Kanika Olympic Lagoon Resort

Ive stayed in a number of hotels in cyprus, and this is probably my favourite. I have stayed in higher class hotels - for example the aeneas (careful how you pronounce that) which is next door - its a 5 star, is absolutley beatiful, but lacks something... The Olympic lagoon however is all that, and something more - I think its certainly worthy of the 4 star "plus" rating that you will see in many books and sites. The pools are lovley and clean, and the people there are all freindly - sometimes on holiday i almost feel out numbered by other languages but here there are many english speaking staff, and other holiday makers. The resort offers great daytime entertainment if you wish - water arobics, water polo, vollyball, you name it - The reps are really great with children, and adults (who seem to act like children on holiday!). However, this isnt a noisey resport - i worried that entertainment meant business and noise - If you dont want to take part in activities, you dont have to, you wont get dragged in, and your relax time wont get spoilt either as its a big resort so you can get away. The resort is close to ayia napa, but only by taxi - I also worried that this meant it would be noisey, loud and a bit "rough" with drunken people, but is the total opposite. Nissi Beach (which is where olympic lagoon is located) is a gorgeous stretch of road with unlimited numbers of restaurants to try in the evenings. If you want to go to ayia napa for the night life - which is certainly a good night if you want one, its only about 3 or 4 cyprus pounds in a taxi (5 or 10 mins) and your right in the middle of it all. This will be my 5th time to cyprus, which is my 4th time to this side of the island - I love it and im going back to this resort in a couple of months time... Im already counting down the days!! In terms of food, there was enough to keep me going (we went half board) and i am a really picky eater - if I managed, trust me - you can! There is plenty for everyone to chose from, whatever your fancy. There were themed nights which were interesting, but I think the bbq nights were best!! I could write for hours, but ill stop! - Give it a go! :)

hotel a good hours walk away from the square at ayia napa but only costs 4 cp if thats where you want to go ! lovely pool complex - friendly staff - rooms with inland view are about 500 yards away from busy main road - pool view rooms are very nice but you do have to pay extra - food good quality but not vast selection - 5 mins walk from nearest beach which is a lovely cove very clean water - entertainment more 3 star than 4 star - consisted of holiday rep doing various quizzes - we did go at the very start of the season - if i were to go back to cyprus  would stay at this hotel again
