Weekend Break

We had a great time at this hotel! The staff were friendly and hard working and we wree made to feel welcome from the start. The pool area was superb and the link to the beach a real bonus. The entertainment was adequate and suitable for all tastes. Our daughter loved the mini disco. We would go again

This must rate as the best hotel I have stayed at in southern Europe.  The staff were really friendly and welcoming.  The food, especially the breakfast, smelt and tasted of freshness.  Will definitely stay here again, even if it is not the nearest hotel to my work location.

Review of the Stunning 'MARBELLA PLAYA'

25 July 2006
This hotel was 100% child friendly, rooms were a chalet in a typical spanish village setting complete with village square and a church bell. With small patio, surrounded in lush gorgeous gardens with fruit trees everywhere. Pleasent & private. The food was of a high standard for buffet type meals, rooms well designed lots of hanging space with lots of hangers (regular travellers will appreciate this) Beach bar a delight for that coffee and congac watching the world go by. The sea was shallow for some distance so the kids were safe. The staff were extremely good and we had a really relaxing time, lots of pool beds no non-sense with towles being placed to'save a bed ' as there were more than enough. ( the hotel was full whilst we were there. Bar prices very fair, cheaper than the city in most cases. You need a car to go out as the hotel is situated 6Km from the town with little inbetween.Truely a family hotel. Entertainment nightly passes the time away before bed. We will return

Nice hotel with good facilities right on the beach. We stayed in one of the little houses which was great - clean, airconditioned and quiet at night.

The hotel is right on the beach. Beautiful clean safe beach. We stayed B&B and food was great. The hotel is 7kn outside Marbella so you need a hire car, taxi (€15) or bus (€1) to get in and out. The hotel runs a complimentary bus service during the day.

Review of 'MARBELLA PLAYA'

15 June 2006
Great hotel for families and for a quiet place, beach and the sea, food (unlike Turkey Kemer Resort for instance, it's tough to get a hotel in Spain that offers All Inclusive, but this one does). 2 double size big beds combined into one which gives plenty of room for kids (and kids are free of charge). Rooms are clean, but have paid safe for €30 per week (separate charge)! Plenty of in-hotel entertainment during the day(!) - darts contests, arch, gun shooting, table tennis (no big tennis though), mini-golf contests and free play, big ground chess, kids playground, water slides, etc. What really pissed me off is cocktails! They've got pina colada "pre-prepared" in advance in used bottles of juice, not even made with a shaker!! And it's only 2 types of them, no crushed ice, no margaritas!! And you PAY for that €5 each. You also pay for drinks (including juice and TEA! during lunch and dinner if you're on a full board).

The hotel has 70% of more or less eldery people from 50 onwards! So do not expect rich entertainment. I'm 29, my wife is 28, and although it's a very good quiet place to relax with the kid, it is still quite boring to be in such a different strata of society. Their directors should focus their advertising to attract more younger families. But it's a still very great clean and relaxing place.

Beach is a good granular sand, funny thing is the entrance to the water is shallow for quite a bit - it leaves

plenty of room for the kids to play with water, but some walk for adults before you can actually swim without touching the sea bed with your knees. Overall the beach is clean , but you pay for the use of on-the-beach umbrellas + bed every day.
Our kid was so amused by the excellent mini-disco, that we had to purchase a CD with the mini-disco music they turn on for 20+ kids of the age 3-6 yrs.

Hotel has very clean individual bungalows unless you get a suite in the main building. Food is diverse - fish, beef, pork, even different pancakes selection every day. More salads and deserts though would be a suggestion. Birthday party for someone is free.
