Think twice before booking the Kristal

26 October 2012
We had stayed at the Kristal before and were looking forward to our stay but unfortunately it was not as good as previously. A group of young people were shouting and banging doors at 2.30am the first night and we put this down to excitment but the 2nd night they were moving out in the middle of the night and the noise of suitcases in the corridors would have awakened the heaviest of sleepers. The food was repetitive in that we had pork and fish every night. Pork burgers, pork chops, bolegnese made with pork and rice with pork sausages was our daily menu. We won't be in a hurry to stay there again sorry to say.
The best thing about my stay was…
Sorry I can't think of anything

Not the best hotel ive stayed in.

20 November 2011
To begin with on arrival, my partner and I were given a twin room rather than a double which we booked. It even said on our itinerary, double room. And when I booked online there was a choice of double room or twin room. The reception staffs response was that two separate beds was considered a double. When in the room the curtain rail for the shower was hanging off and rusty and broken. There was no way of stopping the water from the shower leaving the bathroom and going out onto the bedroom floor, so we had to mop up with our towels every time we used the shower. I didnt find the room particularly clean either... the cleaning lady left sand on our floor... Also when we mopped up the shower water with our towels theyd become very dirty as if the floor did not get mopped. The bar closed very early and on one evening, my partner and I ended up sitting outside in the street on the floor with a couple in their seventies because the hotel would not permit us to finish our drinks in the bar or on the terrace... I was very disappointed that the elderly couple were forced to stit in the street on the floor, so were they. It was not very late either, perhaps10 pm.
The best thing about my stay was…
I had a room to stay in for my holiday. And the reception staff were forgiving(They said they had nearly called the police)when my partner who is numerically dyslexic had been banging and shouting at the wrong room, because he was mistaken on the room number.

One and a half week's stay.

18 November 2011
Was in Spain to learn some Scuba Diving. Needed a cheap place to stay. The hotel was basic, but clean and well serviced. It was right in the centre of Torremolinos, which was convenient. The underground train station is a minute away and allows for easy access to the Airport, the city of Malaga and other destinations along the Costa del Sol.

cheap & cheerful

23 October 2011
This hotel was the cheapest by far, its really close to torremolins train station (which didn't have any lifts not good with a buggy & 3 cases!) and right in the centre so close to everything. Also there is a lift down to the beach @ only 50 cents each it was a bargain and saved our legs trekking up and down the hill every day. The hotel itself was clean and tidy, rooms were very basic and we didn't have any air con which would have come in handy as it was over 25 oC every day! No balcony and our room was situated just above a busy restaurant which got quite noisy at nightime - but to be expected in the city centre, and didn't stop our 2yr old daughter sleeping. Food ok, got better as the week went on, buffet style, slighty disappointed it was only continental breakfast, there's only so many cheese & ham toasties you can have!! But overall you get what you pay for and for a cheap holiday i would stay there again.
The best thing about my stay was…
weather & loation

Cheap and Cheerful

29 September 2011
Friendly Staff
Friendly Staff Nice food Clean rooms
This is a basic hotel. No pool, no balconies, no entertainment. However I must say it's very good value for money, and in a very good location. The rooms are kept clean and the meals were nice. Probably not suitable for vegetarians. I went there with my mate, and we had no complaints. We knew before we got there that there was no pool or balcony. If you want a pool and sun loungers, go somewhere else. There's a TV in the room which is effectively free (you need to leave a €10 deposit for the remote which you get back). Not many english channels though.
The best thing about my stay was…
The staff are friendly and the hotel is clean. Only €1.50 for a bottle San Miguel

Great value for money, excellent location

15 July 2011
Great hotel, rooms were very spacious, immaculate, great decor, central location. A few downsides though: extremely noisy, although I don't think this was the hotels fault, it was the guests and the hotel has no pool which was annoying when it was 34 degrees!
The best thing about my stay was…
The price! A proper bargain!

Not bad at all!

05 July 2011
As a couple we wanted a cheap place to shower and sleep while we were in Torremolinos, and were pleaseantly surprised by the Kristal hotel. It was brilliantly clean and very close to the train station. The staff were friendly at all times and wouldnt hesitate in booking there again unless we were taking the children only due to the lack of a pool and the distance from the beach, but we had a great stay there.

Great value budget hotel

28 June 2011
Just returned from a weeks stay at this Hotel, on arrival we were a bit concerned as we were directed along a back alleyway however when we got to the hotel we were pleasantly surprised. The hotel was basic but very clean and was the first budget hotel we've stayed in that had air conditioning. Granted there was no view from the room, balcony or swimming pool however it is right in the centre of Torremolinos a couple of minutes from the train and bus stops and only 10 minute walk downhill to the beach, there is a lift if needed that will take you up or down the hill. Breakfast was a continental style which suited us as we're not in to fry ups. I can't comment on the evening meal as we ate out at nights. The main complaint about this hotel seems to have been noisy students, however although we did see students the hotel was always very quiet when we returned so much so I felt the need to tip toe along the corridor. We had a great holiday and would definately return to this hotel.
The best thing about my stay was…
The price we paid

Excellent value for money and very central.

29 May 2011
If you're going to Torremolinos on a budget but still want quality then the Kristal Hotel is hard to beat. This is my fifth time at the Kristal. Great location, right in the heart of town. 2 minute walk from the train station, less than a 1 minute walk to the bus stop. The beach is a 10/15 minute walk down through shops and bars. The rooms are large and very clean, serviced daily, food was great, buffet style, the staff were very friendly and helpful, the hotel bar prices were cheaper than most of the bars in the town!
The best thing about my stay was…
Central location and very good value for money.

You get what you pay for.

11 May 2011
After searching for hours and on many different sites, i found this hotel to be the cheapest in the area. I have stayed there a couple of times a few years back as i run a yearly pub trip to the costa del sol. All the people who came agreed it is exactly what you pay for. A bed, a toilet and a shower. It's basic but very clean with friendly enough staff. It is smack bang in the middle of the town of torremolinos which has all the nessecities, bars cafes restaurants and shops, all by the dozens. The beach is about 10-15 minute walk away although the walk back is a little tiring up a long and winding hill, but i suppose it's handy for burning off that fry up! It does have a nice little roof terrace with sun loungers or tables and chairs that has the sun shining on it all day. Perfect for someone who doesn't want to hang around the hotel for too long and just wants the basics.
The best thing about my stay was…
Clean and cheap
