7 night break

25 August 2008
Having just returned from this Hotel I would have to say anybody that reviews this as a Great Hotel are quite literally easily pleased. The Pool area is disgraceful with British and Spanish teenagers left to run amok . The areas around the pool are constantly soaking wet never once being moped by staff. The Queues at the roof top terrace bar are constant .Preference is constantly given to the Spanish in all areas from queue jumping at reception to the kids club were they dont really want to know unless you speak spanish. Some nights the food was very good however the constant repetition of left over pate and vegetables in all manner of disguisting salads was a joke. The staff in the restaurant would bump in to you with the trollies unless you jump out of the way .The coffee from the machines was sickening eventually you can get a decent espresso if you queue again at the bar. This Holiday was marred by a crap unattended pool, dirty cramped rooms overbearing and pushy natives constant reheated and disguised leftovers. The only time we were show any glimmer of hope was when were greeted warmly at the restaurant one evening offered a drink only to discover it was the hotels review night very sneaky. The medevial show in the Excaliber is a great night .Go to this hotel during the day its great for kids and has a nice open air restaurant. The problem with CRISTAL Hotel is you have already spent your money giving it all to the travel agent when youre all inclusive the hotel makes very little out of this so they cant really be bothared. This Hotel is great if you want to sit aroung drinking all day which I can tell you plenty did .But if you want quality time with your family Dont Go.

You get what you pay for!

11 July 2008
Booked as a last minute short break with 2 teenagers. Rooms ok but small - single room did not have balcony! Adequate to sleep in and clean enough. air conditioning was a godsend but very noisy! Food basic but hot and enough choice at all meals. Bar service not brilliant in the main bar but hotel was very busy with Spanish tourists! Dont go if you want to be with an English crowd- you will be very outnumbered! Pool area ok but no umbrellas so no shade for little ones. Activities during the day were not very good. Best thing about going to a Magic hotel is the shuttle bus taht takes you to other hotels which is well worth doing - Rock Gardens is more geared up for English! Hotel well placed for old town shopping. My best tip for independent travellers is to get the bus from the airport into Benidorm - 8 euros each - a bargain compared to 75 euros for a taxi!

Hotel Cristal Park

30 April 2008
Four of us stayed here for the last week of April found the hotel busy and friendly, food good, location excellent for exploring the old town we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would have no hesitation in returning to this hotel only complaint we had was promo rooms were very small but when we mentioned this to reception staff they were very helpful and agreed to move us to standard rooms for a small supplement which we were more than happy to pay all in all we felt that we got good value for money at this hotel.

Magic Cristal Park

14 April 2008
Well...we stayed here for a week and we ate in the hotel restaurant nearly every day and the food was ok but nothing really for children only chips, the swimming pool was freezing cold even though it was indoor. There was also a jacuzzi which was very nice and hot. The hotel was clean and so were the rooms, there are good computers around the lobby which have everything you could possibly need. It wasn´t the best hotel but it was ok...

Disabled access

22 March 2008
One of our party was severely disabled and a room with disabled access was requested. On arrival the corridor to our rooms had one step followed by three steps which was totally unacceptable. When we pointed this out at reception they charged us 60 euros to change the room!! Some of the meals were okay but in the main poor and luke warm. The hotel is is need of refurbishment being quite scruffy in parts. We used the lifts all the time because of our friend using a battery operated scooter and found the wait for the lifts at times intolerable. Wouldn't use the hotel again.

Great hotel, good, good food, very hot, great selection. Good location near beach, use of sister hotels with free bus. Watch out bus tends to come early and a taxi may be needed. Room very small but adequate, although room booked by friends on same day was huge. Although we had a small bacony whilst they had a sliding window. Would certainly stay here again. No serious complaints & great value for money, 24 hour all inclusive.

We would return

02 March 2008
The hotel has a 4pm check in, but when we arrived early this wasn't a problem and we were greeted in a curteous and friendly manner. The food was good with a decent choice. Our room didn't have a view (brick wall) but for the price and considering the fact it was All Inc. I think it was still well worth the money. The swimming pool was closed for refurbishment, fortunately for us that was not a problem, but perhaps it would have been nice to have this mentioned when booking. Our room was cleaned daily and the bed made, even though we were only staying for four nights. The thing I really liked about this hotel was the fact that although the room had to be vacated by 12 noon on your day of departure, you were still able to eat and get free drinks until you left. I have stayed in plenty of hotels where this is not the case. A definate plus for the Cristal Park. Decent entertainment and with five bars (two of which are smoking - which is great for us) there was always something on in the evening. We did venture to the Villa Benidorm and were impressed by this hotel also, and as they have a free coach that picks up and drops off at the other hotels in this group, we found it an added bonus. All in all, we would return to this hotel and I would be very happy to pay just a little more to get a room with a view.

Crystal Park

25 February 2008
We had stayed here last year and were really looking forward to our return trip. The hotel is lovely to stay in, even the budget room has everything you need though no view- but for that there is the fabulous roof top bar with the sun terrace and jacuzzi. We were a little disappointed in the food this year- there was a limited choice of meat dishes, with sausages on offer for every meal. Visiting the other hotels in the chain is always good to do, though the lack of the snack bar in the Magic Rock was a shame. Drinks in the bar are good- all inclusive is well worth the price! Some brilliant shows in the evening, especially the magic show with the entertainers who finished off with a spectacular dance in a spinning wheel.

25 June 2007
Really lovely staff especially the bar staff they were excellent. The food was absolutely lovely. The entertainment on a night was brilliant, joe marsh was excellent as well. On the down side the room wasn't very clean at all, to say cleaners came in every day all they did was sweep and clean the floor, in the 2 weeks that we were there they only changed the bedding once and that was because we pulled the sheets right back so they would change them, the pool wasn't very clean either it had allsorts floating about in it. Overall the hotel was average.

Review of 'Magic Cristal Park'

15 April 2007
Despite other reviews to the contrary we found the hotel clean, spacious and friendly.  We overlooked the main Aigues park which was beautiful. (Noisy traffic but we had air-con so shut the windows.)  The food was magnificent - we counted 92 different dishes one night and breakfast and lunch were equally superb.  The room was large and the three of us did not feel at all crammed like you often do in English hotels when they put a third bed.  The other hotels in the group are good too and your card gives you access to all of them meaning you can walk the whole town and still eat and drink all inclusive in the others.

Review of 'Magic Cristal Park'

05 March 2007
We arrived on a Saturday early evening in late February to a very chaotic reception area - not what you want after travelling all day - and expected a very long wait. We were pleasantly surprised with how quickly the queue went down and were sorted with our rooms within 30 minutes. Unfortunately one of the keycards did not work and after two return trips to the reception - from our 6th floor room using the stairs because the lifts were all chocca with people and suitcases checking in - we were given an old-fashioned key and could finally get into the room.
Following the less than perfect check-in the stay got very much better.  The rooms were clean and spacious with loads of room for storing clothes etc. The restaurant had a good selection of food at a better-than-expected quality in plentiful supply. We did not stay for entertainment prefering instead to sample some of the more colourful venues around the resort.
The Cristal Park has a lovely roof terrace overlooking Benidorm with bar and swimming pool - ideal for relaxing during the sunny afternoons, although the pool was too chilly for most during our February stay. We visited three other Magic hotels during our stay for food and drinks and found them all to be of the same good standard - but the Cristal Park seemed to have the best food selection.
Being on the edge of the old town 500 metres up a slight incline straight from the end of Levante beach, we found the location perfect. There are loads of bars, shops, etc. on the doorstep but it's still only a 15 minute walk from the heart of the 'english' entertainment area full of cabaret bars etc. if required - and only a 5 euro taxi journey back in the early hours!
The hotel doesn't have a car park so if you're driving you'll have to park in a public car park just a few metres from the hotel which costs 1euro per hour or 10euros per 24-hour period.

What a marvellous place to stay.  Right in the centre of town but not noisy from the road inside the hotel.  Food was wonderful, even a range of food for a vegetarian. Visiting the other hotels in the chain made lunch every day more fun.  The hotel pool was a bit cool for my liking in February but the roof top jacuzzi made up for it.  Other hotels in the Magic group had more leisure facilities- such as a pool that was as hot as a bath.
The budget room I was in was small with no view but was very well equipped and perfectly cleaned every day.  It was a great surprise to have a kettle and fridge in the room.  It's a hotel I would definitely like to stay in again.

Just returned from Benidorm where we stayed in the Magic Cristal Park Hotel. The accommodation was a bit dated but the rooms were very clean and spacious. The location was ideal for exploring both the old and new town areas of Benidorm. The food was good with a varied menu and served from 8am to midnight! Drinks were available 24 hours a day so if you like the all inclusive holiday this is a perfect place to stay. Excellent value for money and would definitely stay there again. There are 10 Magic hotels in Benidorm and if you are all inclusive you can eat and drink in all of them, and there is a free shuttle bus service available to take you there too!

Having stayed at the cristal park on at least 15 occasions before we were dismayed at the complete change in the quality of the food that is now being offered.  The hotel could never be classed as good overall but the food always made up for the other shortfalls (in our opinion the best hotel for food in the group), but this time it was awful, we will not be staying there again, not just our opinion but other guests who had also experienced the good and the absolute disaster it is now.

Helpful people

02 April 2006
This was not our first trip to the Magic Cristal Park. Our room was on the main road and it seems to be busy 24 hours a day. The noise can make it difficult to sleep but if you have had enough night caps, it isn't so bad. Unfortunately I had my flight bag stolen in Alicante while we waited for the tram, so when we arrived we had no identification but the receptionist could not have been more helpful. One word of warning, don't use the telephones in reception as they "eat money". The hotel is popular with older Spanish couples and they tend to mill about in groups chatting and staring at everyone coming in and out. This can be quite disconcerting. The Cristal Park has the largest dining room of the eight hotels in Benidorm so people from other hotels tend to eat there at night as there is more choice. This can make getting a meal a bit of a challenge at times. However, unlike the Magic rock they never run out of food.

This hotel caters for the 'masses', the food was really good considering the number of people. Food times were a bit of a free for all, so we ate early. The hotel is on a hill, so was not too good coming back from the shops and bars if you have trouble walking.  The cabaret room that is down stairs caters for over 500 people with the bar open until 8am, which we found a little excessive, but that is a personal choice. We wont be going back to this hotel, as we prefer something a little more refined.

My review 'MAGIC cristal park'!!

25 January 2006
HI, I went to the magic cristal park in June after booking i heard alot of bad comments on various websites and was dreading my stay. I love it as soon as i got there. Our whole group loved it i can honestly say i never had one problem with the hotel. The staff are great especially the bar staff. The hotel is big and theres alot to do within the hotel on various floors. The pool is lovely and is covered. Theres sun beds on the very top of the hotel. The food was great something to suit everyone. The entertainment isn't great but it isnt bad. The hotel has alot of bars in the hotel i think there was 5 most of the bars had their own entertainment in. Hope this review has helped!!  This hotel is a must!! I do not regret going to Cristal Park and will certainly be returning as soon as i can!!

had a lovely week, met some nice people, weather was better than expected, so ventured out to the other amigos hotels, cant say they were any better than cristal; food was well varied, bar staff and waiters very friendly and polite, reception staff very helpful. rooms were kept spotless every day. the good point about this hotel if you are taking children between 4 and 16 they have their own club to go to, this is found in the basement floor next to the large fammily bar, no adults are allowed in so they can go and chill in their own area. you can have a sneeky look see what they are up to but you soon get spotted and sent out. the only downside would be we should have paid little extra and had an outside facing room with balcony as the inner facing room was a little warm as air cond switched of in sept, not hotels fault that for end of oct weather being 28 deprees and as high as 23 at night. roof top was brill with jacuzzi and covered pool plus bar open 10-6 all in all there  are 5 bars so there was plenty to choose from. will be booking again for next year

I do hope that this hotel has improved since we visited it in september 1997.  Apart from the memorey of my 30th birthday celebration there, where the staff very kindly left some champagne and fruit in my room, all I think about when I look back is the cockroaches all around the plates next to the buffet! We didn't initially choose this hotel, it was changed by our travel agent, as the Tropicana Gardens, closed for refurbishment after we booked it, I had been to that one a few years previous and it was lovely!  We reluctantly accepted the change as it happened just two weeks before our holiday and we assumed it would be as good, we were told that they were sister hotels!  I have never been abroad again since, as I couldn't afford to waste all that money only to be so dissappointed!
