The Crowne Plaza Hotel resort is well positioned for both the airport and Narma Bay, both less than 10 minutes drive. Alpharooms arranged private transfer and once through customs there was their representative with the welcome board and waiting van. The hotel is international standard and for the look of the hotel, room size and resort facilities deserve its 5 start rating. The staff were pleasant and helpful, given that the hotel had mainly Russian and Italian guests communication in English was still excellent. We stayed all-inclusive but this is where the niggles start, the hotel has 4 bars situated across the resort, plus there are another 4 franchised restaurant/bars available. But, getting a drink (soft or alcoholic) is far from simple as different bars operate at different times – with minimal overlap. So there you are having a relaxing drink as the sun goes down by the beach, fancy another? Well then you need to pack up and traverse the resort to the disco (?) for a drink, half an hour later you can go to the main restaurant (until 10.30) but then its back to the disco for last orders (11.00). I’m not opposed to walking around the resort but it starts to grind after a while – how difficult is it to have more than one bar open at once? Don’t go thinking that all inclusive is international standard either, it isn’t, it’s beer, wine and soft drinks – in annoyingly small plastic cups during the day – only, spirits are eye-wateringly expensive, and if you fancy some bubbly bring £160 with you! Overall though the quality of the accommodation wins through and it passes the acid test question ‘would you go back?’
