As first-timers in New York, myself and a friend didn't have a clue which hotel to pick. This one was very reasonable and the ratings were good so we went with it, and we weren't disappointed.
The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. We had a problem with the shower one day, mentioned it at the front desk on our way out and it was fixed when we got back just a couple of hours later. The room was a good size, plenty of space and the views from the 37th floor were amazing - you could see all of South Manhattan and all the way down the East River, plus great views of the Empire State Building and the Chrysler building. It was very quiet and although slightly off the beaten track, we walked to Central Park in about 25 mins and about the same to the Empire State Building. Would definitely recommend it.
