I can only say that I had a great time at Los Solmones.
The aparthotel is great! The staff is great, especially the people from the bar.
I read the other reviews. If you are very picky, please go to a 5 star hotel.
The hotel is clean, people are friendly, with it's 4 towers it is nicely situated.
If I be be at Gran Canaria again I will stay at Los Salmones again, but then I want my room 360 or room 361 back!
My greetings to all the staff of Los Salmones! I felt very much at home!

The weather and nightlife was brilliant is the only good thing I can say about this place. This Hotel is so old and past it it needs demolishing. Built in a circle like a polo mint all the sound echos round so we had little sleep. We never got sheets changed, towels only once and we spilt some talcum powder that stayed on the floor all week. There was one milk pan and a small frypan --good job we ate out every night. For self catering it was useless it did not even have a teapot or kettle. We went B/B. the breakfast never varied and by 9.45am there was little left to choose from and as the breakfast finished at 10 nothing was filled up. There was not enough room round the pool and if you didn't get round the pool before 10 you'd no chance of getting a sunbed or room to put down a towel. This is the worst place I have ever been to. The only plus point is it's near the beach, bars and taxi rank.

For basic accomodation this place is fine , lovely pool, plenty of loungers provided you "claim" early in the day . Central location only 8/10 mins walk to beach . Apartments were clean and decent sized , beds and pillows were rock hard though . Last visit here was Sept 2000 where the racket around the pool was irratating & loud. Different type of holiday maker at this time of year, was a huge boost + infamous Irish centre is scaling down . Try Dunes and Tunes Irish beach bar down near Mc Donalds for a brilliant nite , musicians were great !

just returned for los salmones, it was clean towels changed most days, close to the beach and within easy reach of everything playa has to offer its a basic apartment but some where to put ur head down would go back staff were friendly food was ok had to be up early to get sun bed but all in all place was fine for the price and not much noise at night

GOOD VALUE FOR THE PRICE CHARGED

For the money it was very good value. it was close to "Patricks" Irish Pub which as always there was a great buzz in this pub. The singer Gerry O@donovan was very good, friendly and had a great selection of irish and international songs. The clubs were great ( in fact too good I stayed up too late too many nights) However back to the review, Los salmones was clean, staff friendly and towels changed regularly, but I would have liked the sheets to have been changed as a weeks is too long without a change of sheets. (That is when I managed to go to bed). The food at the bar was only very basic and would not encourage you to linger. The pool was lovely and being a Lifeguard I made good use of it. I would reccomend it to anybody on the understanding that the standard is what you pay for and dont expect a Five Star Hotel at this price.

Really enjoyed our stay here. It's budget but far better than equivalent class apartments I have previously stayed in before in Gran Canaria. The staff were all particularly friendly. The apartment was spotless, towels changed daily, floors mopped etc. A minor problem with our safe was fixed within minutes of reporting it. Only ate in the restaurant once and the food was average but it was ridiculously cheap so it's a little unfair to be too critical.
Would stay again.

If you just want to party, sunbathe and sleep this is definately the place to be. A couple of mins walk to Irish centre with a few good bars before a short walk (or taxi ride if you are in heels) to the Kasbah for some major nightlife. I recommend Cream (Chic) or Rodgers.
The rooms are clean, get new towels and beds made every day. Reception staff are very friendly and there is a nice big pool to sunbathe. Its definately not 5 star accommodation, but for the price and if this is what you are looking for its definately the best choice!!! Definately be staying again!!

This place is great!! its smack bang in the middle of all the life gran canaria has to offer. the irish centre is practically 10steps from the front door, the yumbo centre is 5 mins walk away and the beaches are cool too!! loved it soo much and id defo stay here again anytime. the atmosphere here was great. full of young people. we all got along cool. the rooms here are real nice considering its so cheap. no bugs, the towels are changed 5 times a week and beds made everyday. has full kitchen and balcony in every room! will be defo staying here again soon
