NOISY LOCATION. 40+ not your scene!!
14 August 2008
Having stayed in 3, 4 & 5 star hotels throughout the world. This hotel is certainly NOT a 4 star hotel! More like 3star. Luckily we only booked for 2 nights. The location is good only if you like to be kept awake EVERY night till 6am. The meals were good but the rooms are very poor especially if you are in 201, 301...up to 1701 as these do not have a bacony, are very small and have no pool view. The bedding was ripped, room was a not clean, dirty floors and bad air con!!!
The facilities require upgrading again.
Prices within the hotel are reasonable for drinks etc. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND.

Short Break
23 June 2008
This hotel was very clean and the rooms are very spacious. The food is good but not much selection for children in the evening. Breakfast is great. There are a lot of spanish use this hotel but are pleasant. I would use this hotel again.

Girly Break
14 April 2008
The rooms are very spacious and clean and the Hotel is friendly. Steff are very helpful and it is a great location for a weekend break with friends as its right on the doorstep of all the entertainment and close to the beach. Food is as expected and there was always something for everyone at the buffet. There are a lot of spanish use the hotel but most are nice and pleasant. I have been here three times in the last two years and will definately book again.

Marina review
05 February 2008
I would not call this a four stat hotel, staff were helpfull and friendly. The food was ok but nothing to shout about not enough verity ok if you were spanish. No drinks with the evening meal but you could buy water or wine if you wished. The rooms cleaned every day. advert stated saterlite tv only trouble was that you could only get eurosport or sky news in english, asked reception if this could be upgraded, answer was no but they could lend us a DVD player. Had a gym and steam room on the top floor of hotel but this was at an extra cost if you wished to use it.

magic marina
31 January 2008
needed a short break, chose the marina as our parents did some 20 years ago.we were not disappointed.
from the time we arrived the staff were polite and helpfull, the room spacious and clean with good facilities.
the restaurant was bright and clean with a good selection of hot and cold foods of good quality.
for the evening a good choice of entertainment ,singing and dancing, with a relaxed atmosphere.
the pool area was superb, and the pool looked very inviting but in may or june not january.
the hotel is idealy situated for the beach, shops and bars of which there are many.
the area surrounding the hotel is mainly british and can be busy in the summer, but ideal at this time of year for the people who require rest and relaxation.
all in all a excellent short break we realy enjoyed it.

MOBILITY PERSON
02 January 2008
I have just got back from this hotel which I have found has gone down hill since 4 years ago, I think this is the only hotel in benidorm which charge mobility people £3.00 per night to charge thier scooters up, unless you hire a scooter from them then they don't charge, I did not go a lot on the food.

RETIRED MOBILITY
01 January 2008
This hotel is badly run done for food wise after staying there 3 years ago. I would not class this a 4*hotel, also the hotel is charging £3,00 per night to charge a mobility scooter battery up and not charging if you hire a scooter from the hotel.

Very Good
24 December 2007
Ideally situated for beach, clubs and shops. We were given a quad room with 2 seperate bedrooms and it was perfect.
Cannot fault the hotel, the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff and the cleanliness of the place.
Just one complaint and that was the food. There is no way it was 4 star food. Very limited choice of main meal especiallly for children and the dessert was very very poor. Choice of small cake or rice pudding most nights.
Would stay there agin though.

loverly hotel,pity about the food!!
18 December 2007
My wife and i stayed at the Marina for one week :- 8 till 15 Dec.This is the third time we have been to this hotel, this time things have changed for the worse, the food is not up to its normal quality and the service ( restrant)was bad,the plates were not removed from the table untill mael had ended. The waiters etc.,seemed to do what they liked, there was no one telling them what to do,this would not have happened before as the head waiter would have sorted them out.Other than this the hotel is fine.

Best
24 May 2007
just come back after a 7 day break first time to the Marina 16th to the 23rd May, found it to be one of the best in Benidorm, true the food may be not to the liking of the English but there was always somthing to eat.
Everything was of 1st class, the pool had ample beds, which - by the way - we did not find any with defects.

A party of twelve of us stayed at the Marina in feb 2007. The hotel in a great location for entertainment. Rooms and public areas good, staff always polite, had a brilliant holiday, but the food was terrible we had to eat out most of the time this hotel should be rated a three star not four.

Very nice hotel and help full staff, room top notch, cleaned daily with fresh towels and toiletries.Food very good excellent choice My only downside was we had a few really bad weather days and it would have been nice to watch a film or something but they only cover sky news and sky sports in english. If they had made a small charge for this i would have paid it. If they had covered more tv channels i would have marked it 5

We have stayed at The Marina 4 times and will be staying there again in the nesr future, it is
situated centrally for the shops, beach and nightlife. The hotel is spotlessly clean with spacious rooms. The downfalls are, allthough the food is good it is very repetative, also there are no locks on the balcony doors which can be a safety problem if you have young children. Apart from those two points everything else is fine.

The hotel was very clean and tidy and food OK, however it is not a hotel for anyone with young English people as it is mainly catered for old Spanish couples. It is also a problem at weekends as it as weddings on saturdays and communions on Sundays where they take over the hotel. They also let locals come into the pool at weekends and can be a problem as they do not care about who owns what, or safety of your children.

Review of 'MARINA'
17 May 2006
Stayed at the Marina 13 May - 16 May 2006. 2 travellers late 30s. Read other reviews and seemed OK.
LOCATION --------
Right in the heart of the 'English Quarter'. Not overly noisy after midnight, most bars closed their doors to reduce noise levels, which was a nice touch.
2 streets from centre of Lavante beach so again loads of bars and restaurants to choose from.
No parking at hotel itself but a garage is available 400m or so up the hill - signs caused some initial confusion as assumed they were directing us to hotel!! Also beware of the 1 way system as if you do take a wrong turn it can take ages to get back to the right place.
ACCOMMODATION -------------
Due to a clerical error in the booking we were initially allocated a double room - 2 blokes - which raised a few smiles from reception staff. After getting to 1st room we realised the problem and were given another room with twin beds immediately. Staff spoke excellent English and were both helpful and pleasant to deal with. Room was a pool view with small balcony which included 2 chairs and a table.
Room was clean and well appointed. Lots of marble in the room (as well as all over the rest of the hotel giving an impression of grandeur and a bonus of keeping things cool too). Beds were adequate, but a bit firm. TV in room worked Ok with channels in several languages. Mini fridge was a bonus too, prices of drinks were €2 for water/ coke and €5 for a small beer - only use if really desperate!! No lock on balcony door but that may have just been our room and not an issue as over looked the pool area. Air conditioning was good so could keep door closed to drown out any noise but stay cool at night. Beds changed/made daily.
Complimentary items in bathroom - shower gel, cap, soap and shoe shine. Towels were a bit rough but clean and changed if placed in bath.
Lots of accessibility enhancements for the infirm or older guests. Bath had handrail, ramps everywhere for wheelchairs and scooters (which were available to rent). The majority of guests were in the older bracket and hotel seemed to be geared up for their needs. Not really a good base for the younger (18 - 30) traveller.
Loads of chairs and loungers by the moderate pool along with large high quality parasols. Plenty of sun during the day - a bit noisy as right next to a main road so try to get a bed near the pool bar :-)

MARINA HOTEL PLAYA LEVANTE
16 May 2006
Hotel location is good.... once you can find it. Although marketed as a 4* hotel, I would definitely contradict this rating.... more a 3* plus (maybe). Rooms are spacious, clean and contain 2 queen size beds which is quite a novelty. However, food in the restaurant is average to say the least, speciality chef can only manage to cook 1 order at a time, thus be prepared to wait even for a fried egg !!!.. unless your Spanish. Majority of staff at the hotel were uninterested in the guests...... it would have been great to see a few more of them smile atleast. On the positive side, we had a great maid who kept the room spotless and was always pleasant. Pool was reasonably clean, although considering the average age of the guests, access in and out of the pool was not easy as the steps had been set too low. Great hotel if your into ballroom dancing etc as that was the main entertainment event every evening following dinner. Management take note.... 4* hotels are more than just an impressive exterior.... check out whats on offer in a 4* Tenerife hotel. Would I go back to this hotel......don't think so unless it was a fantastic bargain or on recommendation it had improved.

Stayed at Marina 4 days April 2006. Hotel very clean and tidy, size was a bit intimidating, we were put on 7th floor, but had no trouble getting the lift, unlike previous hotels we have stayed in. Food was very good, plenty of choice, but unfortunately we found the organisation of dining room poor and had to search for some time for a vacant table on all meals. Staff on reception were ok, polite, but didn't do more than they had to! The Marina is in an excellent position for nightlife, hence we would definitely stay there again but NOT in the main season because of the amount of people there, we'd never get a table or lift then!

We are an elderly couple(in years but not in mind) and were celebrating a birthday and wedding anniversary together with our daughter and son-in-law. If one leaves this hotel unhappy it will not be the fault of the Staff - in all areas they were efficient and friendly. The choice, amount and quality of food in the buffet-style restaurant was excellent and being able to choose between Lunch and Dinner on a Half-Board reservation is a bonus. The entertainment is repetetive but is in the main designed to be undisturbing background background to sociable drinking. This appears to be very much a multi-national hotel and whereas queueing is the norm among the British - particularly the elder generation - it is not the case with many other nationalities. Indeed for the live-and-let Spanish a gathering of people is another social occasion! A polite word will solve any problem. Despite all the positive attributes our stay was not enjoyable due to an all-pervading smell of drains or sewers for the whole four days!!

Booked another hassle free hotel with alpha rooms.Stayed at the Hotel Marina in the centre of Benidorm 5 minutes walk from anywhere you wish to go to. Rooms are cleaned every day. Food is excellent and you have five different choices every day, every meal. You can have freshly cooked omelettes for breakfast and freshly cooked meat at the carvery. Bar prices are exactly the same as bar prices in the surrounding area. A 75cl bottle of Valencian wine at dinner was 3.50 euros and if you didn't finish it at meal times you can put your name on it and the hotel will keep it chilled for your next meal. Entertainment is designed for the elderly guests, however, all Benidorm's entertainment is close by. Andy's bar is only next door and Fawlty Tower's bingo is not far away in the Calle de Londres. Go for a walk to the old town, after a lovely breakfast, and stop for a rest at Dominoes for a quiet drink, cup or tea, and have a chat with Del and send the kids to play the internet. Dominoes is at the Carre San Miguel open from midday, (look for the farmacia on the main street in the old town and turn left.

The hotel was great, nice clean rooms, excellent restaurant and bar staff, nothing was too much trouble for anyone. I requested a room on a lower floor as I was travelling with my elderly mother-in-law and we were given a very spacious room on the first floor, absolutely excellent. The only thing we felt let the place down a little were the resident duo singers in the bar, they sang the same songs every evening and just about the same time, a little bit repetitive. Other than that faultless.

We have visited Benidorm at least once a year along with our usual main holiday we normally tend to visit in the "out of season period" October - April, We booked the Marina Hotel through Alpha Rooms and found it very easy and on checking to the hotel every thing was very streamlined !! when we visited out daoughter was just 3 yrs so therefore we are even more fussy on hygene and food served. the food in the Marina was excellent out of the 12 days we were there we were only served chips once and considering we were full board we found this excellend (no chips and burgers) all the meals were good well thought out food and we would say to a very high standard we found some people moaning about the food because there was no fast food type of things just proper english and spanish meals every roast meat was served every night with a huge variety of vegetables along with local spanish dished for the english to try out, the rooms were spotless the views were excellent from any of the balconies and the staff were extremely helpful the only thing we would say was on an evening the entertainment was that good that even if you were in early and got a good seat as we did so our daughter could see once the show started the spanish picked up their chairs pushed passed you and put their chairs right in front of you which was very rude and upset the english / other guests every night so be aware!! the location was also slap bang in the middle of everything - overall though I would definately go back

Lovely Hotel
06 November 2005
We stayed at the Marina 25th octber for 1 week. On arriving we were pleasantly surprised as they had laid on a buffet meal for us because we were late arriving added together with a delay. The Marina was a really clean and well run hotel, We found the staff very pleasant indeed. The room we had was two rooms which was very nice as it gave both us and our teenage daughter privacy. The maid came every day with lovely fluffy white towels replaced each time. The food was good for hotel food there was plenty of variety and choice. Situated right in the heart of the town and clubs went suprisingly quiet at 2am. We would definitely return to the Marina cant wait to rebook. We booked through Alpharooms was so unbelievably easy and without any snags.

14 October 2005
We travelled to the Marina with a group of friends. On arrival the receptionists were very friendly and efficient and we were in our rooms in no time. The rooms allocated were all very different, some had balconies some didn't. All were very well equipped with telephone, air conditioning, hair dryer, safety deposit box, television (not much choice of channels) etc, and had plenty of wardrobe and drawer space. We stayed bed & breakfast which was ok, but we heard the evening meals were sometimes not very good. All the staff, waiters, cleaners, bar staff were all really helpful and very friendly. The Marina is in a great location, very good for the beach, new town & old town and all the night life you could ever want. We all had a great time and would go back again on our next trip to Benidorm.
