A little concerned after reading some previous reviews, but in our opinion this hotel was certainly much better than we expected. The food was excellent and offered a good varied choice every day, the staff were efficient and attentive.
Some public areas like reception and the downstairs all inclusive bar were a bit dated but adequate and clean. The room we had was basic 3 star but again adequate and clean, serviced to a good standard everyday.
Entertainment was provided every evening and of an acceptable standard considering the varied age groups and nationalities of the audiences.
I would highly recommend this hotel if you are looking for an All Inclusive value for money holiday, no it's not 5 star but your not paying 5 star rate.

Very friendly staffed hotel
07 May 2013
We have just returned from a weeks holiday at the Monica Isabel Beach club. We stayed in a three-star apartment which was clean and maintained everyday with fresh sheets and towels. The four-star restaurant was run by very friendly staff offering a variety of freshly cooked food for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
The complex is in need of a makeover but they offer near on five-star treatment to their guests. If you want plush, then book five-star, if you want value for money, then this complex is just the ticket.
The best thing about my stay was…
Friendliness of each and every staff member.

This is a great resort. Peace and quite where we were (A 116) apartment. The apartment are very big and very comfortable, the decor could due with a touch up but the price we payed reflects that. I could not ask for anything better then that, the beach just in the front of apartment and everything with 2 minutes walk. The staff very nice and the food fresh and lots to choose from. Lake of Entreatment for kids but with a beach just on the front of apartment is the world for the kids, our kid wants to go back. The sun was out and the weather was good. The only thing that I have not enjoyed was the pool to small.
If you want 5 stars hotel you book a 5 stars but I have booked a 3 stars apartment and I enjoyed and will return you will not be at a lost
The best thing about my stay was…
location so close to the beach

My wife and I went self catering as we normally do and found the appartment very spacious and clean, nice bathroom also clean, towels changed at regular intervals and a shower over the bath which knocked you into the ground also water was hot and it was easy to adjust the temperature.
Only complaint really was there was no kettle for morning cup of tea/coffee.
The best thing about my stay was…
The road train that took you into "Old Town"

We booked this hotel as a 4 star accommodation with the view of a good 3 star, personally I I would rate it 2 star. The location was great which is the best quality of this hotel, and the people friendly. On the down side the rooms and the entire complex need serious work to bring it up to even a 3 star, it is very run down and not much going on entertainment ways (but that could be down to the time of year), the pool is very small for the size of the complex and the sunbeds are broken and some very dirty. The food is basic (not my taste, we where all inc) but there is always something you could eat chips, bread etc. I wouldn't stay in this hotel again, but if your looking for something basic and reasonably clean in a good location then give it a go!!!!
The best thing about my stay was…
The weather was great !!!!!

Lovely resort friendly staff lovely food and the location was perfect for any type of holiday you fancied right on a fantastic beach which a lovely walk either direction would take you to the old town which was my favourite or the strip. The all inclusive is the only way to go bar in full swing from 11 til 11 :-) and the pool side bar from 9 till 7 what more do you want

Good value hotel excellent location
19 September 2012
We had a great stay at the Monica Isabel. Yes the hotel could do with a make over and a lick of paint but everywhere was clean. The room was cleaned every day and fresh towels were supplied. The staff were friendly and courteous especially the bar staff. The food was not always the best but you wouldn't go hungry. The location was excellent right on the beach and about 15 min walk to the old town which has a brilliant nightlife. Good value holiday for what we paid..well done Monica Isabel

Amazing resort in Albufeira
14 June 2012
My partner and I aged 28 stayed at the Monica Isabel Beach Club,The rooms we stayed in were very clean , bedlinen and towels changed every day. The resort was only few minutes from the beach , 10 mintues walk from old town and around 10 minutes from the strip, pool area was very clean. The staff at the resort was very helpful and friendly. Food at the hotel was reasonable we stayed all inclusive , this was worth the money we spent. I would recommend this to people of all ages as it suited everyones needs. I will be booking again next year.
The best thing about my stay was…

Second vist for us, looking forward to returning soon
24 May 2012
Ignore the bad reviews this place gets, Some people expect 5 star service for virtually nothing, This hotel is priced very very reasonably and far exceeds my expectations of a budget hotel in this price bracket.
We have just returned today from a 7 night stay here, we also stayed here last year for a week. Again we stayed all inclusive and really think the place is great value
Staff are always friendly and on hand, people who say differnt are probably some of the very rude ones that can be seen up and down the place, if you are rude to a staff member how can you expect some respect in return?
Food is quite good, not the best but very accpetable for a week or two stay, particulary at the price range. My only criticism would be the entertainment, though we enjoyed the magic show which was very entertaining.
If your looking for a cheap hotel, with great views thats right on the beach give it a try, im sure you to will be wondering what all the dodgy reviews are all about, on the other hand if your expecting a five star hotel and service to match i would advise you go elsewhere but be prepared to be paying 3 times the price..
The best thing about my stay was…
The hotels loaction is perfect, again if your realistic you will love this place...

very basic but very cheap, out of season not recomended
15 April 2012
we went out of season in march the weather was great and the staff were friendly apart from when we got to dinner at 9:10 pm and they closed at 9:30pm. we went all inclusive but the only bars open were by the pool and one in reception opened at 6pm till 9pm.
the food was bland and didnt change much chorizo sausage fish and cheap steak mostly with salad and veg. outside pool was ok plenty of spaces but the inside pool the changing room/showers were dirty and had cracked shower trays and light didint work and the jaccuzzi was covered in dead skin and fake tan, only needed a clean but no one did it. the restaurant was on the 8th floor but there was a lift.
no entertainment on as we were out of season. gypsy market was good but the jeep safari was rubbish. free wifi when it worked.
i would go back to albufeira again but not the hotel but for £112 for 2 adults all inclusive for 3 nights it was bearable.
The best thing about my stay was…
weather

Its the sister of the Auramar Hotel and very close by. We have stayed in both now and very similar. Auramar has nicer pool area but Monica has better rooms and not as many steps. We stayed all inclusive. Drinks were usual local brands. food was good and always hot and freshsnacks avaialbel around the pool during the day too. variety of accom on resort cmplex but we had one bed appt which was very spacius and clean. Allst aff vfery friendly anf helpfull. We had problem with transfer totoally unrelated to hotel but the reception staff were marvellous and sorted it out for us.
Monica Isabel is quite a large complex but easyily found our way around. ehnjoyed the stay
the walk along the beach to old town is lovely although hotel does provide a free shuttle if dont feel like the walk.
will return
