Jardin Caleta

The hotel itself was very clean and although we only stayed one night before our flight home we were still given a courtesy room to get ready. The hotel was quite noisy in the night and the rooms do not have any airconditioning or even ceiling fans so it was very hot in the night and I did have a bad nights sleep. Kids enjoyed the pool though and the area is brilliant with lots of nice fish restaurants.

We stayed at this hotel 1-15th August 2005, It was very busy for the first week of August as it was La Caletas festival for 4 days so there was lots of things going on near the hotel ...local beach party till 4am .. dancing fireworks etc and the second week the hotel was full of Spanish having their annual holidays.  It was very hot throughout the 2 weeks and we really could have done with air conditioning, however the apartment we had was spacious with 2 balconies very clean the cleaners came 5 days a week and left fluffy towels. The first week we stayed half board and the food was fantastic the best we have ever had in a hotel, there was so much choice for breakfast and evening meals, the salad bar was particularly good and so was the one barbeque night. Our second week we decided to stay self catering so we could go out to eat locally, the facilities in our room for cooking were too basic with only 2 hot plates and a fridge, we had no kettle or toaster as you had to pay a deposit for them and really it wasn’t worth it for the supermarket next door supplied everything you could need for breakfast,  croissants for about 20p etc  The fish restaurants in La Caleta village were always full but we found quite expensive. We would stay in this hotel again but not in August as it was quite noisy as it was full and we really did need air con. There was a taxi rank and bus stop right outside hotel so it was easy to get to Los Cristianos las americas etc and very cheap and frequent bus service so lots of places to visit although car hire is very reasonable and would really recommend you see this lovely island. The hotel animation staff were brill.  There was entertainment every day and night including water polo, football quizzes etc and the usual parrot shows discos karaoke etc in evening. The best tip I would give anyone going to this hotel is to ask for a front sea view room as the rooms at the back face the mountains and have a pool view which can be noisy in the day as the noise from the pool echoes as its enclosed in the centre of the hotel. All in all we had a really good holiday at this hotel but wouldn’t go again in August.
