Great stay - brilliant staff and excellent for the children
13 August 2012
We are a family with children aged 6 and 3 and what a fantastic holiday we have had! The staff - Iberostar and Thomas Cook could not do enough for us and always with a smile.
We had no issue with the location, short walk to the beach or into town. We booked all inclusive but ate out a couple of times. Food is pretty average but for what we paid, we were more than happy. Great drinks selections and great entertyainment, nice rooms and we would be happy to go again.
The best thing about my stay was…

We were over the moon with the Vell Mari, it was clean, lovely gardens, large pool, great entertainment and facilities and most of all amazing food - nothing repetitive and such great choice for every meal.
The kids club was great my 5 and 7 year old were thoroughly entertained as were we in the evenings.
The fitness instructor was superb and the classes very enjoyable. We will be back !

Clean, pleasant and relaxed stay
13 October 2011
I'm a sole traveller that just went to the Vell Mari for a couple of days to wind down, so I can't really comment on the 'features for the family' - however, I did have a very nice time regardless. It was quiet, maids sorted out the room every day and were very friendly, and the food was good (I only had breakfast). If you're self-catering, you're definitely better off avoiding the hotel restaurant entirely - it's quite pricey otherwise.
The only real downsides I noted was that it's about 15 minutes walk to the beach and shops, which may sway some people.
It's also worth noting that this is a very popular destination for German folk... so if you're English looking to chat with other people, you best brush off your phrase book!
Finally, I'd like to note that I went mid-October, so I imagine it'd be a fair bit busier during the peak hours. As it stands for me, it was relatively quiet.
The best thing about my stay was…
Relaxed, friendly atmosphere

Good First Family Holiday
29 September 2011
The hotel was very clean and tidy, staff were friendly you definitely need a one bed apartment if you have children for the extra space. Food was good but could be a bit repetitive. On the whole we had a good time. A few things to bear in mind you had to leave a ten euro deposit for each pool towel, this was being looked into when we left. you had to hire a kettle for twelve euro a week ( we thought being in an apartment with kitchenette this would be standard), also a few people were ill after eating prawns butthis was ebing looked into. The hotel is a bit further out from the town so bear this in mind if your wanting to go out in the evening, however during the day the hotel provided a free shuttle bus which was great. Evening entertainment was good and catered for everyone
The best thing about my stay was…
The people we met

We booked this particular hotel because it was near my daughter who is working in Majorca and for the fact it was not a sky scraper hotel. The apartments are only three floors high and all set in blocks as described in beautiful gardens. Having requested a quiet room with not too many steps we were pleasantly suprised to find we had just what we wanted.. A ground floor, one bedroom apartment with air conditioning away from any noise. It also had a nice patio with table and chairs to sit outside at the back.
The swimming pool was very crowded but then it was August and the sun beds were side by side so you needed to be very friendly with your neighbour!
Also can't understand why parents with two or more children need to reserve about five sun beds for the whole day when their children spend 90% of the time in the pool. It might leave some beds for others.
We only booked bed and breakfast as we knew we would eat out most nights and this was good although the same every day. When we enquired about dinner it would have been 25.60 euros each and meals were much cheaper and better down by the coast.
The staff were all friendly.
There were no complaints about the cleaning of the room but we would liked to have had our sheets changed on the bed at least once during the week due to the heat.
A shop a little nearer would be good but reception had bottles of water to buy when you asked.
The best thing about my stay was…
Main Receptionist very helpful, room just what we wanted.

Even er tussenuit naar Mallorca

Heerlijk rustig hotelcomplex wat zowel geschikt is voor kinderen als voor volwassenen. Het eten is zeer goed en het peroneel behulpzaam. Kwaliteit- prijsverhouding is uitstekend. Ik ga er zeker nog eens naar toe.

20 June 2010
We've just returned from 12 nights at the Iberostar Vell Mari on an all-inclusive basis, the staff work hard and made our holiday very enjoyable. Our childrendid not want to leave the complex because there was so much for them to do. Maxi-club ran from 10 am till 12pm and 3 pm till 5 pm everyday except Saturday (for kids 8-12yrs) activities included darts, water polo, football, dodgeball, horse riding, volley ball, shooting, various board games when it rained, one game a day was a medal game that was presented at night entertaiment by Smiley the dog. The mini club for children aged 4 to 7 years ran for similar times. The food was very good and well presented and offered choices. Drinks were available from 10am-12mid. The apartment was clean but in need of modernisation, air con/fan very weak, maids cleaned them everyday. Had to pay for ice-creams during the day, 1 Euro. Adult entertainment ok but not great. Mini disco very good and our children took part in the talent show, pirate show and also our eldest got to be Smiley on the last evening which was great. Not many Brits there but all nationalties (mainly Germans, Italians and Scandanavians) seemed to mix well.

20 July 2008
Spent two weeks all inclusive at Vell Mari. Rooms clean & comfortable, food excellent, entertainment staff work hard and are entertaining!, pool good, and grounds are very well maintained. Twenty minute walk to sea front, beach and small shopping area. Very impressed and would return & recommend. There were however very few British children so Fraser (9) and Beth (6) could not really fully enjoy the mini & maxi clubs although they did attend and have a good time. Possibly only a problem before English schools break up.

06 September 2007
Ive just returned from 12 days at Vell Mari all-inclusive, and I have to say its been the best holiday we have had up to date, the staff are all so friendly, hard working, and very hygienic. The reception is open 24/7 and willing to help no matter how big or small the problem is, they offer tourist information, although we found it hard to get the kids to leave the complex because there was so much for them to do, my kids asked if they could try the maxi-club (club for kids 7-12yrs) with a view if they didnt like it they wouldnt go back, once they met the entertainers well that was it they went twice a day every day appart from saturdays when the entertainers had a well earned rest. They did water polo, horse riding, volley ball, shooting, various board games, even took part in one of their shows to name a few, all with the opportunity to win an award recieved at showtime on an evening. The food was well presented and very variable and always offered something even the fussiest child would eat, the pool bar offered a large range of non-alcoholic/alcololic drinks from 10am-12mid which having kids I found we were ready for our beds by then. The apartment was clean and cosy, and maids cleaned them everyday. They even seemed genuinely dissapionted when you were on your last day and tried to make it the best day ever. Big thanx to all involved we loved every minute *****

Review of 'APARTIBEROSTAR VELL MARI'
26 August 2005
We came back from 12 days at the Iberostar Vell Mari yesterday and were pleasantly suprised. We were a bit apprehensive as this was our first time booking a holiday direct over the net but it was fabby. The complex was fantastically maintained, the grounds/gardens were superb. The staff were helpful, the whole place was clean and the rooms, although not huge, were quite okay for a family of 4. (we didn't spend that much time in them anyway). I would recommend a ground floor apartment overlooking the grounds if you can get them as its nice to sit out and look around and the children can play in the early eve. Food and pool were great. In the height of the season though you must get up early and put out your towels as otherwise the beds have gone by 8.30/9am. Fabby would book again and through alpharooms.

Review of 'APARTIBEROSTAR VELL MARI'
11 August 2005
Just returned from a two week all inclusive holiday to the Vell Mari and can definitely recommend this hotel.
The aprtments were small but very clean and very well maintained. The restaurant offered a wide range of foods for all.
The pool was particularly large and never seemed overfull.

Review of 'APARTIBEROSTAR VELL MARI'
14 May 2005
The Iberostar Vell Mari is a beautiful place, well worthy of its four star status. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable and extremely presentable. The complex is spotlessly clean and maintained to a very high standard. The facilities are superb, and even have good disabled facilities.

We would definitely use the Vell Mari again, and will continue to use Iberostar hotels and apartments when visiting Spain and the Canaries.

Five out of Five!

Paul Hughes and Emma Roberts
