Review of 'MONTMARTROIS (NON-PUBLISHABLE SPECIAL)'

15 October 2006
We wanted a hotel close to the Sacre Coeur and this certainly fits the bill - a short walk up the hill and there it is! Fantastic.

The hotel was a little difficult for the taxi driver to find, but after that we found it to be a really convenient location. The nearest Metro stop (Chateau Rouge) is just a few minutes walk away, and the line it is on (#4) made it very easy to explore Paris.

We'd heard that rooms in Paris are small, and the room we had was no exception. There was barely room to get in and the bathroom was tiny with a small square shower cubicle that didn't allow for much movement. Having said that, we weren't planning to spend much time there, and the bed was fine to sleep in, so it was perfect for our needs.

There were a lot of German students (15-16 years old I guess) staying at the hotel while we were there (late-September) and they were quite rowdy as you'd expect any students to be. It also meant that breakfast time was quite busy.

Breakfast is simple - a croissant each, and tea and coffee replenished as many times as you need, and some half-baguettes in a basket. One piece of jam and butter and that's your lot! If you like to eat more than this, then you need to locate one of the many lovely Patisseries in the area.

Staff were generally friendly, and the rooms were kept clean and tidy. The lifts worked fine, and if you like to climb stairs then there was a windy staircase.

If we return to Paris (on an Australian budget), there's a good chance we'd use this hotel again, because it was OK for our needs and at least we know what to expect.

Beautiful, very calmly lain hotel.     Unfortunately one put there one day for us because of alleged surbooking into another hotel (it was loud, not particularly clean and the half mechanism damaged)! Credit us on the next day weights. After the boss a little loud had these abruptly nevertheless still another room freely.

I came here with my wife for her 40th birthday surprise(18th June till 21st June 2006) and was pleased to see how clean and tidy the hotel and rooms were. The sheets and towels are changed daily and because of its location(beneath the cathedral) made it a romantic stay, The staff are very friendly and will show you where/what and how to travel around Paris(metro). If I was to visit Paris again  or tell someone where to stay it would definetely be here, because you still have the culture of Paris and the kind friendly staff to go with it.The only problem would have been if was really hot, because there is no air conditioning but you get what you pay for and this hotel was certainly value for money.

The hotel was easy to find from chateau rouge metro station. The room though small was very clean and towels & sheets were changed daily. The bathroom though was small and would be difficult for anybody over 5' 8". The hotel is situated very close to Sacre Couer and the metro system. Close by is a good family bar! I would return again when next going to Paris.

Hotel Montmartrois - once and for all

22 March 2005
I've been staying at Hotel Montmartrois three times since 2000, and I'm going to visit Hotel Montmartrois twice within a month this year (2005) and who would dare do that if you were not satisfied?
The Hotel is situated in one of the most interesting and charming areas in Paris and if you take a look from your hotelroom you might have a wonderful view at "Sacre Coeuer". This really brings you in a good humour and so does the nearby "Place du Tertre" with its painters, restaurants, life, pulse and so on.
The host at Hotel Montmartois, Maurice, is very friendly and is always in a good humour and together with the rest of his staff he will always do  his best to give you a good stay. The rooms are clean, the breakfast is excellent, the hotel has a good and quiet atmosphere, so according to all this, it's no wonder I'll come back.
