Review of 'Louis Phaethon Beach'

Myself & family arrived at the Phaethon Beach on 20/12/06 for a 10night xmas holiday, we arrived @ hotel approx 10.30pm quick & effortless check-in & promptly a waitress with soft drinks greeted us. Our room was functional,although a little small for family of four, we had missed the evening dinner however waiting in room were sandwiches & drinks. We stayed on half board basis, although the hotel caters for all-inc. The area of the hotel is in the quiet part of Paphos, although their is an excellent bus service directly outside the hotel which runs as far as Coral Bay(lovely beach).The food was very nice, although i personally would have liked more Greek Food to be available.Entertainment in the evening was amusing & the amination team worked very hard. Entertainment for the over 12's during the day was non-existent & as the outdoor pool was not heated(Siberia comes to mind)their was very little for the over 12's to do,although my 11 year old enjoyed the kids club when visited. My only real gripe with the hotel is the lack of no smoking areas, during the warmer evenings this would not be a problem because you can sit outside, however, in winter when you are inside,the smokey atmosphere was very unpleasant.The hotel has a 4* rating, i would disagree & say it was only 3*.The hotel was very xmassy more than i expected, as this was our first xmas away, all the children 12 & under were personally invited by letter to meet Santa on xmas day & collect a present.The staff were all friendly & helpful.I would visit the hotel again but only during the warmer evening period's.This is the first time I have used Alpharooms & will use them again.
