Lake Berkley Townhomes
18 July 2007
We spent 5 nights here, and enjoyed our time...eventually! They had put our reservation for 1 month later than we had booked, so did not expect us when we arrived after the long flight from the UK. That said, they were very helpful in offering us a room for the night (at rack rate $160) as they thought the error was not theirs, and had been made elsewhere. Full marks to Alpharooms, as we were calling them in the middle of the night UK time, and as soon as they were able to contact the resort, it was sorted out...much to the facilitys embarrassment. All's well that ends well, and they backed up their apology with a nice note, and a bottle of champagne delivered on ice, with champagne glasses, so good on them for acknowledging the error, and doing their best to make up for the hassle.
The townhouses are very smart, must be pretty new, which is always nice. The usual stuff you expect in Florida, with a full kitchen, generous floorplans etc, and the resort itself is nicely laid out...not over developed, and a real quality feel about it. The pool is a nice size, albeit the resort seemed very quiet, less than 50% occupied we would have guessed, so I don't know how it would be if it were full, but we were fine.
Location is ideal, being 2 minutes i the car to the big Walmart next to Medievel Times Dinner Show (for the experienced Florida travellers). Not right on the Highway 192, so I would always say have a car in Florida, as it wouldn't be easy to get around to the shops and restauarants without a car.
Overall..very happy with our stay, once e got our wee glitch sorted out, and would have no hesitation in staying here again.
