Excellent
13 October 2008
There were 5 of us staying at this hotel for a wedding and the place was amazing! the view from our room was of the marina which was gorgeous at sunset. We stayed in a two room suite which was clean at all times and certainly big enough for 4 people. The hotel pool is also superb and we spent many a restful hour just lazing around with a brilliant view of the sea. I will defo be coming back to this hotel in the future, well worth going to if you are heading to peurto rico

Marina Suites, Puerto Rico
03 September 2008
Returned at the weekend from Marina Suites and have to say it's probably the best accommodation we've stayed in so far. The place is immaculate. The cleaners came every day and we found all the staff very friendly and helpful. Views from our balcony overlooking the harbour and absolutely gorgeous. They're a bit fussy in reception as they don't like the men walking in with no shirts, but I can understand why.
The pool area is well kept and really lovely. Only problem being the usual - all the beds being taken by about 8am! Even though it tells you not to hold the beds, there were still towels lying on empty beds right up till 6pm when the pool closed. Though we didn't want to have to do this, we had no choice as we wanted to spend time at the pool every day. However, did find that if you waited until lunchtime several people would go then and beds came available.
One more thing, the lifts weren't big enough. On departure days it was impossible to get a lift.
Only other thing was the entertainment. Not enough of it. We didn't eat breakfast or dinner at the hotel, but the food at the pool bar was good during the day. The place right outside hotel was great for just a drink or a full English breakfast! The people in there were really lovely. They even gave us a bottle of wine before we left! Taj Palace across the main road is excellent too. Great Chinese buffets in the Town Centre (5 min taxi ride) for under €6 and €3.50 for children!
Would highly recommend the Marina Suites and would definitely go again.

Enjoyable Holiday.
27 May 2008
Me and my family returned from staying at the Marina Suits Hotel last Monday after spending two weeks their, lovely holiday, rooms were very spacious and very clean and i like a high standard especiallly with children. Price were very excessive at the hotel especially at the pool bar, and at the bar at the hotel in the reception area, and we found it difficult to get sun beds around the pool, all reserved at 8am when the pool door's opened, mostly by the British i have to say. The biggest problem was no evening entertainment for the children so we had to get in taxi's every night to go to town, town was too far to walk with a 4 year old on foot, not as close to everything as expected though in a grand pretty location, view from our balcony was excellent, the pretty harbour, the bar across from the hotel had regular music entertainment so we always sat out and listerned to that very relaxing. Would stay again, would be more prepared with money next time. Ooops nearly forgot - some of the reception staff were a bit slow into attending to you, it was like "hello i am standing here you know" , sunbed towels were excellent, clean fresh towels everytime.

fantastic
27 April 2008
i just got back from marina suites yesterday and thought id do this review before going back to work, the hotel is fantastic the rooms are great very clean tidied everyday by lovely people the pool area is amazing it looks sraight out over the sea.I had read before we went that the pool area was manic but when we were there it was fine we went self catering and the rooms had fridge, microwave, toaster 2 rings everything you need really.the one small thing we didnt like was the prices in the bar but that was easy sorted we went out and there are loads to choose from and for everones budget.there is a fantastic eating place just outside the hotel doors it looks like a shack but the three gentlemen that work there are great its cheap and cheerfull great food and all glasses come out of a freezer so when its nearly 40 degree its perfect we ate there the day we left as we wernt being picked up till 6pm and had no meal on flight but as it was so hot we didnt want to walk far.i will definatly go back to marina suites.

Diappointed
14 April 2008
Stayed in Marina Suites at Easter of this year. There were 5 of us staying in 2 apartments. The third person sharing was greatly disadvantaged as there was nowhere to hang or store clothes, also the noise from the fridge ment very disturbed sleep. The hotel is lovely, views from room v. nice indeed, clean, v. spacious and staff were friendly enough, especially the cleaning staff - they were really friendly.
The position of the hotel is great for nightlife, restaurants, bars and beach.
The only probem we had with the Marina Suites was the pool area - it is totally inadequate for the size of the hotel, guests are squeezed in like sardines in a tin. Not enough beds and certainly not enough umbrellas - some of them were in v bad condition. The queue for the sunbeds starts around 7AM.To see grown adults run and race each other is pathetic. We don't get up before 7am to go to work and I am certainly not going to start when on holiday - so for the pool situation alone
none of us would ever go back to Marina Suites it was disgraceful and that was not the fault of the Hotel. Though if the sign says "pool opens 8AM" should the management not adhere to that rule.

Lovely Marina Suites
06 February 2008
Have just returned from a fabulous week at the Marina Suites. We stayed in a larger Suite on floor seven and the views were fabulous. The Pool area is just amazing with plenty of beds but we're not sure if this would be the case in the Summer season.Cleaning was carried out by staff continuously even the sun beds were washed every morning before residents arrived down. All of the staff were very friendly. We did not eat at the hotel as there are so many beautiful restaurants within walking distance around the Marina,(Oscars, Taj Palace, and the Greek Restaurant at the El Greco complex were particularly good)however I did have a snack at the pool bar this was just ok. We did look into the restaurant one night to see what food was served it was a buffet style dinner and there appeared to be a lot of choice, but this just did not appeal to us. We are looking forward to our next stay at Marina Suites as we will definately go back.

IDYLLIC HOLIDAY HOTEL
20 November 2007
All the good things the previous reviewers have written about Marina Suites is true in our opinion. We have just returned and would highly recommend it. We were a little apprehensive before we went, not having stayed there before and hoping that the accommodation would be OK. We needn't have worried - it exceeded our expectations.

Marina Suites - Gran Canaria
17 October 2007
Hi, only got back from marina suites 2 weeks ago its such a brilliant place the rooms are fabulous you have everything you need in there, cleaners are in there everyday tidying up for you, very polite staff, well at least some anyway. we also enjoyed the pool area where we could sit everyday untill about 5pm you have a resturant open during the day so you could also have your lunch or any snacks or drinks you would like. Must say sunbeds where a bit of a pain though we had to get there early in the morning to save our sunbeds due to so many people staying at the hotel, as the problem with the hotel is it always seems to be busy due to over bookings, i must mention aswell that they can be strict on you with what you wear around the reception and was abit fussy about what you did in the reception area, apart from that we had a brilliant time there i would like to go back there in a few years on the same floor because the view we had was just out of this world. We did really enjoy ourselves apart from the slight problems.

Fabulous
21 August 2007
My husband and 11 year old daughter stayed at the Marina Suites from the 30th July-13th August, 07 with some friends and there two children. The rooms are beautifully spacious and are cleaned every day. I can't fault its location, everything about the Marina Suites is lovely. The children enjoyed the kids club and the pool which is gorgeous and overlooks the Atlantic. Fab would definitely visit again.

Marina Suites
27 June 2007
In our party of 3, 19 year old girls, we went with the expectation of having a 'ok' holiday. However it was everything that we could have wanted. The apartment at marina suites which we where staying in was absoluatly fantastic, very clean and well presented, with a view from the balcony to die for! All the staff where very friendly, helpful and able to speak quite-excellent english. The town center itself offered lovely resturants and bars, in close proximaty. Would definitely recommend it as one of the 'better' places to stay!

Marina Suites - Puerto Rico
24 June 2007
The room we were allocated was absolutely wonderful. We were fortunate to be in a suite - the views were stunning. The name gives a clue it is next to a working marina - work starts early. The facilities in the room were very good although it would have been helpful to have an information booklet of services available in the room - all well and good having a DVD player would have been helpful to know that there are DVDs available from reception. The bar area is adequate except at weekends when there are some many late flights - not enough space for clients awaiting airport transport. Staff very helpful and friendly. I concur with the problem over reserving of sun loungers - it a problem everywhere. The breakfast for a four star establishment was adequate if not a bit disappointing. It is to be hoped that when the season is busier more staff are used to keep bufffet stations refillled, however, waiting staff were very attentive.
Puerto Rico has plenty to offer for those who enjoy good cuisine we never had wha we consider a bad meal duirng our two weeks - as is typical you are hassled if you go to the large centres - after all they all serve 'the best food'.
We booked a exursion to Las Palmas - NOT GOOD VALUE - cost 34 euros each - included poor tour guide - trip round Columbus museum (Free admission!), boat trip round port complex, otherwise you are left with 4 hours approx of free time. Much cheaper to use service bus.
Well worth visiting dunes at Maspalomas
In conclusion would return to the Marina Suites.

Lovely first class quality hotel, with great views. Our bedroom was the best we have stayed in at Gran Canary - being both superbly equipped, modern and peaceful. The pool is rather busy at peak times, but all in all there's nothing to complain about. Definitely worth a visit.

03 April 2007
Marina Suites was in a lovely position overlooking the harbour. We had a good holiday, the place was very clean and still had that feel of being new. Staff were very friendly and always on hand to help. If you are thinking of booking the Marina Suites dont hesitate you will have a good time and the only suggestion I can make is when booking request a high floor so you can enjoy the views and watch the sun set over the marina.

Review of 'Marina Suites Puerto Rico'
13 March 2007
We stayed at the Marina Suites aparthotel from 5th-12th March 2007. This was our second visit (the first in 2005 when it was newly opened) We were not disappointed. It is a great hotel with excellent rooms and furnishings. Reception staff were helpful and polite. Rooms were very quiet with no noise from adjacent rooms. I had requested a room high up overlooking the marina and we were accommodated on the 6th floor with a balcony overlooking the marina and harbour. Spectacular at night to see the lights in the resort. The infinity pool (heated which is unusual in the resort) overlooks the sea. The bar is a little uninspiring but there is a very nice cocktail bar at the Portonovo Hotel (Cacatua?)a short walk away. We hired a car for the week from Record at Las Palmas airport. The scenery in the mountains is stunning with good roads (if very winding!) so please spend some time exploring the island. Excellent routes are the road inland from Mogan via the reservoirs, windmill and to Roque Bentaiga (drive up to the Interpretation Centre and climb up the short trail); another to Santa Lucia lake and La Fortaleza - breathtaking scenery with amazing history. Buy the 2007 Rough Guide to Gran Canaria for very helpful information.

Excellent aparthotel - high standard of accommodation in a nice location. Walking on the flat into the main areas of Puerto Rico - renovatioin work taking place at the marina next door - taking down sheds to improve view from hotel should only last a few weeks. Well worth a visit.

Review of 'Marina Suites Puerto Rico'
29 November 2006
The accomodation is superb. Try an apartment on executive level, where bathrobes, slippers and a DVD player are provided for only 5 euros a day extra, per apartment, on top of the standard apartment rate. Infinity pool and gardens are excellent.Location is ideal, close to several good restaurants, right out of the hotel,300yds, through tunnel, near Netto supermarket. Or try Don Quixotes nearby, or, the excellent Oscars around the other side of the Harbour(10minute walk)but it is best to book in advance for these two. You will not be disappointed. Also, close to local hectic night life if needed (10 minute walk)

Excellent modern hotel in a prime location on the new marina. Far enough away from the main Commercial Center to be quiet at night but still just a 10 minute walk away. Some good restaurants close by (particularly Don Quioxtes - book a table in advance). Rooms are large, clean and modern.
