hotel was clean, location was great, food was good
18 November 2011
could not really fault the hotel
the only thing i would say was when we arrived to book in they said that because
we booked cheaply through yourselves our room location would be poor. however should we wish for a better located room with a view it would cost us more. this annoyed me and declined to part with any more money. the room was fine but the view, if you could call it that was the worst. our room no. was 101
The best thing about my stay was…
food and location

Another Great Holiday at La Pinta
14 November 2010
Just returned after our 5th stay at La Pinta, and found it as good as ever. Okay so the hotel is a little dated, however the location more than makes up for that. The whole place is kept spotless by the friendly, helpful staff and the choice of food is excellent. We stayed in a one-bed apartment but had half-board which is the best of both really because the kitchen is fully equipped so it is possible to self-cater lunch - we don't find it necessary after an ample breakfast! However, it is useful to have a fridge and ice box. Whilst we were there, there were plenty of sunbeds available by the pool, although we mostly choose to use the hotel steps down to the beach where the sunbeds cost 4 euro per day. The hotel is just a short walk away from the Porto Colon harbour where we like to feed the numerous coloured fish after buying a bread roll in the supermarket on the way for 25 cents - a cheap pleasure!!
We will definitely be returning to La Pinta.

Just returned from our third visit to La Pinta and, as on previous occasions, had a really enjoyable holiday. Although the hotel is a little dated, the location makes up for it - being able to walk down the steps directly onto the beach is just so convenient. All the staff are very friendly and helpful and the selection in the dining room, both for breakfast and dinner, is excellent. Despite being half board, each time we have had a 1 bedroomed apartment which is very well equipped and with comfortable beds. We shall certainly return.

We found the staff at the La Pinta all extremely helpful, we arrived just before 12 noon, expected not to be able to check in until 2.00pm but were checked in straight away. The hotel was clean throughout. The location was perfect. We had half board included and the breakfast and dinner were good with plenty of choice. The one thing we were unsure of before travelling was the parking facilities and the hotel has a private car park and we rented space for €28 for the week. There were not many children staying at the hotel the week we were there, however, the entertainment for the kids was OK with a mini disco most nights.

Booked 1 bedroom apartment half board include. Arrived aprox 11.00pm. Had advised hotel of late arrival. Evening meal of salad, cheese, ham, chicken, fresh fruit and bottle of water in room. Beakfast was typical of 3-4 star hotels. Evening meals were superb. Fish and meat were of very high standard of quality and freshness. Evening entrtainment geared to families. Guests were from many different countries. This made a pleasant change from staying in hotels monopolised by one nationality. Suitable for guests of all ages, except teenagers. Very cosmopoliton mix of guests. La Pinta in in a good position, right on the beach and near to shops and entertainment for all ages. I found the staff very polite and helpful. I can also highly recommend La Pinta for lone travellers. I will definitely be returning to this hotel again.

The LaPinta was built in the 1980s and to be honest, whilst the rooms and facilities were ood, there are many that are newer and better. The public areas are cramped compared to the newer hotels for instance. The staff were friendly and helpful, but no one seemed to speak Enlish, waiters for instance in the restaurant were almost impossible to communicate with, and whilst the pool is nice and has a great view over the beach, Marina & Atlantic, the bar seems to be closed much of the day. Far better stay at Club Olympus up the road where the poolside bar is open all day and run by Enlish people. The lifts are scarily rickety and the lugage trolleys were all chained up. Road works mean that if you arrive by taxi you will be dropped with your bags outside the hotels front grounds, with no sign of help. Overall, the place was nice, but not hueley convenient.

No way is La Pinta a 4 star hotel! I have stayed at numerous 3 star hotels of far better quality. The food was mediocre: breakfast consisted of "fruit" juices which have never seen fruit, rubbery croissants, undercooked bacon, (eggs were ok), cereals vaguely replicating the branded ones but far inferior, and a coffee machine which spits poor quality coffee. The evening meals were very hit and miss and of poor quality. Although the hotel was never full during our stay, the restaurant staff always gave the impression of being too busy to be friendly, (although the head waiter always remembered our drinks order from one night to the next.) The apartment (ground floor) was rather shabby. The addition of a new ceramic hob and oven and the recently painted walls has done little to improve the overall effect, as the stained marble floor and 'tired' bathroom needs serious attention. The towels have seen better days; thin and sometimes stained. The apartment was cleaned daily though. The pool and surrounding area however is very pleasant, and access to the beach and shops convenient. Although the hotel served the purpose for us (a last minute holiday to get some sun,) I think we could do better elsewhere for quality.

The La Pinta Hotel is a very well run hotel, staff very helpful we had our room changed to one on the front on request, rooms cleaned and towels changed every day. Meals were average but ok, poolside sunbeds were unchained at 9 o'clock and there were none left by 5 past and then everyone went in to breakfast so it was bedlam around 9 o'clock, we ended up having breakfast at 9.30 and evening meal at 9.00 to avoid the stampeding kids, there is a staircase from the hotel to the beach which was the alternative for sunbathing. On the whole a vey nice hotel but too many kids for us but great for families.

We enjoyed our 2 week stay from the minute we arrived! There was a bottle of champagne on ice waiting in our room which we drank on our oversized balcony overlooking the pool and marina. We were on a half board basis and the food was fantastic. The maid service was second to none, our sheets and towels were changed daily - unheard of on previous holidays. The pool area was very pleasant and relaxing. We are booking again for early next year and can't wait! Thank you Alpha for the best hol we have had in years. Al & Wen

We had a really enjoyable holiday at the Hotel La Pinta. It was perfectly situated, overlooking the beach. We had an apartment with a terrace leading on to the pool area which was very convenient. Our 3 year old son loved the seperate children's pool and the mini disco at nights. Our apartment was clean and contained everything that we needed. The breakfast and evening meal were lovely. There was plenty of variety although there wasn't a separate selection of food for children. This wasn't a problem for us. The hotel had its own staircase leading on to the promenade in front of the beach so we didn't have to leave the hotel via the reception which was on the 4th floor. Overall we loved it!!!
