal if you want a very central hotel.

Fantastic Fuengirola :)

07 October 2007
This is a fantastic hotel. The rooms are spacious, clean and very comfortable. Only a 2minute walk to large commercial shopping centre which has a large supermarket in it. 5minute walk to Dunnes Stores. 25minute walk to the centre of Fuengirola, or €7 by taxi. Loved the heated indoor pool and would definately stay here again. This was our 15th time to go to fuengirola and this was by far the best hotel we stayed in *****

excellent break

13 September 2007
This hotel gives great value for money. We, a retired couple, took our two grandchildren for a short break and felt so secure within this complex. The children 4, 10yrs were entertained and we relaxed in the knowledge that they were well looked after. The food in the Restaraunt was fair and the aqua bar was a treat in itself and used frequently by the children who could freely go and purchase their soft drinks and ices. the rooms were very cean and serviced every day. The staff were very friedly and made you feel that you were welcome. The rooms were massive and although we were facing the new builds the noise did not bother us as the sound proofing of the windows was excellent. Certainly a hotel that I will use again and will recommend to friends and family. Carry on the good work.

very nice

11 September 2007
We were there back end of August 07 for 1 week. The hotel is beautiful and clean. Staff and cleaners were lovely and helpful. Rooms were cleaned every day. Wasn't too keen on the restaurant food, thought that was quite poor. The food at the bar was nicer. There is some building work going on around the hotel but it didn't bother us as we were up and sorted by the time they started working - considering we had our 7 month son with us. Unless you sleep all day then it shouldn't bother you. We were a bit disappointed to be facing all the work, but you would have noise if you were facing around the pool too. There is plenty for the kids to do and there are plenty of entertainers there to keep them happy.

Myramar Castle Beach

02 September 2007
This hotel is rated 3+ star and well deserves a four, we have just returned from a very enjoyable week at Castle Beach, stayed Aug 25th until Sept 1st. The pools are fab and cleaned daily as is the rest of the hotel and apartments. The entertainment staff work very hard and are on the go day and night. We had no problems with feeling safe throughout our holiday and did not see any signs of gypsies whilst crossing the foot bridge. The maid was in every day and the room was spotless the only critism i could make is that our room (5th floor overlooking the pool) was very noisey late evening, the music stops at 12am but some people stayed outside untill the early hours and could be heard singing. This was only a problem on the first night as we needed some sleep after a 12 hr delayed flight. The walk into Fuengirola is approx 15mins but in the midday sun it felt longer, a taxi was only 6.50/7 euro (well worth it). Fish Alley was worth exploring for those staying on a self catering basis, we found a chinese restraunt that had 3 courses for 5.50 euro and was fantastic. Myramar shopping centre next door to the hotel has a burger king and K.F.C as well as lots of other restraunts, cafes and clothes shops, must try the doughnut shop! Dunnes stores next door to the hotel is also worth a look with all prices in pounds and euros. Overall a fab holiday and so pleased we booked our own flights, transfers and accomodation separatly as we saved a lot of money compared to people in this hotel that had booked a package deal. Would return to this hotel and will be using Alpha Rooms again.

What a great place!

03 August 2007
Returned from Fuengirola in June 2006 and I have to say what a great place it is to stay the staff were amazing and the entertainers were second to none (we still keep in contact with them now) Pool was fantastic The Aqua Bar staff were so friendly they couldnt help you enough. As for not being able to finish your drinks there were times we were still sat there at 3am. I would strongly recommend this hotel for young families as the enclosed park and play area enable the parents to relax and the lifeguard on the pool is a big help when younger children try to get in the pool without armbands he/she will stop them. Overall fantastic holiday and would definately go again.

I was expecting the worse fter reading some reviews about this hotel but I have just got back from a 10 day holiday and we all really enjoyed it, the hotel is lovely and well equiped, 10 mins stroll to the beach and buses every 1/2 hour for 90 cents each. My kids loved the pool and there was family entertainment on every night. There was some development going on around the hotel and the price does reflect this but it did not spoil our holiday one bit as long as your aware of this then its great. On looking around the resort I could not see any hotels that looked as good as this one did and once the area has been completed it would be nice to go back and visit again.

i Realy enjoyed my stay there and hope to go back in the summer with a larger group. i just got back last night and went straight back to work and i could just not stop myself from telling all my work friends about the place. my stay was a short one but i went to the gym the sauner jaquize and a small but enjoyable time in the indoor pool. the out door pool looks to be fun in the summer and if the entertainers are the same in the summer as they are now i cant wait to pack my bags and go back for what i think is going to be an excelent summer. the quality of the rooms was excelent so large that i would go to the extream of buying one if they ever went up for sale.

23.12.06 - 01.01.07 We had stayed at this hotel over Christmas a few ago and had a wonderful time, the entertainement and the staff were excellent.  However this time the entertainment was pathetic, boring and their was no atmosphere.      The hotel is lovely but its far out from the centre (7 euros for a taxi). The food was disgraceful and had not improved in 3 years! Chrtistmas and New Year celebrations were pathetic, the bar drinks even went up to 7 euros for alcohol and 4 euros for soft drinks on New Years Eve. We won't be returning again. We made our holiday enjoyable - the hotel was a major let down.

Stayed Dec 30 till Jan 8 2007 Weather hot and sunny every day. 4 adults 2 children 8 and 13. The Hotel itself is situated a good 30 min walk to the beach, a bus ride to the town centre is just 90 cents single fare adults and children and runs about every 20 mins. The facilities at the hotel were quite good yet I can't really comment on the food as we never used the restaurant. The rooms are very spacious and clean with a good maid service, the outdoor pool was freezing cold so it was the indoor pool for us (swimming caps must be worn)The family bar was not so good, happy hour buy one get one free was a joke, you are only allowed the cheap products in plastic cups, so don't waste your time! We went into the town every night, fish ally is a must, tried most of the restaurants no complaints except for the lookie lookie men! Shopacholics will love the Myramar shopping centre right outside the hotel, lots of shops, restaurants, cinema (inc english films) the tapas bar is fantastic, help yourself to the tapas held together with toothpicks, when you are finished they count your toothpicks (don't drop any toothpicks)! We were warned about gypsy's on the foot bridge outside the hotel, no worries there, didn't see any and used it every day. Overall we had a really good holiday the hotel was good and the staff very pleasant. Oh yes, get a train from the airport, its about 20mins and costs just 1.90 then a taxi is 7 euros or 90 cents bus, however a taxi from the airport to the hotel is 30 euros.

This hotel offers excellent value for money with seperate bedroom&living room. The shopping centre is next door with 140 shops which is great for shopaholics. There is a bus service ouside hotel taking you into centre of town and beach every half hour(only 0.9 euro).Alternatively you can walk past shopping centre and visit castle where you get excellent views of town(3 euros entrance)--if you walk past castle you come to quieter part of beach which is good--you can see castle from hotel so you can find out if you want to walk-about 15minutes.
Within hotel only 12 euros for 3 course meal with wine included.
