Jury's Inn - Review May 2008

27 May 2008
The rooms are pleasant, though the road can be noisy so try and get a high one. Transport networks excellent for non car owners, breakfast is good and staff are amiable. There is no room service, but a bar menu runs most of the day.

Comfortable bed- pleasant room but had to keep curtains closed because there were offices opposite and it was too dark without having lights on - messy soap dispenser in bathroom
objected to having to pay for newspapers - wouldn't take tokens already paid for - breakfast very good - no parking at hotel but have arrangement with shopping centre opposite - get 50% discount - messy though because there is a dual carriage way and have to use a subway to access the car park directly across the road from hotel.

We stayed in the standard double room which is a good size with the general things you need (TV, some Sky channels, hairdryer, tea/coffee tray etc).  I've stayed here before and the hotel itself is really nice, really good value for money.  Good transportation into Central London with East Croydon train station just round the corner and lots of things in Croydon itself to keep you occupied (shopping centre, bars, pubs, cinema complex just to name a few).

My only downside; the staff could be nicer - the first time we visited them they seemed quite rude (reception staff that is) and this time they were again not the friendliest of people, but I must admit they were more helpful.

Full English Breakfast is great (beans, scrambled/fried eggs, hash browns, toast) as is the continental section (fruit salad, croissants, yoghurts, selection of cereals etc).

If you are wanting to visit Central London this is a really good priced (Nice) hotel that will satisfy your needs - as I said before it's easy to travel into and out of London from here, so this is a good, cheap but great base. :-)

I would stay here again.
