Nice Hotel, Okay staff, non existent animation team, good food although a bit repetitive, would not recomend to a family, just not enough effort to amuse kids although some shows at night which were short and sweet followed by the usual photo,s whith the kids. Would suit older couples as out of the busy area but the bus stops right outside. You get the feeling the staff just have to put up with you and dont enjoy having you as guests.

we were a party of 12 and we go to benidorm every year.  this hotel will not be on our list any more - the reception staff were very polite but that is where it stopped, the staff on the bar and in the restaurant could do with an intensive course at charm school - they were very ignorant and not at all polite. as this forms a large part of any holiday it spoiled it for us. For this reason i would not recommend it which is a shame as it is a lovely hotel and with better staff could be high on anyones list.

The Mediterraneo lived up to its 4*.  The hotel was kept very clean, at all times.  Unfortunately it rained for most of our holiday, so there was a lot of people using the lounge all day long, but you never sat down to a table with empty glasses left or overfilling ashtrays. However, the bar service was very slow, no matter what time of day. No fault to the people working behind the bar, but the fact that there was never enough staff to keep up with the queues.

The restaurant again, was kept clean. The tables were immediately cleared as you left, and the waitresses were keeping the tables cleared all the time. The food was okay, typical spanish international cuisine. Breakfast was brilliant so much choice. Not such a great choice lunch & evening.

Rooms were spotless and of a generous size.

The hotel was all that we expected - except it was much further out of the town than we expected - it is opposite the Benidorm Palace (no noise at all from the palace). However, there is a bus stop outside and a bus every 10 mins for 1 euro.

Review of 'MEDITERRANEO'

We arrived at the Meditteraneo hotel without great expectations, however we were pleasantly surprised and delighted both by the decor and the warmth generated by the welcoming reception staff who were very accommodating and allocated us a beautiful, modern room which offered us high degrees of comfort, and afforded us a prestigious view of the pool area which proved to be very enticing and attractive given the unseasonal high temperatures we experienced,as opposed to the view from the front of the hotel spoiled immeasurably by the presence of that tourist trap the benidorm palace, otherwise a beautiful mountain view would ensue, shame really!
We found the cuisine appetising and appealing, with a great deal of variety, and we never felt the need to eat out, fortunately the restaurant provided an excellent choice of sweets, and refridgerators stocked with all manner of ice-creams,yoghurts,and fresh fruits comprising melon, and other exotic choices, however as we were all-inclusive i would have to say the snack selection was woeful and on every occasion we attended the restaurant bread was not offered despite there being burgers and hotdogs there.
This was our biggest disappointment with the hotel.
the bar was well stocked however all- inclusive guest with have to make do with a second rate service as they are apparently treated with contempt,an interesting point is that I ordered a brandy and this was so weak that my wife who hates the smell commented that she could not smell a thing,i subsequently purchased a bottle of napoleon for the princely sum of five euros, and I have to say the Meds version was laughable, they do not use local brands they water down local brands beyond recognition.
The beer is acceptable, and soft drinks and a variety of cocktails are provided to all-inclusive guests.
otherwise we enjoyed our stay in the Mediterraeo, but our concerns do have to be addressed before we would recommend this hotel to Alpha guests.
Each room is equipped with a television and refidgerator, and i should imagine the air-conditioning would prove useful in high season, however a spacious balcony is provided, and an added bonus is that the glass is smoked and your privacy is protected.
The entertainment was of an unusually high standard and we were delighted that the animation team went out of their way to involve everyone in their activities.

My wife and I arrived with some friends on the 15th January 2007
on arriving at reception we were given a very  friendly and courteous welcome, all booking in and room allocation was done very speedily, we were very impressed with the service as we were very tired having made a very early 6am start from Belfast,
the staff were all very  friendly and helpful in all areas of the hotel from the restaurant to the bar staff including the maid service in the rooms,  some of our friends were fussy about food, yet we did not have any complaints during our  stay at the Mediterraneo we hope to return to this fine hotel where we enjoyed the "Craic" and entertainment and were made most welcome.
