Second visit and will return!!
03 September 2008
We stayed at the Iberostar Papagayo at the end of August on an all inclusive basis. We were really impressed with the endless choice of meals and snacks served in the restaurant or bars all day long. There is a wide choice of quality food available and a good selection of drinks are included up to 11pm. The hotel may not possess the elegance that some other hotels in Playa Blanca have but it is extremely clean, is decorated to a high standard, has friendly and helpful staff, fantastic views from the sun terrace and there is something about this hotel that allows you to feel relaxed and comfortable.
We will certainly be returning.

Top Class AGAIN!!
14 August 2008
Stayed for 11 nights at the end of July this year, in a junior suite wih a great sea view. Hotel is spotless, staff are friendly and attentive and make every effort to ensure that you enjoy your stay. We returned here(myself, wife and "bump", 6 year old son and 3year old daughter) after a great holiday at Easter 2007, in the self catering apartments. We could not get an apartment this time so opted for the suite instead.Having sampled the food at our last visit we decided that this time we would go half board and we were not disappointed. Food is excellent with a great variety daily. It is also flexible, if you feel like going out for the evening then you can take lunch instead of dinner. It is worth a walk down to the marina, about 15 mins away with some decent places to eat(Casa Roja is very good but not cheap). This hotel is not for you if you want to be in the middle of a resort with lots of bars and restaurants nearby as it is in a quiet and peaceful location.Overall a great holiday again!

Fantastic Holiday
14 July 2008
We stayed at the iberostar papagayo for two weeks June/July this year. We had a fantastic time. Facilities were excellent spotlessly clean staff were friendly and helpful. I would recommend this hotel to people of all ages. We travelled with my mother who is 77 and my son who is 15 and a great time was had by all. This hotel caters to all ages. The food was excellent with a wide variety on offer every evening. If you don't want to walk into Playa Blanca the hotel runs a free bus morning and afternoon. A taxi is only €3.50 into the centre of Playa Blanca. We enjoyed the location of the hotel it was very quiet and relaxing. Would recommend this hotel it is bordering on 5 star in our estimation.

Iberostar Papagayo - you won't be disappointed!
14 March 2008
We stayed at the Iberostar Papagayo for a week in March and were delighted to be upgraded to an apartment (apparently the hotel was fully booked). The room was lovely and it was great to have (basic) cooking facilities to make light snacks for lunch. The pools were great, kept very clean although pretty cold!! Food in the restaurant was varied and plentiful, with lots of healthy and not-so-healthy options. Our 2 year old daughter enjoyed all the fuss from the pleasant and attentive staff. We'd definitely recommend hiring a car - Lanzarote is a tiny but scenic island and it's great to have the independence to go off and do your own thing. Overall the hotel was excellent - minor gripes being the beds which weren't that comfortable, and the location which is a good 40 minute walk from Playa Blanca (but we actually enjoyed the opportunity to work off some of the food!). Enjoy!!

Great for families with younger children
25 February 2008
We booked HB with a double room for 2 adults and a 5 year old. On arrival we were upgraded to a junior suite with a sea view which was fab.
The accommodation was good, very clean, with a spacious bathroom.
All of the staff were friendly, particularly to our 5 year old son. The food was as you would expect for a hotel. There was enough choice for all of us, and there was always a freshly cooked fish and meat dish being cooked in the evenings. What was particularly good was that you could exchange an evening meal for a lunch if you wanted to go out in the evening. Also you could pay 4 euro per adult and 2 euro per child to help yourselves to the all inclusive drinks at the evening meal time.
We spent 3 days travelling the island as we had a car. On other days our son used the kids club which he thoroughly enjoyed. It was very mixed nationality, but language proves no barrier to children. We have never used clubs before, but he demanded to go and the team were very good.
We would return again and recommend this hotel for families with children under 10. I think it would probably be too quiet and limited for older children.

1st - 8th november 2007
10 November 2007
we arrived late in the evening for our stay, and were a little disappointed not to have at least a bottle of water in the room. However, the receptionist kindly gave us 2 complimentary drinks tickets which we were able to exchange for 2 small bottles of water at the bar. Tho hotel was spotlessly clean, and the staff very helpful and friendly. The choice of food we found limited in comparison to other 4* hotels that we've stayed in, but there was\allways just enough to make a decent meal. Lunchtimes were a little restrictive for food with a choice between the limited buffet at the pool bar of paying to go in to the restaurant, when a snack would have been enough. The location was perfect, with the beaches close by and both the marina and Playa Blanca within easy walking distance. A taxi from Playa Blanca was only 3 euros. The rooftop solarium was perfect, with extensive views and all day sunshine, meaning that it was unnecessary to leave the hotel for the peace and tranquility of the nearby beaches. I would recommend this to anyone for a short break at this time of the year, but would guess that at peak times the pool area could become quite crowded.

Review of 'IBEROSTAR PAPAGAYO'
02 October 2006
Fantastic hotel, staff very freindly and our son, aged 6, loved the miniclub and disco. Food was very good and you could upgrade HB to all inclusive on a daily basis (14€ad 7ch) or just help yourself to wine/beer/soft drinks with evening meal for 4€. You did not wear a wristband if you upgraded daily and some people did stare when you walked away from the bars with drinks (you just had a slip of paper to show). Would definitly go back to this hotel, not too British which suited us fine.

Possibly the best value holiday hotel ever
09 March 2006
Sue and I arrived home 24 hours ago and we are still glowing with warmth towards our hosts at the Iberostar Papagayo. Our only complaint was at having to leave, although Els and Danni on reception insisted that we were leaving of our own free will and were welcome to stay on.
This is the only hotel where I have sought out the Manager to offer my appreciation. Unlimited good and varied food and drink on the days we chose to be upgraded to fully inclusive (yes you can fix that with the hotel when there); clean, comfortable rooms - and then there is the entertainment. Daytime activities (with prizes and medals)and outstanding shows led by four energetic full time entertainment staff plus guest artists.
Language was never a problem and the staff are amongst the most professional we have come across. They were always efficient and made us feel that we were their only guests. The atmosphere generated a feeling of friendship amongst all the guests - I have never been in a happier hotel anywhere.
In short an outstanding hotel in a secluded setting right by the sea. The nearest thing to being on a cruise liner complete with stateroom. You need never leave the hotel.

18 July 2005
Excellent accommodation which caters particularly well for families. The hotel was very clean and the staff friendly. Food was of a good quality but did become a little repetitive. The entertainment staff worked very hard to ensure all the kids had a memorable holiday. All inclusive was excellent value for money and we will certainly consider visiting in the future.

Very good hotel with excellent service. The pictures online doesnt do it any justice. Friendly staff...everything was good....no negative aspect of the hotel. Location is also good if you want to avoid the busy "touristy" areas......will definitely stay in an Iberostar in other countries!!!
