This was my first holiday and hotel experience. On our arrival we were informed that we would be moved the next night due to renovation work. We then had to wait as they couldnt find the correct key for our booked triple room. The room was at the top, in the attic and was large enough for 2 people, they had clearly just thrown the extra bed in to accommodate. In the morning we were startled when our door opened and a middle aged french couple walked in, claiming (almost aggressively) that we were in their room. It turns out the hotel had moved their property to another room. We then found out that we were being moved because the hotel had actually double booked, and weren't renovating at all. Our group was then split as we were given one single room and one twin room with 3 floors between them, causing a socially uncomfortable situation for us. The windows were difficult to open and we had to request towells as they weren't supplied as requested, neither was the safe at first. As my first experience staying in a hotel, I am sceptical as to whether I will use one again. The staff were far too laid back and reluctant to accept their mistakes. Our original plan was to stay at the Bulldog but they could not supply a triple room; neither, as it turned out, could the Manofa.
