review los ficus

21 March 2008
We went all inclusive at this hotel and were very disapointed that we had to hire a kettle lead, pay to watch t.v.(we had no way of boiling water for our early morning tea etc). The rooms were very basic but ok although I think that they could have been cleaned better. The food was good and the staff in the resturant were very efficient. The pool was freezing cold, it was to cold to use, which was very disappointing. I enjoyed my holiday but would not stay at the ficus again...

Very nice

Just got back from Los Ficus, we had a good time, all inclusive food excellent, something for everyone, the best breakfast with pancakes made right infront of you. Lovely mexican food on our last night. Fresh fruit and salads at every meal. The kitchen staff are very pleasent and clear tables the second youve finished your plate. The entertainment team were very good, jonny and simon work hard to keep the kids and adults entertained with little activities going on round the pool and kids hour in the evening followed by bingo, which I never thought Id do! but large cash prizes persuaded me. We had a few outside shows that came in, a magician and some brazillian dancers and a parrot show and on the saturday its down to legends bar for the reps show. Watch out for the bar staff at the ficus they pour large large measures!!! /you will get tipsy! only downside was the cockroaches, saw 3 in my appartment, but then my sister was staying at a much more expensive hotel and found one too, think their just a problem on the whole island. Make sure you take a trip to the volcanoes, better value to hire a car for the day than go on organised trips though. Well done los Ficus!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We went to stay the end of March 2006. Weather beautiful, warm but with a lovely breeze.
Furnishings ok. Patio door not very secure so  glad we had a 2nd floor. Rooms clean and fairly comfortable. Kitchen with very few utensils and crockery. Had to pay a hire charge for a kettle! and fan. We ate out fairly cheaply. Clean towels about 3 times per week. I managed to shower the floor each time I used it.
Hotel activities almost non existant. Pool nice and plenty of sunbeds but only 1/2 umbrellas.Only a small walk to the shops, beach and restaurants. Road walking back to the hotel with many potholes and uneven flags, quite hazardous for those not so agile.
Quiet complex and quiet at night for sleeping. Internet available in reception which was handy and not too expensive. Would go back again as a cheap holiday break.

Los Ficus is in a reasonably quiet part of Costa Teguise. It's slightly out on its own as the land around it has not yet been built on. 100 yds from a supermarket and a number of shops and restaurants. The main beach and restaurant areas are about 3 minute walk away on the flat. The apartment itself was basic, and it was very sparcely equiped. Knives, forks, spoons, 2 pans, 2 cups and a few plates.but not even a bottle opener, also the bedroom could have done with a few blankets as it was quite cold at night. The pool area, as the rest of the hotel was very clean, and the breakfast was only E2.5.There was very little noise from other guests at night and overall the price we paid for 1 weeks apartment was excellent value. £114.we would use this complex again. The procedure with Alpharooms was easy and efficient. I would definitly use them again.

Review of 'LOS FICUS'

I booked Los Ficus at the last minute and am so please I did. My family and I had stayed at another property for the previous 5 days and were a little worried that our accommodation for the last night would not be up to scratch, how wrong we were. We arrived at about 10.15am to be greeted by warm smiles, friendly residents and most importantly a room that was ready to occupy.

The accommodation was clean, airy and comfortable. The complex was safe and friendly. We wished that we had been able to stay at Los Ficus for more than 1 night and will definitely stay again.

The pool area is clean, child friendly and safe.

Even though we stayed February half term, the sun came out all day for our stay at Los Ficus, which made our short time there even more enjoyable.

We would thoroughly recommend the Los Ficus to anyone.

The 'Los Ficus' Apartments were value for money.
Rooms were of a good size, and standard for the star rating.
We had some small problems, but were dealt with promtly.  Staff were very pleasent and helpful and when asked for extra items (which were not of adequate amount for our party), made sure we had what we needed.
Pool and surrounding areas were kept clean daily, and were in very good condition, although only the brave or stupid ventured into the icey cold waters! but this is normal for December.
Childrens play area would have been ideal, as equipment was good, but had volcanic grit for surface area, which is not ideal for young children.
We would return again for a cheap break.

My girlfriend and I really liked our Apartment (Self-Catering) which was on the top floor overlooking The Pool. It was clean, spacious and nicely decorated. The location was fine (about 10 minute walk to beach) and the Pool was kept very clean. Maintenance staff responded very quickly (5 min.) when our Curtain rail broke and Cleaning Staff attended 5 times in our 7 day stay. We didn't try the Hotel food at all so can't comment on that but overall it is a very clean and pleasant place to stay.

The hotel dining room is not big enough for all guests neither is the pool/area, the entertainment is too child based and does not cater for guests there with no children.  The food is ok but very repative-chips with everything.  The path from the resort centre is unlit and in poor repair.  Although myself and friend will return to the resort, it will not be to this hotel.

Im not your typical traveller, I was a rep and worked at the FICUS.  Ive only just left this week, and must say, I think it is great value for money, you definately get what you pay for.  I found the only let down was the reception staff who I found to be rude all the time, the entertainment staff try really hard to entertain everyone, and i personally thought it was great, even countdown!!!!!  Your sure to have a great value holiday.

Good all round accomodation, pretty much you can expect from a 3* hotel. Food was roughly the same ie. chips, veg, meat in a sauce lots of salad etc.

The apartments were okay. everything worked anyway. Got cleaned on a regular basis. The entertainment was good. There's only 2 reps doing it and they do work hard.

Weather great although there is a fantastic breeze which makes it nicer as without that it would be too much.

We would go back and def book with alpha rooms again.

I thought these apartments were great. Entertainment was excellent , (baby was ammused all day long) food was alright but they relly made an effort with the evening meals (theme nights)
The one thing that has lost points for me was the location. Set in a very open space so acts like a wind trap.
Overall well worth the money i spent !!!!
