This is a magnificent old hotel which has become a little shabby. The guests were mainly German and Spanish. Our room was fine with a balcony and a lovely view of the church with the mountains beyond. The food was unimaginative but plentiful. The roof terrace gives an all round view of the harbour, the sea and the lido as well as the mountains. Between the front of the hotel and the pedestrianised street is a terrace with nightly entertainment making it a popular spot for an evening's relaxation. Needs just a little refurbishment and better use of the wonderful reception area.

Our first impression of the hotel wasn't good.We were given the keys to a dingy little room in a part of the hotel where they were doing work on the toilet.As you can imagine there was a strange smell so we asked to be moved which wasn't a problem.We were moved to the front which smelt normal.I have to be honest and say that the rooms are in dire need of renovation.Even though it is an old hotel the rooms have no character at all and feel more like a dss bedsit.On the positive side though the food was good and the waiting staff were efficient.Maybe it's worth putting up with the horrible beds for the positives.The location could not be better right in the middle of the town with great views.It also had very relaxing terraces pretty much all around the hotel where you could sunbathe in peace and quiet...
