Very Good

06 July 2008
once i read the reviews on this hotel i decided to try it out. we got there at 10/11pm and we were given a room on the 2nd floor and it was a really bad room even though the room was nice , we had the room where all the delivery vans went. you have to be up before 8:30am to get the ebst beds. luckily we got a very good spot the full time we stayed (2 weeks). the breakfast in the hotel was nice same really for breakfast fry ups , toast , all sorts. for dinner the menu changed i did begin to get sick of the food , but all nice. the waiters and reception were all very nice. also the pool area is nice. the night entitaiment was good , it was it only went on till 10:30pm and then basically everyone went to bed. The beach isnit a far walk and beware of hair braiders , they persade you and also luckie luckie men they follow you everywhere. also please dontuse the computers in hotel as i did once and it is 4 euro's for half and hour , and later in the 2 weeks i found another internerrt cafe , 2 euros for 1 hour that is called planet fun. i recomend the hotel for everyone overall it was amazing.

An absolute gem

01 July 2008
We stayed in June 2008. This hotel is an absolute gem. if you don't like it here you will NEVER be satisfied. We had a room on the third floor, it was very quite, very comfortable and very clean with a great view of the beach. We arrived much earlier than we thought and the reception staff could not have been more helpful. Regarding the restaurant it was faultless with a great range of food and a good vegetarian section, again like the rest of the hotel it was very clean and tidy. Our room itself was spotless and the housekeeping staff were great yes there is an ashtray and matches but they are on the balcony !!!!! There are big signs all over the place saying it is a non smoking hotel,. The evening entertainment is much better than average. All in all a really great place to stay, we were there a week and wish it had been much longer ( and AlphaRooms werent bad either !! ) Do go there, you'll love it

Excellent Location

01 March 2008
We have just returned from our 3rd visit to this hotel and once again were not dissapointed. We were given a room on the 5th floor with amazing views over Fanube beach and the island of Gomera. The food was excellent, even better than last time, we usually eat out quite a lot but this time only ate out 4 times. We would recommend a restaurant called Crawfords recently opened at Puerto Colon, only 5 minutes walk from the hotel. The road works that plagued Torviscas last year are all finished and the area looks much better. We cant really comment on hotel entertainment as we went out every evening but I would say it is geared to the more elderly traveller from what we saw, lots of ballroom dancing in the lounge area to a man playing an organ, although other groups and a disco were advertised we never saw any sign of them, but they may have been in another area of the hotel. There is very convenient access to the beach via stairs from the pool area, so you you can be on the beach in 2 or 3 minutes. My only dissapointment with this hotel is the rooms, although quite spacious and kept very clean they really could do with a makeover, and there is a lack of space for clothes although the wardrobe is not a bad size there are no drawers for undies etc. but don't let that put you off we have been 3 times knowing what it is like and because of the convenient location, good food and general ambience of the place would highly recommend it to anyone, bearing in mind there are quite a lot of stairs and slopes in the area.

nice hotel no problems ,only bad thing was road works outside hotel and new  storm drains being laid throughout Adeje which made the area unsightly and dusty

having used this hotel for 2 seperate holidays (out of season)we have nothing but praise for presentation/cleanliness. friendleness of all staff and the food is 2nd to none. in house entertainment is also an absolute treat....location is near to the beach - yet easy walking to local shops/restaurants.bus stop outside the hotel and is just 20 mins taxi ride from surfina airport. we will be heading there again soon!

We stayed in this hotel for 10 nights in March. The location was excellent all the bars and restaurants were within easy reach and only a few steps from the beach. We always find the hotel rooms a bit of a dissapointment but they were OK apart from the tiny wardrobe which had only enough room for 1 persons clothes. Food was excellent, a great choice at every meal, although we did go out to restaurants for 5 of the 10 nights. Cant comment on the entertainment as we went out every night but didnt like the look of the area on lower ground floor where it was held. Nice pool but got a bit cramped and hard to find beds after about 11am, so most days we went to the beach, weather was fantastic wall to wall sunshine, would use the hotel again because of the very convenient location

'IBEROSTAR TORVISCAS PLAYA' A GREAT PLACE TO STAY

23 March 2006
I stayed at the Torviscas Playa and I would recomend it to everyone. From the first moment of entering the hotel to leaving sadly on the last day. Food 100% the staff 101% friendly and helpful, the staff in the restaurants 100% I am hoping to return soon for another week it was fantanstic and more like a 5* hotel than a 4*. Alpharooms cannot be beaten for price either so I would also highly recomend them. Thanks Torviscas PLaya loved my stay. The food was excelent with so many choices and a great breakfast buffet too. Thank you.

what a great hotel in an ideal location.  when we arrived we were given a refreshing drink and a choice of three rooms and selected the forth floor facing the road and a great view of the sea.  the rooms are spacious and very clean with a large balcony and you don't need any shower gel as this is supplied in a tub attached to the wall which was great as ours never lasts all week.  the restaurant is large and the food is fantastic but we found the food area very cramped with people bumping into each other, a bit scary when you have a plate full of food, but other than that no complaints.  the staff all round are very friendly and will help whenever they can, they seemed to love the small children. we would definately return to this hotel again.

Had booked this hotel on the basis of reviews that I had read and also the information from Alpharooms. I have been holidaying in Tenerife and usually stop in 4 star accomodation in and around Las Americas but found that this hotel was way lacking, the food was at best average, there was nothing of interest to do for a young teenager (internet was out of order)the rooms whilst clean were only average. Entertainment was great if you happen to be in your late 60's and like to waltz the night away. Overall my view is that it may have a 4star badge but maybe you should expect a 3star service based on my stay late feb 2006

Review of 'IBEROSTAR TORVISCAS PLAYA'

07 October 2005
My wife and I are seasoned holidaymakers who for several years have frequented Thomson Gold 4* hotels. This hotel was as good, if not better in some aspects, than all of our previous travel experiences and would highly recommend it to anyone who like us has decided to do their own thing through the internet. It was excellent all round and we would love to give it 5 stars, but there were a couple of minor negatives. The pool was 1.4m deep all round, therefore you needed to be at least 5'6" to put your feet on the bottom (My wife is only 4'11"). Although the hotel grounds lead onto the promenade the access gate is locked at night, and means a long uphill walk around the block to get back in. Other than that, 95 out of 100.

We have been to Costa Adeje before and know the locality very well, and were therefore aware of the location and position of this hotel.  It is extremely central to the beach, all public amenities and local entertainment, including its own nightly cabarets, and in a beautiful position to benefit from both the mountain range and seaviews.  The hotel maintenance was of a high standard in all public areas and our room was kept spotlessly clean throughout. The staff were courteous, friendly and helpful and a high percentage of the staff spoke English. The food was excellent, something for everyone! We would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel.

This is one of the best hotels i have ever been to. I visit twice a year, in the february and october half term.
All of the staff are very friendly and helpful and i miss them all so much!
The food is different every night but repeated each week and you get chips every night. The pool is very nice for anyone staying in the hotel. It is only a short walk away from the beach and the market which is on thursdays and saturdays. The rooms are comfortable and spacious along with the hotel itself.
I hope you enjoy reading this and it is helpful to you!
