The Monopol, Puerto de la Cruz

The Monopol is a fantastic family friendly hotel set in the heart of Puerto de la Cruz. We had only ever stayed for a few days previously but this summer stayed for two weeks. The service is great and the staff are very friendly and accomodating. Its typical Canarian style of wooden balconies and internal glass atrium along with its sangria evenings make you feel like a long lost family member returing home its such a wlecoming environment. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff at this family run hotel. It is an ideal place to stay and we would no longer stay anywhere else on the Island. We are now looking forward to our next visit!

Review of 'Monopol'

Comfortable, old fashioned hotel smack bang in the middle of town. It is a beautiful building built around a charming glazed over patio. Our room was huge and pleasant but a bit dated. Good, friendly reception staff who helped create the air of relaxed calm about the place. All the facilities of El Puerto were a short stroll away. We look forward to using it again. The only problem we had was finding it through the town's fearsome oneway system. Buy a town map in advance and drive, following the signs for the Ayuntamiento; there is an underground car park there and the hotel is maybe 150 metres away.

Review of 'MONOPOL'

This is a privately owned hotel. It is situated in a very central location, but does not suffer from "traffic noise" because Calle Quintana is now pedestrianised.  The hotel is very beautiful, its hall being all wooden balconies and filled with palms and other exotic plants. Every morning, the  proprietor's wife lays new floral arrangements on the steps of the hotel, in the hall and in 'los servicios'.  The rooms are cleaned daily and the restaurant food is very good.  The staff are friendly and efficient. The proprietor sent us a bottle of wine on my birthday!  We shall stay there again.
