Review of 'MAGIC FENICIA'
27 March 2006
Although we have stayed at this hotel several times in the past, this time we did not enjoy it as much. The hotel was full of Spanish and although this is not usually a bad thing, the hotel catered solely for their Spanish guests. Our room was a very small double room, although I thought I had requested a twin room.
One thing I must say the reception staff were absolutely brilliant, nothing was too much trouble, so the Fenicia scored highly here.
The food in the restaurant was unfortunately always cold, we thought it was a one off but after the third day we realised that this was it. We spent the rest of the holiday either at breakfast in the Monica Holidays (which was brilliant though a long way to walk) or by the middle of the week we were going to the Villa del Mar just ten minutes walk away. The food at the Villa del Mar was amazing, hot, varied and very good. I don't know what we would have done if we hadn't been allowed to use the facilities of the other hotels.
The lounge in the Fenicia was very good. Due to the fact that the hotel was full of Spanish, as soon as they could they were in the Boom-Boom bar and if you weren't in there for about 7.00 p.m. you couldn't get a seat, so we spent all our time in the Aurora Lounge which was brilliant with good staff and squishy sofas.
Overall I probably would go back but more than likely, but would use the Villa del Mar's restaurant.
