We stayed for a week at the Mediterranean Palce as a treat for my husbands (early!) retirement. It would generally be beyond our usual budget but was worth every penny.
Although we booked only bed and breakfast, the food we had was excellent. There was a fabulous choice of all the usual breakfast fayre to be expected at this standard of hotel .. and more! I was particularly enamoured of the freshly prepared omlettes and pancakes, made to your own specification whilst you waited.
The pool area is beautiful, with plenty of sun beds and parasols. The pool towels are provided so that is one less thing to have to pack. If, like us, you enjoy spending time at the beach, this complex couldn't be better situated, as your room card opens a private gate straight onto the beach.
We upgraded on arrival to a pool view room which was an extra 12 euro per night. Since the hotel is built in a crescent shape, our balcony had the sun all day, I would say that it was worth the money, since the Mountain View, is merely hotel-speak for those rooms overlooking the road.
The rooms are probably slightly tired, but more than adequate and were spotlessly clean. The housekeeping standards are first class and the full-size bath as well as seperate shower was a definate bonus.
The public areas are vary attractive but sadly, whilst we were there, the water feature on the ground floor was not working. Entertainment is average for this type of hotel but since the Mediterranean Palace is so centrally located for some fabulous restaurants and bars, we did not feel the need to spend too much time in the hotel in the evenings.
All in all a first rate experience.
