I had a fantastic stay here with my boyfriend. The location is fantastic as you are right on the beach. Staff very helpful. A fabulous 4 star quality hotel. Would visit again for sure!

pity about the towels
12 January 2008
super one bedroomed appartment. Friendly staff. Food acceptable, but got a bit samey after 3 weeks. Isloated, but we knew that before we came. Local bus from outside the hotel was very reliable, Entertainment poor. Good singer, but she was on 6 nights a week, together with bingo 6 nights a week. The worst bit was the disgusting towels. They were thin, holey and non cotton - they absorbed no moisture. I complained and was told management was awarre of the problem and had ardered new ones. My remedy was to take the towels back to reception every day and demand "decent" towels. Eventually they got the message. We spent Christmas and New year there. The reps knew about the towels but did nothing about them. Had it not been for the towels I would have given the hotel a 4 rating.

Good value
03 November 2007
We had half term week in October at the Marinas De Nerja, and for what we paid (under £600 half board for a family of 4 in a two bedroom apartment) it was very acceptable. Friendly staff, nice pool, nice location right on the beach. The food was fine for me, but we had a couple of veggies in the party who struggled for choice a little but to be fair most other hotels I've stayed in in Spain are exactly the same. The only negative I had was that we had a ground floor apartment, and the french windows to the patio area were completely insecure - if you lifted the patio door up from the outside it unlocked which is something my 11 year old daughter discovered! We reported this to reception, but nothing was done. I thought that the 4 star designation was probably a bit generous, as while the communal areas (pool, location, reception, spa, restaurant, bar etc) were ok the apartments themselves felt more like 3 star. But overall, we all liked the area, liked the hotel, and we'd certainly go back again.

Review of 'MARINAS DE NERJA'
12 April 2007
Visited at the beginning of April 07, the Marinas de Nerja on the outskirts of the town is just far enough out to be problematic for families with young children or for the elderly who would require taxis. There is a great walk along the beach to town but beware as the lights are not on at night when they are needed. Our 2 bed apartment took the 5 of us but the rooms were quite small, the twin beds were head to head to fit in and in the double, the bedside table had to be moved to open drawers. Twice during our week long stay we had torn sheets. Superbly clean though with good facilities - microwave, toaster, coffeemaker but no kettle. TV with UK channels. Did not try the restaurant but it looked nice(Buffet). Tennis court reasonable at 12 euros per hour. Plenty of parking spaces. Pool and gardens immaculate and well maintained. Plenty of sunbeds and space to relax.

An excellent family hotel, right on the beach and a short taxi ride from the centre of Nerja (only 5 euros), excellent shoe and handbag shops for the ladies. The apartments were clean and comfortable with the bonus of a daily maid service and clean towels every day. The food was brilliant with different themes eg Chinese, Spanish, Italian every other day. Entertainment was brilliant with a mini disco for the kids, bingo which they became addicted to and a brilliant flamenco show. The hotel staff were efficient and friendly and even arranged a day trip to the Alhambra in Granada for us which was well worth a visit. Definitely value for money.

Excellent hotel, service is good. Good sized rooms, cleaned every day. Good sized pool and kids pool (Beach is not great). Breakfast buffet was nice with a good choice of food.
The only thing I can take away from this hotel is that there is nothing around the hotel ie shops, village etc but you can take a taxi to Nerja town for only €5.
Enjoy...

Good quality hotel 3/4 hour from Malaga Airport. Entertainment for adults and children - family atmosphere. About a mile out of Nerja - walking distance along the beach. Mountain sunrises. Local attractions include; The Moorish Castle at Salobrena, Nirja Caves, Ancient Castle at Frigiliana and a huge shopping mall 15 minuts on E-15 towards Malaga. Also about 1 hour from Mijas on E-15.

Review of 'MARINAS DE NERJA'
19 June 2006
Hotel and accomodation was excellent. The food was good and the apartment was first class. We enjoyed the pool area but we were a bit disappointed by the children's club. The children were only ever given colouring in and found it boring so needless to say only attended on a couple of occasions. We thought Nerja was a beautiful place but we were glad we had a car as it was a good 20 minute walk to get there. We would definately recommend this hotel.

Review of 'MARINAS DE NERJA'
02 May 2006
We got a low cost flight down to Granada, hired a car for 6 days and stayed at the Marinas at the end of April. Things could not have run more smoothly. I cannot fault the 4* Marinas in any way. The staff were very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The walk into town is around 20-25 minutes but is a nice walk along the track to the rear of the beach. Most times however we took a taxi for 5 euro's which never took more than 3 or 4 minutes to arrive after being ordered by reception. Another alternative is the bus which was generally on time and only 1 euro / person. I cannot comment on the meals as we were on a self catering basis but the facilities in the rooms were above average. The pool area is very attractive and it was never a problem getting a sunbed at any time of day even though the hotel was busy. It is probably helped by the fact that there are many beds available in the grassed area between the hotel and beach. The beach is a bit disappointing but the pool more than makes up for that. Nerja is a great place to visit. Very Spanish, not tacky at all, with many good and attractive restaurants around the resort centre which is mainly pedestrianised. All the restaurants we tried were good but a favourite pre meal bar of mine was the "Terraza" down the alley in the main square next to the church. Great views and not overcharged.

We had a fantastic time at the Marinas de Nerja Aparthotel. The rooms were spacious and very clean, the public rooms were pleasant and attractive, the staff were informative and helpful. The food in the dining room did not look very appetising, we were self catering and ate out for most meals. There are loads ofbars and restaurants in Nerja .It is a pleasant walk along the beach track to the town centre and only 5 euros back in a taxi. I would recommend a trip to Frigiliana, it is easy to take a taxi (about 5 miles) and enjoy a glass of local wine with dinner overlooking the coastline.

Accomodation, Public Areas and location excellent. The only minus is the "dining room". It was organised chaos, help was hard to find, no one could spare a minute to explain the routine quite tiresome after a long day travelling. The dining room had zero ambiance which I would expect with a 4* hotel.

Review of 'MARINAS DE NERJA'
23 November 2005
My Fiancé and myself are getting married in the MARINAS DE NERJA next year, we went over last Saturday 19thof November 05 until 22nd of November 05 so we could meet our wedding planner and view the hotel.
The 4 star hotel is beautiful, when you walk into the reception area, it is all marble and very spacious, the two receptions were very friendly, explaining the locations of the, shop,Gym,spa, resturant and bar and the different times they opened for dinner and breakfast.
The pool area is amazing, you have a huge pool to swim in, the sun beds are free and about 10 yards away you have the beach.
The Hotel is kept immaculate and all the staff are very friendly and helpful.
The hotel rooms are very spacious and again immaculate, the room is cleaned everyday and we went for halfbord and found this great value for money.
We are looking forward to going back for our wedding.

Review of 'MARINAS DE NERJA'
23 November 2005
We found this aparthotel a most pleasant location for a short winter break on the Costa Del Sol.
We had hired a car from Malaga Airport but found accessing the motorwy network rather obscure and finished up driving through the city. We did get some instructions for the route to the hotel off the internet but found these rather unhelpful and although we found Nerja OK we had to ask for directions to the Apartments.
The aparthotel is located about a kilometre east of Nerja but there is a pleasant'ish walk along the beach road to the town. Having a hire car was convenient for visits to the town but the road network is a bit confusing.
We booked a one bedroomed apartment on B&B terms and found the rooms well maintained and clean and we found the maid service to be fairly thorough and reliable. The breakfast bar was well stocked and included a wide range of options but probably would get a bit boring for a long stay. We had diner at the hotel twice and again the buffet was fairly varied and well stocked, he price at 18 euros per person seemed quite reasonable but again we felt would probably become rather predicatble for a long stay. Entertainment was low key but on occasion unitentionally very amusing. Look elsewhere for the clubbing scene or lively evenings. Not surprisingly for November many of the guests were elderly.
Nerja looks a very pleasant place for somewhat more mature people to spend a holiday it retains a Spanish feel albeit that there are many Brits living there. We would go again to both resort and hotel.

Review of 'MARINAS DE NERJA'
26 September 2005
We have just returned from our 4 day break at Marinas de Nerja. I cannot fault this 4* Aparthotel. We arrived very late due to a late flight and long delay in getting our hire car. The receptionist was brilliant, he checked us in efficiently and went to the dining room to get us some cold food which was very welcome as we had had nothing to eat. The pool and beach area are wonderful with free use of sunbeds and beach towels in both areas. We have stayed here before and have no hesitation in recommending this hotel and have indeed done so to our family. The studio/apartment rooms are very clean and have enough facilities (microwave, hob, fridge) all immaculately clean. The only thing on the minus side is the price of drinks in the bars if you are on B and B basis, this can prove a bit expensive but I would consider having Fully Inclusive another time as this must be better value all round. We will be returning again some time. I was sorry to leave.

We too were a little apprehensive having read an old review of this hotel, however the place was very clean and modern, the staff helpful and courteous, and the food varied and delicious (and plentiful). The rooms are well appointed - having all the usual conveniences plus microwave, fridge and electric hob.All in all an excellent place to stay, our only gripe being the lack of night time entertainment for somewhere out of town.Would definitely stay there again.

Review of 'MARINAS DE NERJA'

We had a great holiday at this hotel despite feeling nervous after reading the previous review on this site. Accommadation is excellent , clean and spacious as well as being recently and tastefully redecorated. We found that the staff were very efficient and helpful and the food was fist class with something for everyone even the most fussy! The swimming pool was well maintained and how refreshing to find a hotel who actually enforced the no prior booking of sunbeds!Yes the hotel is outside the centre of Nerja but it does clearly state this on the site. I found it a top 4 star hotel. Where does the previous reviewer get his wrong information about it being only 3 star? There is an official spanish tourist board sign outside the front door stating 4 star Playa (beach) hotel. I would highly recommend this accommadation.

Review of 'MARINAS DE NERJA'
25 March 2005
Hotel OK, but the service was bad, all new staff. Location very good, except bus services don't operate most of the time, so taxi bills of 5 Euros have been cumulated. Food OK, but could be better. Hotel is sold as four stars, but actually is only three stars. Do not ever book when local but friendly people are on vaccation, you will be overrun by children and parents who do not necessarily like the tourist, most of the time for good reasons. The way some tourist are behaving is a shame for their home country, therefore no wonder, the local people are having problems in being friendly, although they actually are very friendly.
