Kette Hotel occupies a priveledged location in the heart of Venice, just a short distance from the Teatro La Fenice and the Piazza San Marco. This 16th Century property was transformed into a hotel in the early 1900’s and was recently renovated to maintain its Venetian charm yet offer all of the modern amenities required by the modern day traveller. Venice was a secret destination for our honeymoon, and the Hotel kette was an excellent choice of hotel. Prior to our arrival the staff were extremely helpful in arranging a private transfer from the airport and flowers in the room. On arrival at the hotel the welcome could not have been more friendly, and what a lovely hotel it is. Tucked away down an alley just a very short walk from St Marks Square, you leave the noise and bustle of the crowds behind. The rooms are not overly large but are well equipped, very clean and comfortable. The staff are all very friendly and cannot do enough for you. Ok the breakfast room may be a little cramped but we did not find this detracted from our stay. If ever we return to Venice,which I hope we do, we will stayat the Kette again.
To find the hotel, stand in St Marks with your back to the basilica and bell tower. Leave the square via the arch in the far left hand corner. Sarry straight on until you come to the bridge at the San Moise gondola station. Cross this bridge and take the second turn to your right. The hotel is 50yds down this alley on the right.
