the marsol hotel is in an ideal situation. approx. 30 mins from Girona Airport, by taxi (cost approx 50euros) seconds from the shops, bars and restaurants and opposite the beach. Perfect? well, not really. why? The town hall is a few dooirs away and the clock strikes every quarter of an hour and then chimes hourly (every hour - all 24 of them) The area is prodominately use by stag and Hen parties (from all countries) and most of the bars close around 5am. This you can cope with if you have ear-plugs but the hotel disappointed in so many ways.... The Fridge in our room wasn't working, the light works but the drinks were never cold. the taps on the sink in the bathroom leaked therefore we were constantly mopping up water with our towels. there were no plugs for the sink or the bath, ao you could only shower, although at least the water was hot. The gym consists of 1 x exercise Bike, 1 x weight-machine and 1 x stepper - all of which were rusted and probably dangerous. The Pool (what pool) the extra large bath was a metre deep and four metres long, and dirty, the sun-loungers (all six of them) were dirty and rusty and yuck, and then there's the restaurant, great if you want toast and cereal for breakfast and soup for dinner as these were acceptable, the rest of the food was of poor quality, poor choice and never hot, not even warm it was always cold. We paid for half-board in a four star hotel. we had bed and breakfast in a two star hotel. It was very disappointing.
The best thing about my stay was…

Very enjoyable stay, great service, clean, comfortable room with great views of the lovely coastal scenery.
01 March 2011
Book a room with balcony facing the beach, well worth paying the little extra. Room clean and bed a comfy kingsize double. Ensuite well stocked and roomy.
Half board great value but food variable. Breakfast fine, always lots of fresh fruit, salads and veg but main courses buffet in the evening never seemed to stay hot even at first serving.
Reception, housekeeping and waitress service excellent.
Off season quiet but rooms may not be soundproof enough busy periods.
Would defunitely stay again.
The best thing about my stay was…
Clean. comfy room with beach views and friendly service.

For the price a good hotel
13 January 2011
This hotel is well located within Lloret (on the other side of the road to the beach) and has good facilities including a swimming pool and sauna. The hotel is clean and tidy throughout with a good level of decor and staff are all friendly. The only downside would be the food. I stayed half board and for the price we paid the food was acceptable but by its nature it was repetitive and some of the food was not very well labelled so it was hard to see what it actually was. However we all found enough to keep us going so perhaps for the price that is all you should expect.
The best thing about my stay was…
The rooms

Good hotel, great location!
27 September 2007
The Marsol is a very nice and friendly hotel. Most of the guests seemed to be Russian or Eastern European. You may or may not feel comfortable with this. We liked the cultural diversity. Great location. Bedrooms are very clean and comfortable. The only rooms that have a balcony are the seaview rooms and I recommend paying the extra for these. Good Catalan style menu although dinner isn't served til 8pm. Would definitely stay at the Hotel Marsol again.

The Marsol staff were very welcoming and hospitable. Great location. Bedrooms are very comfortable. The only rooms that have a balcony are the seaview rooms and would book those next time. Good choice of menu. However, the food was not kept on adequate hotplates and therefore was lukewarm or cold. That was the only complaint. Free carpark about 100 yrds from the Hotel. Would definitely recommend the Hotel Marsol.

Review of 'MARSOL'10TH ANNIVERSARY BREAK
07 January 2007
WE STAYED AT THE MARSOL IN NOVEMBER 2006,IT WAS SPOTLESS AND VERY CENTRAL.THE STAFF WERE SUPERB,THE ROOMS WERE LOVELY AND CLEAN AND WELL MAINTAINED.THE BUFFET BREAKFAST AND EVENING MEAL WAS GREAT ALLOT OF CHOICE,AND FIRST CLASS SERVICE.THE LIFT WAS ALWAYS AVAILABLE .THE MINI BAR WAS OF GREAT FIRST HAND HELP TO US FOR JUICE,AND KEEPING OUR OWN PURCHASES COOL. I RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL TO EVERYONE WITH OR WITHOUT CHILDREN AS THEY CATERED FOR EVERYONE.I LEFT MY SUN GLASSES IN THE RESTAURANT AFTER BREAKFAST,I THOUGHT I HAD LOST THEM BUT THE STAFF RETAINED THEM UNTIL I RETURNED FROM THE SHOPS 3 HOURS LATER.FOR THE TIME OF YEAR WE WENT,THE WEATHER WAS GREAT THE RESORT WAS QUIET ,THE SHOPPING WAS GREAT AND THE ODD BRITISH BAR OPENED IN THE EVENING WAS GREAT FUN,GOT A TATTOO TWO LANES AWAY FROM HOTEL,VERY THOROUGH AND FAIR WITH THE PRICE,HIGHLY RECOMMEND. THE HOTEL HAD GREAT VIEWS AND LOCATION FOR TAXI THERE AND BACK WAS GREAT.WILL DEFINATELY GO BACK IN THE FUTURE.ENJOYXXX

Good location wright on the beach. Rooms clean and well presented. Food was to a high standard with a varied choice to suit all the family. There are cheaper hotels available but in the case of the Marsol having stayed in several hotels in lloret, its worth that little extra we paid. When we return to lloret later this year, it will be my first choice so make it yours!

My friend and I have just returned from Lloret de Mar staying at the Marsol Hotel. We booked hald board and were not impressed with the evening meal. The breakfast was great. I would stay again but only bed and breakfast. The location of this hotel is one of the best in Lloret - right on the front.
The staff in the hotel were all very friendly. We booked the sauna for an hour and thoroughly enjoyed it. The heated pool is on the top floor and in the summer the roof opens up to the skies!!!!
We had a room situated on the side of the hotel and there was still a sea view. The room was perfectly adequate and a well stocked mini bar was there with fair prices to tempt you to actually use it!!!!
Parking is a bit of a problem with meters on the front but to be in such a prominent position in the resort, we expected it to be a little difficult.
All in all a very enjoyable stay and we would definitely return.

i have stayed in the marsol three times and find this hotel very confortable. the room is very good and the hotel is quiet and more suitable for couples of any age. ideally sited on the front where you can find plenty of bars and eateries. the hotel staff are friendly and you know what they say "you only get what you pay for" that goes for the food also which i found to be very good offering a choice of up to 5 main dishes. this hotel misses out on the 5 rating as there is no entertainment and the indoor pool on the roof of the hotel is quite basic, with no outside pool.

This is a good hotel with comfortable accommodation and very handy for the beach. The service is good and the meals are excellent. You will get butter with your toast and the cafe bar serves excellent coffee. The indoor heated swimming pool is handy if you like a dip without swimming in the sea. Staff are friendly and helpful. I always enjoy staying at the Marsol.
