La Posada Del Angel

We stayed at La Posada del Angel in Ojen in the extremely torrid August of 2003. This unusual  elegant hotel is situated just off the main plaza in the village. There were a couple of small  restaurants and bars in the immediate vicinity.
  Stepping through the front door was like entering a different world.  The reception area was beautifully decorated yet comfortable. The  rooms are centred off a Spanish balcony which lies above and around an inner arched patio courtyard  in typical Andalusian style where tables and chairs are set out and drinks from the bar and  breakfast al fresco can be enjoyed.  How I wished I was rich enough to own it as a private house!    Each room is decorated with  a different theme -ours was darkly Out of Africa .  It had a floorstanding oscillating fan as well as a table, a chair and  a double bed while  the sparkling clean bathroom had a new shower, washbasin and lavatory.  
Next morning emerging into the outside world we found that  the weekly Saturday market with fruit and  veg and other stalls had been erected in the plaza.
The Sierras around Ojen still contain a former hunting lodge   while the beaches are about 20 minutes away by car.
We plan to return to the Posada del Angel very soon although my husband still has panic attacks about the parking.
