Fab Apartments

16 July 2008
We stayed in this hotel for a week in July and it was aboslutely gorgeous. It is set in beautiful grounds, with 2 large pools and a large childrens pool, the mini golf (which is free) is also an added bonus if you can peel yourself away from your sun lounger. The hotel staff were all lovely and our 1 bed apt was always spotless. The only downside is that there is no air con, although there is a ceiling fan in the bedroom which does make a difference. The location of the Hotel is ideal to get into town and is well within walking distance. We would definitely stay in this hotel again and we would go back tomorrow if we could.

Fisrt Class Apartments

27 June 2008
First day back from holidays we stayed in Las Marismas, Corralejo, Fuerteventura. Its our second year to stay there wouldnt dream of staying anywhere else the apartments, pools, everything is first class for what you pay for. 13 of us stayed and will be back again next year. It was my birthday durning our stay we wnet to the beech and when we arrived back they had left a bottle of red wine with two glasses and a note to wish me a happy birthday. This was such a suprise and a nice gesture. The water park is just across the road from the front door and 15-20 mins walk to the Square (Main Town) taxis only cost about € 3.oo. The reception staff are so friendly and helpfully. The kids where in the pool most of the time they also have a lifeguard so its very safe. Honeslty if you want first class apartments you should go to Las Marismas.

Fantastic place, very attentive staff

25 April 2008
We took our girls age 2 and 5 to Las Marismas in April 2008 and have decided to go back later this year, we loved it so much. The apartments were clean and spacious, and the landscaped gardens and swimming pool were beautiful. The childrens play area was an added bonus and the children were able to go into the kids club as and when they wanted to draw and paint. This holiday cost less than a previous one in the same resort at the same time which we went on last year but was far superior and we will definitely be going back. We stayed on a bed and breakfast basis and the food was good with a wide choice. We had dinner there on two occasions aswell and found it to be as good as local restaurants. Highly recommended!

Would go again in the morning!

07 April 2008
We spent the first week of April at Las Marismas with our children aged 6 and 3. Las Marismas is perfect for a quiet week away especially if you are travelling with young children. The apts themselves are well laid out, clean and spacious. The pool area is comfortable and not overcrowded. The sunbeds have separte cushions and towels are available to rent (E10 per towel /refundable). The pool wasnt too cold not even for the little ones. The kids club was an added bonus. There was the same girl there for the week, she was friendly and involved with the kids, she knew their name the second day back and they loved her. It ran morning 10.30 to 1.00 late afternoon 4 to 6 and there was a disco from 7.30 to 8.00. There was a magic show and Latin dancers - 2 shows in all during the week - Entertainment stopped here! This was a pity as the bar and surrounds are so in need of just that little bit more life by night. We stayed on half board basis. The food was plain but there was a good choice. Cereals( nothing remotely like kellogs/familiar brands) breads, fruit and hot counter for breakfast (omletes a safe bet!). Dinner consisted of chicken dish, meat joint and fish of some sort - all of these varied every night and the salad bar was good. There was always rice, pasta and chips. You wouldn't go hungry, it was a long way from fine dining but in saying that we never got a bad meal. I wouldnt like to have the half board option for 2 weeks but a week is fine. The kitchen is not well stocked for those selfcatering. We did not have a kettle, toaster or microwave. On the up side it as spacious, the bed is huge, 7 foot altleast all four of us could just about fit comfortably! The appts are on the very end of the strip, it takes about 20 mins to get to the "old town/harbour" which would have been my favourite part of the resort, a bit of a journey with two tired smallies in the evening, but cabs are cheap. In all, we got great value for money. We enjoyed it, the kids had a ball, it was easy calm and relaxing. For a chill out week in the sun I would go again in a heartbeat!

las marismas

05 April 2008
just back from a week at las marismas. I stayed here for a week 18 months ago and was pleased to return and find the same high standard of apartment and complex had been maintained. The staff were always polite and helpful and served with a smile. We celebrated our silver wedding anniversay there and they spoiled us with champagne and cocktails on the house for all 9 of us the complex is a 10 minute walk to town but a taxi is between 2.50 and 3.50 euros and they arrive in seconds so if you dont fancy the stroll you dont have to. the beds are often 2 singles pushed together with 2 sets of single bedding although ours was a lovely big 6ft one the kitchen is equipped with toaster, coffee machine pans plates cutlery and cups etc but no kettle Wouldnt hesitate to stay again. All inclusive costs little more than self catering so worth it for the bar breakfast and lunch. We chose to eat out in the evenings as there are so many great restaurants in corralejo. Entertainment is low key. there are some fitness activities going on (pilates, pool aerobics etc) but they dont come around to invite you. The schedule is on a newletter that you are given on arrival so check it out if you want to join in. Only a couple of niggles. 1. Food on lunchtime buffet is luke warm at its hottest. (we went out most evenings to eat) 2. Bar closed at midnight and has no atmosphere at all. We only stayed in it as we were all inclusive. 3. Although apartments were never dirty the maids merely emptied the bin (that was the only way we knew she had been) Just as the first time i went the booking was not quite as we asked. we were a party of 9 in 5 rooms and they were dotted all over the large complex even though we had requested together and telephoned directly to confirm this. The first time i stayed we had booked a 2 bedroomed to find we had 2 x 1 bedrooms when we arrived so it seems to be a recurring problem. Pools were clean (one was heated and the other one wasnt too cold either, we went in every day

Las Marismas

17 February 2008
Just returned from a week at Las Marismas and would definitely consider returning. Our kids aged 14, 11 and 7 all enjoyed the complex particularly the pools and mini-golf. Facilities and services are very good but the bar could do with a little livening up as it is devoid completely of atmosphere and closes promptly at midnight - because of this it has few patrons which is surprising as it could be a great income generator for the owners. An excellent entertainment/waterpark complex is located adjacent to Las Marismas but unfortunately it's closed for the months of January and February for renovations. Taxis are cheap - about €3.50 to the town centre and car hire is recommended as there are some wonderful beaches within 20 minutes drive - El Cotillo on the western coast is recommended - sandy and safe.

Great Hotel!

11 November 2007
Las Marismas is a really great hotel... we booked it from reading good reviews and it didn't let us down.... When we booked the hotel in the comments we requested a 'top floor room' as from the reviews everyone said these were the best... and they definitely were. We were in room 2359 which was one of the biggest on the site. The appartment was spacious, clean and well furnished. The facilities are good too - the tennis court (book in advance though when you get there), mini golf and the pools were all well kept and the staff were all really helpful on where to go and what to do. Corralejo has enough to do to keep you occupied for the week.... The Baku Waterpark is a bit of a rip off for what it is.... you get for your admission entry to the new 'Animal Experience' which well... didn't really have any animals.... except a donkey and some rabbits. On the literature it makes a big deal about its great whites and the shark we saw was a foot long. Anyway....The Rock Cafe has great music in the evening and we didn't have a bad evening meal out - well apart from the Chinese on the main street which was grim to say the least! All in all a great holiday and we'd definitely recommend it!

Nice accommodation

25 September 2007
Just back from a weeks stay at Las Marismas. First impressions were excellent, place was spacious & spotlessly clean although a very large complex & would have preferred a smaller more intimate place to stay. Arrived at 11.30am however could not access room until 3.30pm. Rooms were clean & spacious, although a long walk away from the main entrance. Pool and common areas were beautifully maintained and although the complex was large, the place never felt crowded & we never had a problem finding sunbeds by the pool. The snack bar / buffet area was excellent value for money, for snacks / lunch in the day however the bar area at night time was extremely quiet & lacked atmosphere! I probably would not return to Las Marismas for the simple reason that I would not return to Fuerteventura!!

Great Value and a great time...

20 September 2007
I have just returned from six days spent in this hotel. I have to say that I was very impressed. I was a little concerned that the hotel would be a little away from the main strip in the town but it turned out to be great. The apartment was very large and was of a higher standard than I had seen in the past. The on site car park is very safe and handy. The only down side was that we had an apt on the third floor. This would have been difficult if you had any walking difficulties. All in all I would recommend this hotel.

What a great week, What a great resort!

17 September 2007
We have just got back from Fuerteventura (yesterday) and stayed at this hotel. We have to agree that this is a beautiful resort. The rooms are a very high standard, they are clean, spacious, well equiped and very comfortable. They all have large terraces, the pools are big, spotlesley clean with sun beds for everyone!. Just a couple of small things if we wanted to moan, there was not a bell boy service so we all had to carry our own suit cases to our room (however trolleys could be obtained) some rooms such as ours were quite a way from the reception. Occasioally there was a shortage of sunbed matresses. And finally if you are a smoker there seems to be a shortage of ashtrays. Overall this IS an excellent resort, great value for money and everybody that we spoke to said the same. We can´t wait to go back, and would highly reccomend it.

19 July 2007
Stayed @ Las Marismas for 1week in July`07 and it was the best week ever. Cannot fault these apartments, spotless, spacious and total relaxation. I would highly recommend this place, it should be 4star plus. The pool was great and lunch in the pool bar was lovely also. The bar in the complexis very quite, but the town is only 10 mins walk and loads of resturants and bars. We will be going back in oct we enjoyed it so much. Also great place for kids, but bring buggies its a long strip.

30 March 2007
I would have to agree with all the comments made about Las Marismas. The apartments were spacious, spotless and relaxing. The staff were very attentive so much so that I had taken my birthday cards with me and when I returned from the pool they had given me a bottle of wine and a birthday note.It is about 10 minutes walk to the main part of the town and that was strolling or the hotel will ring for a taxi which are not expensive at all (about 3 euro's. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay there and will be recommending it to all of my friends and family I was so pleased with the accomodation. The restaraunt I cannot comment as I'm afraid I never used it but the pool bar was fine for lunches. More like a 4 star.

Top class facility. There is nothing bad that I could say about Las Marismas. The apartment was such a high stanbdard. The complex itself is extremely well equipped. Although we were travelling with adults it is easy to see how this complex can comfortably cater for any group from the young to the elderly. It is well located with a lot of amenities close by and just a 5 minute walk takes you to the centre of the town.

We had a great time. The apt's are turely lovely & clean, friendly staff. Our maid Elena was really nice she came 6 days a week and did a lovely job.Mini golf, gym free every day. Our son aged 10 met lots of children his age.Its about 15 min walk to main town but pleasant, about 20 mins to old part of town.Found the resturants along the beach were stunning but found in all resturants service was slow and staff were not helpful.(Except chinese they were lovely)and they really look after you.ladies who love to shop Mango(very fashionable ladies wear) really cheap here but not so in london. So grab a bargin.Bars in town were ok,nothing specialwe visited a few karaoakes, listened to a guy in quiet little bar called imagine if you like a little bit of class and have got children that will sit and listen, hes really worth a visit.Lobos island is a must, peace, beauty, tranquill really cheap on boat.can stay the whole day, beautiful lagoons, great for snorkelling, but only one resturant on island only sells fish so take packed lunch with plently to drink and dont wear flip flops the stones are murder, wear beach shoes has when you want to swim in lagoons you wont slip. have a nice hol.

Las Marismas

11 September 2006
Stayed at Las Marismas four times now and it's definitely the best place in Corralejo that we've found so far.  Pools are great, with more sunbeds than people, so no battling for a place by the pool.  Although most people in ground floor apartments take sunbeds onto their patio.  Pool bar lovely place for a drink or occasional lunch.  The staff are great.  Really friendly and helpful.  If anything goes wrong in the apartment the maintenance staff arrive quickly and sort things out.  Apartments are lovely and cleaned six times a week, with sheets changed twice and towels every other day.  The walk into town for restaurants takes about 15 minutes and can be a bit boring as there's no real choice of route, but the walk home after dinner is much nicer somehow - quieter and some exercise after all that fish/meat/salad/wine whatever is nice before bed.  All in all a great place to stay.

Fantastic Complex ~ only a 3 star but should be 4*, the only reason why it wouldn't be maybe is because of the lack of Air Con in the rooms!  But there is a large ceiling fan in the bedroom.  The rooms are spacious and very well maintained and cleaned 5 times during the week.
The room that we had had 2 balconeys (both huge) as we were on the 3rd floor (only about 10 rooms on this floor) if you get chance then ask for a top floor room, the views are amazing!
Go on, treat yourself and go to Las Marismas.....

Review of 'LAS MARISMAS DE CORRALEJO'

03 July 2006
A very nice, pretty, spacious resort. The apartments and balconies were an excellent size and furnished very well and the bedrooms were equipped with ceiling fans. There are two pools which are also large with one half being a salt water pool, the pools were fun whichever we chose. The childrens pool is also large with a safe enclosed childrens club along side. We didn't eat in the restauraunt although it looked very nice. We did eat in the snack bar and whilst the food was ok the service could have been better, the same goes for the main bar. The reception staff were very helpful and informative. My only complaint would be the poor maid service, it was erratic and in the two weeks we were there they didn't sweep the apartment or balcony once! and when they started early (We are not late risers) they took no account of people sleeping when dragging furniture around, even after we complained. The town is about a 15min walk, with plenty of bars and eating places. There are two small beaches off the town but it is well worth getting the hotel bus or a taxi to Las Dunas beach which stretches for miles, it is gorgeous. The hotel bus will take you at 11am and bring you back at 3.30pm so if you want to go outside these times it is no dearer to get the taxi.  Despite the maid service, I would still recomment this resort.

Review of 'LAS MARISMAS DE CORRALEJO'

27 March 2006
We stayed in Las Marismas on a self-catering basis for 1 week in March 2006. The resort is great, with very spacious apartments, tastefully furnished and well equipped. Our two and a half year old enjoyed the huge baby pool, although it was not heated and for this time of the year a bit cold. A big bonus was the children's entertainment. Sandy, who runs the mini-club and the mini-disco had a very entertaining programme lined up for the children. The facilities in the mini-club are excellent, and the venue itself very spacious, so the parents of the younger children (<3 years) can stay around.
We didn't eat in the main restaurant, however, had lunch a couple of times at the pool bar and it was good. Sports facilities are very reasonably priced (1 hour tennis including racket and ball hire only EUR 3!) and there is a gym.
The only slight downside: the walk into the pedestrian zone / port of Corralejo (where most of the nice restaurants are) takes about 25 minutes and it's about 15-20 minutes to the small beach in town. However, Las Marismas run a bus service to the large La Olivia beach and the sand dunes for a small charge.
We had a great time and would recommend this hotel especially to families with small children.

Pools and gardens are the best I have ever stayed at.  Great feeling of spaciousness and that's what makes this place stand out....it's simply very relaxing!..apts are spacious but you may be unlucky with noise from upstairs  as all the furniture is v heavy and if even a chair is dragged it can get loud...the complex is very v popular with young families..obviously a lot will depend on which apt you have..they are facing every direction and are on two levels.  It's a long long walk to reach town and if you're doing it regularly it gets to be a big boring trek..whats not a big boring trek is if you decide to visit El Cottillo .. then head walking towards lighthouse and then keep walking along path until you reach Correlejo via coastal path!! be warned , give yourself plenty of daylight ...it's about 10 or more miles but its very scenic and remote

Review of 'LAS MARISMAS DE CORRALEJO'

24 October 2005
What a great complex to stay at - from the minute we walked in the door to the minute we left the staff could not be more helpful or accommodating.  Having booked a 2 bed apartment for 3 of us and requesting that it overlooked the pool, on arrival we were given the option of 2 one bed apts for the same price, as the 2 bed apts are not actually next to the pool, but are massive and would still be good.

We looked at both of them - equally of excellent standard, large rooms, lovely double sinked bathrooms and although not a separate shower, the power shower over the bath was great.  The rooms had loads of storage space and a large fan over the bed which was perfectly adequate for October but I'm not sure that in the height of season it would be enough, however both the patio doors had lockable screened doors so you could leave the solid door open for ventilation, especially as the whole complex is so secure, the only way in is via reception. We opted for the 2 separate apts which each have 2 double patio doors and double patio area with woodern chairs and tables leading directly out to the pool. Tip here is request ground floor because the upper floor ones only have to be access from the back via a front door so you have to walk round and is nowhere near as convenient (although you do then suffer with the over head noise of scrapping chairs, but you get this anywhere).  The place was spotless, cleaned every other day with sheets and towels change 3 times in a week.

There are 3 lovely pools, all very clean and surrounded by lovely gardens with a great pool bar/restaurant.  As in previous reviews, the sunbeds have got to be the most comfortable I have every laid on (and with 5 holidays this year already and a year travelling the world I have tried a fair few).  The beach bar served great food during the day and at really reasonable prices - they also serve excellent sangria which ensures an afternoon nap on the sunbeds to catch up after those late nights.

Because one of our party injured their back (and again the staff were so helpful in calling the Dr/taxi's etc) we did stay in one night and had the buffet dinner - 15 euros, but from an English point of view, I would say this was not of great standard or good value.  Having said that, normally you would not stay in for dinner with all the great seafood restaurants

We visit Corralejo in Fuerteventura each year and The 'Las Marismas De Corralejo' apartment complex is the best we have stayed in. Two good sized pools, plenty of sunbeds and mattresses, helpful reception staff, mini golf, gym, bar and restaurant. From pulling up in the Taxi to leaving a week after I have nothing but praise for Las Marismas.  The staff were very friendly and helped with arranging buses and hiring bikes.  Breakfast is huge for the price and the cocktails in the main bar are fantastic.  Didn't eat in restaurant but it looked nice but a bit too well lit.
