The hotel is OK. Very friendly. Good breakfast. But the streets around the hotel are horrible.

Location: Very convenient for a short stay. Approx. 300 metres from Omonia Square Metro and 100 metres from the bus stop for the 51 bus to Kifissus bus station. Ideal for access to public transport to explore the city. We were able to walk to the Acropolis in about half an hour. The immediate area may look a little intimidating at first - a bit like Soho in London. But we walked about at all hours with no problems at all. Loads of local shops, bars and restaurants.

Reception: Efficient and friendly. Two lifts to all rooms.

Other facilities: No bar, but the hotel is surrounded by bars! The dining room was a little disappointing. Transparant plastic tableclothes. Breakfast was uninspiring and buffet style. Bread, cake, jam, yoghurt (I think!), cheese, cold meats, cereal, juice and weak coffee.

Rooms: We booked three singles. We received two twin rooms and a double, which was good. All had private bath or shower. The TV seemed to be satellite, but I could only find CNN News. One of the rooms was only just big enough for the twin beds pushed together. The other rooms were a good size.

Overall the Marina was good and well priced for a city centre hotel. But it was a little let down by it's breakfast.

We arrived late at night, then the rain came down so we were very thankful for a small eating place opposite the hotel. Although our room was a little dark, no large window for light, it was a reasonable size especially considering the price we paid. The room was clean with clean towels each day and had air conditioning. We were also very thankful for the lift. We had a fridge but it didn't stay on when the key wasn't in the slot.  The continental breafast was excellent with cereal, eggs, a large selection of meats and cheese, breads and great greek yoghurt. Juice, tea and coffee as well. The kitchen staff continually topped up all the containers and quickly cleaned tables after use. We were there when there was a very large number of visitors and food was plentiful. The hotel also had a drink machine with cold drinks for 70 cents very reasonable.
All staff were friendly and the hotel was close to attractions and/or transport. We enjoy walking especially after the great "breakfast" so were very happy with the location.
We would recommend this hotel if your looking for a clean and friendly hotel at a good price for Athens.

The hotel entrance is light and bright, with light cream marble floors and walls. The room was quite large and comfortable for the price we paid.
The continental breakfast had a good selection of meats and the Greek yogurt was fresh and had a thick consistency.
The staff all spoke english very well, and assisted us on the best way to see the sights in Athens and the Greek islands.
Would recommend this hotel to family and friends.
