Review of 'IBIS PARIS BERTHIER PORTE DE CLICHY'

The hotel is very close to the Metro making easy access to all areas of Paris.  One receptionist at the hotel was helpful with directions as to how to use the Metro, for which we were very grateful as the Metro can be difficult to negotiate.  I say one receptionist as the others that we encountered were not so helpful!  Our room was clean and pleasant inside but very small and it was quite noisy as it overlooked the back of the hotel, therefore, no pleasant view.  For us, the view was not a problem as our room was only for falling into bed after a long day of sightseeing.  However, the noise from below our window was very annoying when we were trying to rest.  Food at the hotel was good.  Breakfast is buffet with the usual breads etc.  During the evening the hotel's cafe served delicious pasta at a very reasonable price with pleasant and helpful waiters.  The second restaurant was a bit of a let down, although the food was okay and reasonably priced.  The Piano bar was a nice area to relax, although only one member of the bar staff was a real happy person, the rest either forced a smile or simply didn't bother.  All in all the hotel is good base to work from and we enjoyed our stay in Paris.

We stayed here in March of this year, & loved it! It's a great value, rooms are a nice size, very clean, close to the Metro, desk clerks personable, and a substantial breakfast included...more than the usual continental stuff, which included ham, cereals, yogurt, and fruits, along with coffee and various juices.  The hotel is on a big hill, so it offers wonderful views of Paris...we asked for a room with a view of the Eiffel Tower, & it was a stunning sight at night.  One drawback for travelers who do not like to walk....often taxi's will only drop you at the bottom of the hill, so you have to walk up the hill to get back.  No problem if you're physically fit...but it might be inconvenient if otherwise.  I love the Monmarte area & to me,this is more of the "real" Paris, instead of the usual tourist areas.  We were out at all hours, shopping, & going out in the evenings with friends, & always felt safe here.

We stayed in the Ibis as we were running the Paris Marathon and it was the cheapest hotel I could find! To my surprise everything was immaculate, the staff were very helpful and friendly. The rooms were of a good size and comfortable. The breakfast was buffet style but to a very high standard. This hotel was in a very central area and very easy to find! We had a very enjoyable stay and would stay there next time we visited Paris.
