Leanne's Hen Do - Bella July 2008

29 July 2008
Hotel was ideal! Great value for money, really clean, air conditioned and polite and friendly staff. Location was ideal, 2 minutes from the beach front and 5 minutes in a taxi to Peurto Banus. Would definately recommend it. Only negative if being picky is that the pool area is in shade by 5pm, but apart from that excellent!

Great value hotel, reasonable price, a little old in the decor but clean and tidy. I'd stay there again. Don 't go there expecting the Ritz, it's not like that at all but if you are looking for a reasonable no-frills hotel, situated in the middle of Marbella then its worth a look.

Clean,Friendly,Good value, superb position near beach and old town. Rooms big and very clean with comfy beds and nice kitchen area. Decor in rooms could do with updating. Only complaint was the breakfast coffee- it's the worst I've ever tasted!!! All in all very good value for money, would certainly stay here again.

This hotel was excellent value for money. Perfect location, very near to beach and old town. Room was a great size, really comfortable bed. We stayed in a brilliant room (505) which had a lovely baloncy with views of the sea to the left and the mountains to the right. The sun also shone strongly into the room and balcony all afternoon and evening. Rooms were spotless, with lovely bathrooms and towels. Reception was friendly. Pool was small but the beach is so close. Would highly recommend this hotel as is great value for money.

Review of 'Marbella el Faro Inn'

Our decision to stay at the El Faro Inn was largely based on the comments we read on this very page, and the hotel lived up to our expectations. The price suggests that this is not going to be a luxury establishment so we did not expect anything fancy, but the room was a very good size, the kitchen area, bathroom and furnishings were basic but clean and well maintained and the staff were very friendly all being able to speak a reasonable standard of englishInitially we were given a twin room despite havng booked a double, but this was quickly rectified when we asked. It does seem however that they have a shortage of double rooms and the reception did comment that bookings they recive from  travel operators do not always state what accomodation has been requested so beware. We always found a parking spot on one of the local streets although it was definite benefit having a small car. All in all, excellent value for money.

Review of 'Marbella el Faro Inn'

15 October 2006
The location of the hotel is excellent, being 2 minutes from the beach & harbour area, & 5 minutes from "Orange Square" & its associated bars restaurants & shops. The Hotel is situated in a residential area, but within the surrounding Streets there are many interesting bars & restaurants catering for any food choice requirements, with three Tapas bars adjacent to the Hotel itself offering good fun, but not intrusively noisy. At the bottom of the street is fantastic cycle shop with a full range of equipment to keep two wheelers entertained for a good while.

The Hotel it self is an excellent base for a holiday, the rooms are large comfortable & clean, & the en suite facilities run very efficiently. The staff are helpful, some with better English than others. The complementary breakfast is a simple "do it your self" continental offer, which suited us, but may be disappointing to some visitors. There are three issues which we would draw attention too, no hair dryers in the rooms, but these are available on request at  reception on short loans, safety deposit boxes in the rooms are charged at 2.5 Euros per day, & we were let down with a supposidly "pre ordered" taxi to the airport, having to wait for an alternative to arrive.

The main coast Rd is approx 200 metres away, from where local buses can be caught to Peurta Banus & several other "local" destinations. The Main Bus Station is a 25 minute walk "up hill" at the back of the town for the airport & "longer" trips, our holiday in October coincided with the introduction of the "winter" timetable which is "limited" & restrictive.

Overall its not the Ritz, but its a well run, excellent value hotel, with an excellent location. We hope to return again next year with some friends, having now gained "the knowledge".

We had such a great time staying here in July 2006. The accomodation was all we needed and staying in marbella is great, sooo spanish and away from all the tourist nastiness is benelmadena etc. The hotel was really clean and the air con. was such a bonus. We were surrounded by lovely places to buy fresh bread in the mornings and the walk along the beach was so peaceful and enjoyable any time of day. It was only 10 euros in a taxi to banus if you fancy something a little more lively. the hotel is in a PERFECT location right in between the main street with all the shops you could want and the beach with GREAT resaurants. Make sure you try "Da Brunos" either on Marbella high street or on the sea front, it has the BEST service and great food. For the price I can't praise El Faro enough. We have already booked to go back for Christmas!!

We were three persons in a one bedroom apartment.  AC in both rooms made it easyer to sleep good at night. Wonderful location and no noise from the building aerea at the back (because only two persons were working there). Would definately stay there again if we come back to Marbella.

Review of 'Marbella el Faro Inn'

The El Faro Inn is a wonderful place to stay!  My friend and I stayed in May and liked it so much that we returned at the end of September.  The Hotel is ideally situated and is just 5 mins walk to the beach, the staff of the hotel are very friendly and helpful especially on reception where nothing is too much troub for them booking taxis etc.  The hotel itself is very clean and the rooms are lovely, on leaving we filled in the review card and gave 10 out of 10 for all the questions asked the only thing that lets the hotel down slightly is the breakfast, which consisted of toast, chocolate pastries or croissants, we felt that if there had been ham and cheese and maybe boiled eggs it would have been much better because if you are staying there for over a week toast everyday is very repetative and we felt that it only catered for certain people.  Getting your breakfast also takes time and you have to queue most days at the grill for the toast which we found very slow, maybe if they could have had two grills and two coffee/tea machines things would have been much easier and a quicker flow.  Other than that we could not fault the hotel in anyway and willdefinately be returning in May.  The hotel is ideally situated for the beach and getting to places like Puerto Benuse, just a short taxi or bus ride away and very reasonably priced.  I would advise anyone to try this hotel for a very enjoyable holiday.  Roll on next May!

The hotels is clean, the staff are very pleasent, the lifts are fast. My wife did not like the beds as they were singles and she found them hard - I thought they were fine. The Aircon worked very well.
Our room was at the back of the hotel and the view was of a building site but as no work appears to be going on it was not a problem.
The best thing about the hotel is the location. 200 yds to a beach and 400 to the old town with much Restaurants and bars.
There are bars and good restaurants in the same street - the best restaurant that we visited is 50 yards down the street.
Would go again but I would ask for a room facing the street.

Review of 'MARBELLA EL FARO INN'

03 July 2006
Nice hotel in a good central location. Beach and main bars are 5 min. walk, Marbella Old Town is 10-15 min. walk. The hotel is situated in the shopping area so is very quiet at night.

Room was clean, although the furniture was a little shabby, view was also not great. Breakfast can be safely missed. Nice swimming pool.

Main downside is parking, although there is a car park nearby which costs 17 euros per day. It is possible to street park, but it takes time to find a space!

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Despite the negative points, the hotel offers great value for money and is in a good location. I would happily recommend this hotel.

We stayed in El Faro Inn for a long weekend in May.  We found the Hotel very clean, convenient to everything, pubs, shops and beach.  The beach was as the other reviews said and only minutes away from the hotel.  Breakfast was very disappointing as there was hardly any choice to be made and no ham, cheese or eggs on the menu.

Puerto Benus was well worth a visit and only cost €10 for a taxi there.  Night life not to be missed!  We enjoyed our weekend so much we will be returning to El Faro Inn in late September.  Great value for money.

Hotel was very clean and tidy - the towels were changed every day if requested. The staff were extremely friendly and spoke excellent english - which was a great help on our holiday! There was a building site outside but no work was going on so there was no noise disruption at the time. The hotel is 2 minutes walk from the beach and there are plently of lovely restaurants nearby. I would recomend this hotel and would stay again if I returned to Marbella.

The El Faro Inn is in a superb value for money location in the heart of Marbella.  It is 5 minutes walk from the beach, shops, the main promenade and bars/restaurants.  The hotel itself has basic facilities, but is very clean and the rooms are spacious with air con/ fridges / tv / telephone and balcony.  The staff are very friendly and helpful.  I will definately be returning and would recommend this hotel to people without a car that want to explore the city itself.

16 April 2006
The hotel location was unbeatable for the price we paid, literally a two minute walk to the beach and ten minutes to old town.
Rooms were pretty basic but spacious and immacutely clean, the bathroom in particular was very modern and had a very powerful shower.
The only downside was the view from the balcony,we overlooked the pool, which in itself is very nice, but it is a building site behind, not sure what was going on but it looked an eyesore and constuction workers started pretty early, around 8am.
But i would definately recommend this hotel, and i will stay here again if i revisit Marbella.

The EL Faro Inn is a clean & tidy small aparthotel both close to the sea front & also convenient for the old town, shops, restaurants & bars. The rooms are pleasantly decorated and spacious. What I like about this hotel most is the way the staff go about their business in a friendly "no fuss" way. Check in & out is quick & easy and the hotel seems to be well known by all Marbella taxi firms, a lift to and from the bus station costing less than 5 Euros. If you are looking for straightforward decent no frills accommodation in a central location then the EL Faro Inn is just the job.

Rooms very clean and comfortable and cleaned everyday with towels replaced etc.  Quite a few signs up now saying where hotel is (off of main road opp Burger King).  Couldn't of asked for a better location as right near beach and shops.  Staff are friendly.  Puerto Banus worth a visit (8.20) in taxi.  Very quiet time of year for night life (go to Puerto Banus) but had a lovely few days break.  Would use same hotel without hesitaton if went back again.

Review of 'MARBELLA EL FARO INN'

21 October 2005
My two friends and I stayed at El Faro in June 2005. Our holiday here was wonderful; the room was very clean indeed with fresh towels each day. Despite the pool being built outside our room, this didn't spoil our stay at all.  The work to the pool and garden area was happening extremely quickly and we intend to return next year to see how it looks, as it will be fabulous! The staff here were very friendly and took great care of us. The beach, lovely bars and restaurants were just around the corner, so we were in perfect spot - nice and peaceful, yet just a few mins away from everything you need.
Also, we had air con and a modern, secure safe in the room so this was great.
Value for money...unbeatable!
We will be returning very soon to check out the new pool bar!  Thank you for a lovely stay.

We were four men on a golfing holiday. The hotel is a little difficult to find, although we drove straight there more by luck than judgement and is signposted. Although we booked 4 single rooms we each had a large room with small kitchen and fridge,Tv and balcony which overlooked the quiet road to the front. The room was clean and maintained daily. The swimming pool looked very nice although we popped to the beach which is only a 2 minute stroll away. Very well situated for either the beach, restaurant or shopping areas.

Apartments El Faro

16 September 2005
September 9th – the Builders have finished their holidays now and have decided to join in ours! Our room was at the back so we had an excellent view of the site – which was surprisingly enjoyable – there's loads to see going on upon the site and the surrounding roads and apartments. The noise isn't too bad apart from the occasional clunk from the pickup truck which must have echoed around for miles.
The pool is finished now and is lovely  – shades over by 4 0' clock so watch out for that.
The apartment was ideal, very clean with an adequate balcony and included a fridge which was an unexpected bonus.
The rooms at the back get the sun in the morning.
Apartments El Faro are only 100 metres from the beach and there's a minimarket just 30m down the road for essentials.
Also down the road and on the left is Avenida Antonig Belon which, like the rest of Marbella, contains bars and restaurants aplenty – but take time out at Antonio's bar. He’s a real gentleman with a wide range of cocktails and the highest quality draft beer in the area.

We stayed at the el Faro Inn at the end of our travels around Spain and Portugal for some much needed R&R.  The hotel provided the perfect base for just the stop.

The (brand new) pool is lovely (although the sun goes from 4 pm onwards!) the facilities are clean and the room was very large with a great balcony and sea views.

Breakfast was good and plentiful even if the coffee could be used as floor cleaner....

Review of 'MARBELLA EL FARO INN'

01 August 2005
We had booked an apartment because of having 2 small children. Because of the price (£54.00 per night) I had envisaged one room with us all crammed in but we were all very pleasantly surprised.  We had 2 rooms; one with a double bed and the sitting room which was huge (even with twin beds).  Our room was at the back of the hotel and very quiet, however, when we drew back the curtains we were overlooking an empty space with cranes.  These were not noisy and did not in anyway cause us problems.  There was a pool and terrace area next to the bar.

The rooms were very clean and there were plenty of towels, 2 televisions and a small kitchenette.  The breakfast was simple but very fresh (croissant, bread, jam, juice and tea or coffee) just what we needed.

The hotel is situated in a nice part of Marbella within easy reach of the Old Town and the beach and within a minute's walk of an excellent ice cream parlour!

The El Faro Inn offers very good value for money for a short stay.  However, our room needed air conditioning if we were to stay much longer.

Review of 'MARBELLA EL FARO INN'

05 July 2005
I stayed at the El faro hotel June 2005.  The rooms are basic but extremely clean.  Towels are changed every day if required.  There is a basic kitchen with hobs and a fridge (no oven).  I found fridge really useful.  I am used to a pool and this was being built at the time I stayed, which I think is needed.  I would suggest a pool view once this is built as the side I was on was on a road (although it was not a busy road). Orange square is around a 15 minute walk which is really pretty.  I notice on previous reviews the hotel is hard to find.  I think the hotel has observed the comments and is now signposted, although I did not want to take a chance and got a taxi.  The downside is the walls are very thin so if you have noisy neighbours you can hear them!
