The metropol is in a good location, close to the main train station and underground and near many shops and restaurants, the bus stop to the airport is also on the other side of the road and therefore very convenient. Please note it is not near the old town. However, I found my room to be extremely outdated. I remember reading a review where someone said the décor was not nice and I chose to ignore that review as I was not there for the décor however it certainly makes a big difference as I entered the room I felt like I was transported back 40 years to when times were tough, therefore I cannot say I enjoyed my room and I now realise the décor makes a lot of difference. The balcony was covered with green netting and from my side there was nothing to look at anyway. I did like the breakfast provided as it had a lot of variety and was very nice. All in all the hotel was satisfactory as I paid £36 for one night incl b’fast, whilst I have paid less and stayed in better hotels I have also paid more and stayed in worse. NB I booked a single room so perhaps the doubles or bigger rooms may have been nicer.
