This hotel was a good find very well located, Didnt use half board facility by our choice as we like to eat out at different places. But all the other hotel facilities were great air con room clean towels changed daily, staff very helpful. seems an excellent 2 star gem.

What a great hotel, friendly staff, good food, fabulous views (although friends had better views on the 7th floor). Recommend to anyone.

This hotel is ideally located for beach, shops and within walking distance of the lively bars/clubs. Staff are really friendly and the rooms are clean and comfortable. Would thoroughly recommend this hotel as great value for money and location.

Would give this hotel 10/10 just for the staff but do not go for ground floor they all have bars on the windows and are very very small you feel like your in prison and the view is of a narrow road not nice. Pay the extra for sea view it is well worth it and the balconys have a fab view. The rooms are bigger and you can get chairs out there. The food was very nice, plenty to choose from but the mash is a no no. We went for new year and would stop there again if I had balcony, spanish were very nice and a good time was had by all.
Gala meal was out of this world. Taxi rank just down road and a cafe that serves pg tips. Go for sea view you will not be disappointed

Probably the best budget hotel in Benidorm, especially the sea view rooms. If it had a pool it would definitely be 4 star.

Although only a 2-star hotel, the Mar Blau offered excellent value for money. The staff were very polite and friendly - we had the pleasant surprise on arrival of a free upgrade to a sea-view room. Highly recommended!! The location is perfect for us, on the edge of the old town with its tapas bars and the harbour and elche park. The room was spotlessly clean,as was the rest of the hotel. Great shower with plenty of hot water. The food wasn't gourmet, but perfectly adequate. Parking Saturday afternoon-Monday morning is free in Benidorm, so we were able to park outside the hotel, but there is a drop-off bay when this isn't possible.
A lovely weekend break. We would certainly book with 'alpharooms' at the Mar Blau again.

Hi im a 48 year old crossdresser & arrived at the hotel Mar Blau in female mode, the receptionist was courteous with me & the same for the rest of the staff. I was made most wecomw during my stay, especially since somedays i was in male mode & all the staff treated me the same way. This showed me the excellence in the staff training by making my stay most enjoyable & relaxing. I would most certainly recommend the Mar Blau to my freinds & i am hoping to stay agian with you next year. The food was well prepared & presented during my stay with you & to an high standard. The room was clean & tidy (room 704) & well prepared with all the features i required. The hotel was very well positioned by been near the harbour & only across the road to Poinente beach & about 8 mins walk to Levante beach. This meant that i could just take in the beauty of my surroundings.

Once again thank you for my relaxing stay

Room At The Top

Excellent value for money.  The reception, restaurant, bar and all other staff were very friendly and helpful. The standard of cleanliness was very good throughout the hotel.  We had to smile that our room number was 801 and the lift only went to 7? no it wasn't the twilight zone!! hence the title for our review, the view was truly magnificent.

I have stayed in the Mar Blau Hotel on 3 ocassions and would consider the hotel to be worthy of recommendation.  The Hotel is located approximately 300 metres from the hustle and bustle of central Benidorm yet far enough to be away from the crowds and noise.

The rooms are basic but well kept, air conditioned and clean. Anyone staying there should conider paying extra for a room with a sea view as the views of the beach(30 metres!)are great, especially sitting on the balcony at night watching the world go by.  The Hotel is mainly full of Spanish people, yet all the excellent Staff speak sufficient english to look after you. The food in the restaurant is plentifull and changes on a daily basis from various soups, salads, meat dishes, fish and of course the postres (Puddings!).  You can even buy a bottle of wine when you arrive which they will label as yours to take a glass from each night if you so wish.

My only negative comments on the Hotel would be to anyone who has impaired mobility as there are steps into the hotel and into the restaurant(5 or 6 steps into each), otherwise all rooms are accessible by lift. Parking at the Hotel is difficult (as in all of Benidorm!)however the hotel has 3 reserved spaces outside the entrance which allow you to set down and pick up travellers/ luggage.

A highly recommended hotel - go for it you won't be disappointed.

What a marvellous surprise for a 2 star hotel! We are independant 'do it yourself' holiday travellers, and expected for our money, just that - your average 2 star hotel. The Mar Blau deserves a much better marking in my estimation. Although the rooms are very comfortable but slightly dated furniture wise, the bathroom was out of this world with fresh clean towels everyday and lashings of hot water. The room was cleaned every day to absolute perfection and the air conditioning was a god send. Waking up every morning to the sea view from our balcony was so relaxing and great to end the day on sitting with a glass of vino.
Even though I am a vegetarian, the food was lovely with a very good choice, and I certainly didn't have to find somewhere else to eat out! The staff were very courteous and we were the only Brits there, the rest being mainly Spanish but everyone was very friendly.  I have loved it so much that I will be booking again for next year (with a sea view of course) Bliss.
I can't wait.

Loved location regular benidorm visitor. hotel small with helpful staff. Rooms small and very basic. Poorly furnished two beds a tv and a cupboard. had to move bed to open cupboard or to gain access to our balcony, we were lucky some rooms don't have one. The bathroom was nice, clean towels every day lots hot water. Air con worked well. Food plenty of it but only very average, and little choice. All guests mixed in well everyone very friendly.
this is a 2*hotel that does not deserve higher rating. regardless of my comments i had a good holiday. I feel it is important that people realise you get what you pay for. will return to benidorm but not to this hotel.

4 families booked nervously on the internet for this holiday, but there was nothing to worry about.  In total there were 18 in our party and we all had a fabulous time. Appartments basic but very clean with a pool view.  Water slides, Giant Maze , Bars and good restaurants nearby.  We all found this holiday very relaxing and brilliant if you have a family as there is no noise at all at night.  Will definately be using Alpharooms again!

My wife and I have just returned from a 10 day stay at this hotel, it was fantastic, the sea view room, which we paid a little extra for was basic, but very clean and service excellent, the resturant was superb, with a choice of hot and cold food, and 4/5 choices at breakfast, and evening meal, the location was very commendable, within easy reach of all amenities, and the beach straight over the road, we booked independantly, and hired a car from the airport, parking was not a problem, the weather fantastic, and the other guest in the hotel, who were mainly spanish pensioners, were very polite and friendly, we would recommend this hotel to anyone and we will definately be booking again with alpharooms.com to return next year, as we had such a good time.
