Review of 'LOS GERANIOS'

This is a complex with a lot of privately owned apartments on the same compex. The hotel is very handy to the Harbour area of Adeje with Bus Stops in both directions within 200 metres. The pool was small but adequate, Sun Loungers for the best positions were available at 9am on the dot. Breakfast was plentiful and varied, standard continental idea of English Breakfast. Rooms were clean and tidy with maid service 5 times a week. Recommend for more mature couples out of peak holiday periods.

This was my first try at self catering , maybe I was expecting to much. Room was below street level therefore no view , room was only cleaned out 5 days out of seven each week, staff were pleasant, just not my thing after being used to better facilities.

Review of 'Los Geranios'

11 September 2006
This was our second stay at Los Geranios - previously four years ago - and we picked it because it does a really excellent hot and cold buffet breakfast as an option, and because of the location, which has lots of shops, bars, restaurants, etc., virtually just outside the front door, and countless bus routes, to most parts of the island, from the stop about 100 yds away. (Maps and timetables free from the main bus station, about 10 mins walk away). The nearest beach is about 7 - 8 mins walk downhill, then down lots of steps.

Since our last visit, when we hired a car, and parked just outside the apartments, the road has been traffic-calmed, and now there are almost no roadside parking spaces, although there is a new multi-storey car park about 5 mins walk away.

Despite the lively surroundings, it is surprisingly quiet inside Los Geranios, as apartments face either the pool, or footpaths, plus, unusually, a very large proportion of the apartments are privately owned, so only occupied for parts of the year, meaning that the pool area doesn't seem to get too crowded, and the free sunbeds are plentiful.

There is a big "Pool Rules" sign next to the pool, forbidding radios, ball games, lilos, splashing, jumping and diving, etc - the sort of things that annoy people who just want to relax and sunbathe, and the staff are quite strict with offenders.

There is no entertainment programme, no games machines, no piped music, no children's playground, no sports facilities, no bar (although there is a poolside snack bar till 4 p.m. serving a limited range of alcoholic drinks).

From this, you might gather that this is accommodation more suited to couples, or families with very young children, wanting somewhere quiet to stay, but with plenty to do nearby. School aged children and teens & twenties are likely to be bored stiff at Los Geranios - making it all the better for us oldies.

Although there are lifts to some floors, there are lots of unavoidable steps from Reception down to the breakfast room and pool area, plus some apartments are down even more steps below pool level, so it is far from ideal for anyone with mobility problems.

We have only stayed in a 1-bedroomed apartment, and these have a balcony, a huge Lounge area with compact kitchen in one corner, equipped with microwave and electric hob.   Electric kettles, toasters, fans, etc.,  can be hired from Reception, if req

ok.. but had to be up early to get sun lounger as i bet there was 160 in hotel and about 70 loungers on a first one with towel on has it for day.. dont accept number under 100 unless you love privits and satellite dishes. especially rooms 86 to 92.. no view and in the dungeons.. spoil your hos if you get them rooms,as rooms 80-92 are in apssageway that collects noise and heat, and if you open your window, you hear generator for swim pool..i had a good drink and played hell in front of new guests and got top room overlooking puerto colon and the harbour.. be warned. GET THE ROOM WITH A HIGH NUMBER. ENJOY

we expected a high floor with sea view but had a ground floor allocated on arrival. it overlooked a tidy terraced garden which turned out to be very private. to the front steps went up to the pool area and as the bedroom window faced them you got a noise from about 8 o'clock with people clip cloping up them, we would have closed the window but as the apartment has no a/c you needed it open as it was suggested by the apt hand out to keep patio doors shut! above the bedroom and bathroom was a sun terrace which you would sometimes hear sunbeds being drag footsteps etc but nothing to bad, the managment had put signs up saying no ball games and consider people below which worked on our stay but we could have had a good week! kitchen was ok for the two of us any more and you could struggle with cups etc, this opened up into the lounge area which had sky tv, bbc, itv it also had a safe you can rent. the reception staff were all pleasent and helpful the                 cleaning staff were pleasant and cleaned every day except sun/wed this included towels if you required them. towards the end of the week we noticed the drain in the bathroom smelt at night despite the window being left open, it wasn't bad and as we only had one day left we lived with it but if it was high summer it may be a problem. in the local area you have plenty of bars, cafes and shops just across the road is a large under ground supermarket which sells everything you could want and some you wouldn't. 5 mins walk and you will be on a beach and next to the marina.

Review of 'LOS GERANIOS' what a gem

08 May 2005
my husband and i stayed here from 2/1/2005 for a week we had no idea what to expect as we booked it after looking at the alpha rooms site. what a nice suprise it was - although it was a studio it was like a one bed apartment. the large room was devided up into a twin bed room and then a small breakfast area and then a lounge area, with a lovely balcony overlooking the pool - the fittings were a little shabby in the kitchen and bathroom areas but the apartment was so clean and the bedding so clean and fresh we didn't mind. we got breakfast in with the price and that was buffet - hot and cold - with lots of choice. it was 5 mins from the beach, and very close to the st euganio shopping centre where there is a very big supermasket for all your needs. the security was very reassuring (you had to be buzzed in) and there was always someone helpful on the reception desk. i would recommend these apartments to anyone but, if you are a light sleeper, bring your earplugs as its near a busy road!!!!!!!!!!
