kazimierz 11

the hotel on the whole was nicer than we expected as the photos do not do it justice, however we had a room on the first floor facing the street which is one of the busiest streets in cracow, it also had 2 tram lines and trams were running from 5am to 11pm approx so if you dont want much sleep great ! no air conditioning so you had to close the windows to keep the noise of the trams to a minimum but then you would overheat. still good value for money though.

The price is right.

Just back from this well placed hotel. I agree with most of the comments in other reviews. The bedding referred to in 18th April review is a material like seersucker which was used to make clothes when I was a girl. Not that bad really and we found the beds very comfortable. We had a room at the front of the hotel but as we were prewarned of the trams we took earplugs and the inconvenience was insignificant. The old jewish square was super with great restaurants and nice vibes. We had a great night in one place where a trio were playing traditional Jewish music. It all added to our different experience of another culture. Dont miss the rest of Krakow and the trips to auswitz and salt mines. If we did return to Krakow then we would stay at Kazimierz 11. It is definitely only 3 stars reflecting the facilities but everything oferred is great.

Visit to Krakow
27 April 2008
Good location, near to Jewish quarter and not too far from town centre. We had a room at the front and even though the traffic noise was noticable after a full day of sightseeing nothing would stop you from having a good nights sleep. The room was comfortable and the breakfast was substantial. The staff where very friendly and helpful. I would recommend this hotel as value for money.

In it for the money
14 April 2008
The previous reviews of Kazimierz II are pretty accurate and do give a fair representation of this generally pleasant hotel. To clarify, the location is excellent; 2 mins walk from the main part of the Jewish district, which I personally enjoyed most as bars and restaurants were excellent and less touristy than those in the main square / old town. Also, the walk to the main square was still only about 20 mins so no need for buses or trams on this trip. The hotel itself is clean and tidy and the staff friendly. I haven't given it more than 3 stars however, because the room itself was very basic (although bathroom nice). Also the pillows and quilt were covered in a material which I would compare to sandpaper - I think we lost a layer of skin between us during our 5 night stay! Our room was away from the street so noise from the trams was minimal but I could see that being a problem if on street side. On the whole, a good hotel for the money and good as a base but not one that you would want to spend much time in (there's so much to do in Krakow there's no need to anyway). I had a great trip and would recommend this hotel to others.

Try it and see!

I stayed at the Kazimeraz 11 for 4 nights and it was a really enjoyable stay. The hotel was extremley clean and tidy and the staff were very helpfull. The location was in the Jewish quater about a ten minute walk into the old town square. There are lots of coffee shops and restraunts nearby and plenty of places to change your money. There is a Taxi rank right outside the hotel door, and the rates are cheap enough but make sure to agree a price before taking the trip. The journey to the airport by Taxi is 60 - 70 PLZ. If I was to make any criticism of the location it would be that the rooms on the front of the hotel, we had one, are quite noisy as the trams pass by every few minutes. You can get used to it and it did not spoil my time in Kracow. There is lots to see and do in Kracow and the place is great to explore - make sure you look in every archway in the old town as every archway hides a pub or shop or eating place, most people speak English and are extremley helpfull and friendly. Thi was my second trip to Krakow and I will be going back, and yes I would stay at the same hotel again.

Had a very good stay here for the money very noisy both back and front trams at front and trains at back. no bar as was said in previous review. food good rooms spotless and I asked for a second duvet because of the normal size and got one no problem. Staff some of the best I have ever encountered any where. Overall excellant value for money but the noise is a big problem in my opinion otherwise 5 stars. Thank you once again Alpharooms I have never had a problem when booking through yourselves.

Kazimierz 11 Krakow May 2007

Great Hotel for visiting Kracow, 60 plus bars within 20 mins staggering distance, Hotel staff friendly and helpful, good English spoken, Breakfast decent enough for what your paying, Tourist attractions are within walking distance If you go to Auswich haggle with the taxi drivers we got them down to 250 PLN for all 4 of us ( about 12 GBP each, not bad for a full day chauffer driven. Salt mines are worth a visit but loads of steps. Our only critisism of the hotel is the rooms at the front are subjected to loud traffic noise from 5 AM even though they are double glazed. Ask for a room at the rear of hotel if you are a light sleeper or alternatively drink loads of Wodka, That helps !! John, Barb, Laura and Kate

Hotel excellent value for the money. Only been built 12 months so everything is brand new. About 15 minute walk to main centre of Krakow couldnt fault location either. Stayed in a front bedroom on the first floor. Room very clean, beds comfortable, excellent shower. Reception staff very obliging. Only one fault, hotel is located on a busy main road and is very noisy with the trams so suggest if you are a light sleeper to ask for one of the rooms at the back of the hotel. Having said that would definitely go back to this hotel!!
Thank you for an enjoyable stay in Krakow.

What can I say? really good stay. Well worth the money. Modern hotel with a lovely big room, large bathroom also and all spotlessly clean. Breakfast included which was varied from cereal to cooked sausage and egg. Close to town square, approx ten minutes walk, really easy to find and walkable from train/bus station. Only downside is if you are a light sleeper then the trams can be noisy, would recommend this none the less!

Hotel in an excellent central location for all sights. situated in Jewish quarter & 15 mins walk from main square. 25 mins walk from railway station. Our room overlooked main road at front but was not noisy. We even had a balcony. Huge selection at breakfast, cold buffet & sausage & eggs. Staff very helpful. Everything was new & refurbished so all was spotlessly clean. Ideal for our 4 night break, would definitely recommend it

Located across the road from the Jewish quarter and a 15 minute walk into the main square although the trams stopped outside the hotel. Please note - It's quicker to walk!!! Our room was clean and well decorated, and had a large walk in shower with plenty of hot water. The quilt took some getting use to (very thin and not very large)but when in Rome (or Krakow)......... Reception staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast room was spacious with an adequate breakfast available. Choice of cereal, cold buffet and sausage and scrambled egg. Ideal hotel to be used as a base - book it you wont be disappointed.

I spent 2 nights in this hotel from nov 4th. I thought it was very good value for money, I walked from the station to hotel it took about 30 minutes but was easy to find, great location about 15 minutes walk to main square. The hotel was lovely the staff were friendly and helpfull. Lots of variety for breakfast, the room was very nice everything you need. As a solo traveller I don't always get the best rooms in hotels, so was impressed with this one. I want to visit krakow again and would most definately stay in this hotel again. I highly recommend it.
