lovely hotel if you are german!
13 August 2008
i have just come back from this hotel in salou and when we were on the coach arriving in salou i thought oh no!it was filthy dirty in cap salou, tarragona was ok and salou itself was ok,but when we arrived past all the discusting hotels there was the las vegas and my heart stopped pacing it was lovely and clean the reception area is amazing it really is huge and decorated modernly, the rooms were basic quite a small bathroom,an uncomfy bed,a fridge u had to pay 35 euros for which i thought was discusting considering i paid £530 for a week there.the remote for the t.v was 15 euros.the pool areas was always busy even with 3 pools and the jacuzzi it was always full of germans they are so loud and ignorant!u had to get up early to get a sunbed as you do everywhere but in this hotel it stated that you do not put towels on them and leave them but try telling a german that!! the bar was very expensive inside and out.the breakfast was absolutely minging it was again cooked german style frankfurters n smoky bacon an the juice i wudnt of givem my cat!the meals at night were completely different i thought oh god no iv got to eat this for a week but thankgod the main meal was nice.the food varied each night it was chips, salad, kebabs, burgers, pork chops etc.the entertainment in the hotel was mainly for older generations or kids nothing for in betweeners like myself or family, salou beach was not far from las vegas but u were always crowded by the spanish i was quite glad to get home and hear someone english!the bars at night were really expensive to eat or drink.overall the hotel was clean really friendly staff and there was no noise at night.i would not go back to salou again as i found it quite boring for us who were looking for kareoke bars an disco bars there was none at all so i would give the hotel a 4 star but the location a 1 im afraid.

Perfect choice for Salou
13 July 2008
A very good hotel considering the fact that it is in a city where all hotels deal with mass-tourism. The location is hard to beat - only a short walk from the beach and the centre, and the area is nice and tidy.
The rooms are good. Nice big bathroom and big balcony. The air-condition works excellent and the beds are comfortable. There is no noise, and even when the hotels own entertainment is going on right outside the windows, it is possible to sleep, as all windows are soundproofed. There is no noise from neighbouring rooms or corridors either.
The pool area is never overcrowded and the pools (there are three) are nice. The big one is fine for swimming. In the evening the pool area is used for entertainment (og mediocre standard) and outdoor café for the guests, creating a very lively and cosy atmosphere.
In general the Las Vegas Hotel somehow manages to feel like a "real" hotel with a good level of service. Everything is very clean and tidy; the staff is friendly and the interior design inviting.
The breakfast could be better, but is acceptable. The dinner is a lot better and it is recommendable to book a room with half board. The dinner is varied, and even if sometimes some of the dishes are not that good (the meat was sometimes a bit chewy), it is easy to find something else from the buffet that is good as there is always a huge amount of different things to choose from.
Salou itself is nothing special. The food at the restaurants is acceptable at best, and always pricy. Drinks are also a bit pricy and all discos seem to be for teenagers. Only exception must be the “Puerto Principe”, where the crowd is a bit older and the drinks amazing, but also a bit more expensive. The Zeppelin bar, where there is live music is also quite nice.
The beaches in Salou are absolutely overcrowded in the high season, but the water is nice and clean and makes it worth going to the beaches anyways. Just be prepared to lie very close to other sunbathers!
Am not sure I will ever be back to Salou, but if it happens, I would stay at the Las Vegas again.

Great location, clean, friendly staff, lots of info in reception about salou and costa dorada. Only gripe is that food was a bit repetative and tasteless but would still return!

REVIEW OF 'LAS VEGAS'
19 September 2006
We have just returned from a 7 night stay at the Las Vegas Hotel, after being recommended by the great reviews on the internet. The hotel was just 10 minutes from Reus airport with stunning sea views and a plush decorated interior. There are 3 separate pools, one for morning sun another for afternoon sun and a third catches the evening sun (but is just a paddling pool). All three pool areas were very clean as was the rest of the hotel. Rooms were immaculate and each had a balcony, rented fridge, tv, hair dryer, shower, bath and radio. Rooms to the front of the hotel boast sea views however we had a view from the back of the hotel overlooking next doors pool. Note that booking over the internet may not guarantee a sea view as customers travelling with larger tour operators tend to be given preference. The food was what you'd expect for a Spanish hotel however the serving area is only small in comparison with other three star hotels in the area, so queuing is likely. We stayed last year at the San Diego on a cheap and cheerful holiday but for not much extra we could afford to stay here! I agree with the reviews that this hotel is much more a four star than a three star with only the food area letting it down slightly. The staff were friendly and the hotel does not attract the drunken louts that was common at the san diego! Entertainment was average but with being only 3 mins walk to the fountain in salou, 2 mins to the nearest beach, 20mins bus ride to Aquapolis water park and only 10 min on the bus to Portaventura its difficult to get bored! Overall we’d highly recommend this hotel and we will be staying here again for next years summer hols!

just got back after spending a week at the las vegas, the hotel was very clean and the food is a good choice, only draw back i was not keen on is there are to many germans, and all sorts of others but they were mostly of pension age and were rather quite, salou is quite lively at night but the hotel is in a quite place so that is a bonus, try chaplins for some entertainment just around the corner but leave about 1 ish as all the very young come out and it was not for us, all in all we would go back to the las vegas again but will try other places first

We checked Alpha Rooms reviews and booked on the strength of them. We were not disapointed. We thought the food excellent, varied and nicely presented. Our room overlooked the pool and balcony was sunny in the afternoon. We never once came back for our siesta to find the room wasn't cleaned and ready for us We didn't check out the entertainment but did buy a few drinks in the hotel bar and they were reasonable. There did appear to be a rush for sun beds in the morning, but we are not sunbathers and when we did want to lie out for an hour late afternoon, there were plenty of beds available then. One small gripe we thought 25 euros to hire the fridge in the room for a week was expensive

This hotel was excellant value and situated in a great location beside the beach, promenade and town centre.
The hotel room was comfortable and spotless and the food provided was very good value for money. We stayed Easter week for € 30 per person per night to include breakfast, lunch and dinner.
The hotel bar was very reasonably priced and there was nightly entertainment. There was some repition of the entertainment but the hotels location meant you were in easy reach of all Salou had to offer. Tarragona is well worth a visit and within easy reach with the Planya bus service and their bus stop is just a couple of metres from the hotel. Planya also provide an excursion to Barcellona which is nothing short of a spectacular city.
We were concerned that all would be in order on arriving at the hotel having had difficutlies when using an internet hotel booking site before. Alpha rooms lived up to their reputation and we have already booked our next holiday using their site.

Review of 'LAS VEGAS'

This hotel is all that the reviewers have stated! I too was shocked that the hotel was only 3 Star. Although it is probably because of the rooms as they were very basic but clean and there was enough room in bedroom and bathroom and lots of room on the balcony. I booked this hotel by simply reading reviews from this site and from tripadvisor.com. I will definitely book again through alpha and if I ever return to Salou on holidays, will also be returning to the Hotel Las Vegas. It is a beautiful hotel, so convenient to everything. The beach is only 2 minutes walk down the hill to the left and we found a shortcut down some steps near an apartment block. It is very close to 2 little supermarkets, at the bottom of the road, the promenade is at the bottom of the road also only 2 minutes walk. The hotel lobby and bar is very big and spacious. The pools are great however the hotel do have rules that towels must not be put on beds to keep sun loungers but when I seemed to go down to the main pool when it was lunch at the hotel all sun loungers were abandoned with towels left on the beds to keep. The hotel was extremely clean and the rooms were cleaned everyday and sheets changed. There is a few English speaking staff at the reception for anyone who doesn't have great Spanish and all in all staff were very helpful and friendly. There was internet, games room and entertainment in the hotel. In general this hotel was not at all noisy, there was very little English people staying, this hotel had mainly Dutch and German people staying at it. It was lovely and highly recommended for people of all ages. I went with my boyfriend and I'm 29. There was an elderly English couple there staying, a group of Dutch boys on holiday and families staying also. This hotel caters for everyone at all ages.

Review of 'LAS VEGAS'
16 June 2005
When I first walked into the 'Las Vegas hotel' I was amazed that it was a three Star hotel. It could and should have been a four star hotel. The entrance and the lobby really stood out and it gave the hotel a nice atmosphere on arriving. The three swimming pools where a good size and spaced out around the hotel. The rooms were basic but comfortable. The bathroom was larger than average and you could look forward to a shower at the end of the evening. The dining area was excellent and the food was delicious and the choice each night was very tempting. After spending 3 days at the 'Las Vegas' hotel and the amount i had paid (£15 Per night inc half board) I found this to be the best value for money hotel you could possibly stay in. I will definitely be back next year but for a longer stay. See you there!

Not quite Vegas...but still quite a good location, with decent clubs and pubs within a two minute stagger of the front door, and the beach a stones throw away. Compared to some of the other hotels in the area this one is great...spacious rooms, good sized balcony, thought the view wasnt great. As for the staff they were friendly enough and the food was ok especially when you consider the cost...it definitly catered for us, and everyone else seemed to be enjoying themselves so would definitely recomend it whether you're a young group...young couple or even with the kids...all in all great value in terms of location and cost.
