Lanzarote Park

15 August 2008
Just returned from a week long stay at the Lanzarote Park in Playa Blanca, we had a fantastic time, the apartment was very clean and adequate. we stayed half board and the food was excellent, plenty of choice for everyone. The hotel staff are fantastic very friendly the entertainment team work so hard as do the rest of the staff always with a smile on their faces. Its a very quiet resort so probably not for the young and lively group but we had a really enjoyable stay. Would definately go back to the same hotel and resort.

Super Holiday

03 June 2008
Lovely hotel in great location. Fairly quiet time of year to go but suited us fine. Went half board - food was excellent. Staff very helpful and a couple of minor hiccups with room were sorted promptly. The room itself was clean, spacious and with direct access to the pool and a stunning view of the sea an Fuertuventura was perfect to sit on the balcony with a glass of wine beofre dinner! Children did not try the kids club but the mini disco at night was a big hit for the 6 year old! 5 min walk to beach, 15 mins to main shopping area - a fair walk to new marina (45 min) but worth the effort. Great value holiday and we would definately use this hotel again.

Holidaying In Playa Blanca

22 December 2007
We had lovely weeks holiday at the Iberostar Hotel Playa Blanca. Being our first time in Lanzarote we were looked after very well. On our first night out, we came across a bar called Alfie Moons and were welcomed as if we were at our local pub in Blackburn. We'd found our 'local' and during our stay we were not disappointed, we were made very welcome every time we went in, which made our holiday for us. A credit to Playa Blanca. We would recommend the bar to anyone staying in Playa Blanca

Review of 'Iberostar Lanzarote Park'

06 December 2006
We always travel independently booking flights, hotels, car hire etc. separately. We have been to Lanzarote for a winter/spring break on six occasions. I have tried to book accomodation at the Lanzarote Park directly with the hotel on three previous occasions without success as they are so commited to the package holiday market that rooms only become 'available' when Thomas Cook etc. do not need their full allocation. We have just returned from a week in Playa Blanca and on this occasion were able to stay at the Lanzarote Park by booking through Alpha Rooms. This was our first stay at the hotel and we were very impressed with everything. Location is excellent. The hotel is very cleverly designed so that all rooms have a sea view. The standard of the rooms, facilities and quality of fittings in the bathroom etc. were very good. We occupied a one bedroomed apartment and were very pleased to find it had a little kitchen facility with kettle, fridge etc. We were on Bed & Breakfast terms. The breakfast was excellent with a very wide choice of food to make it interesting through the week.
We will certainly stay at this hotel again.
This is a 3 star hotel that could well be worth a higher grade. However, it is aimed at the package holiday market for people who want good value and are not looking for frills. Indeed Lanzarote is by and large a no frills place. It is a beach/seaside destination and other reviewers who think the entertainment or limited waiting staff etc. are a problem thus awarding low points to this hotel should be visiting a more sophisticated destination!

ALFIE MOONS FAMILY PUB

11 September 2006
Alfie Moons Queen Victoria Pub made our two week holiday a pleasure, the freindly service was just so hospitible we could not have asked for more. We will be returning to Lanzarote & will become regulars in Alfie Moons, you feel so at home as they have all sports & soaps being shown daily with an array of cocktails which will make your chin tickle, WE WILL BE RETURNING TO ALFIE'S*****************

Review of 'Iberostar Lanzarote Park'

25 August 2006
We stayed at the LP during August 2006. We thought for what we paid (£1000 for the two of us for two weeks self catering) the hotel was terrific. We like most holiday makers had fantastic sea views and good sized accommodation. The rooms are tastefully if simply furnished. Beds and towels etc are taken care of daily and it was a nice touch that the beds were made in a different way most days. If you are a news maniac the TV might be of use to you (Sky News and BBC world service are all that is available to watch). The self catering facilities are very basic but are adequate for fixing up a basic breakfast or simple lunch. Like most people all I am mostly interested in is a fridge for storing milk and booze and a kettle for my early morning cuppa.

When it comes to the hotel food I only tried it once but would say that if you can get half board or inclusive for a decent price you will not be disappointed. Variety was good and if you are into fresh fruit, salad and vegetables then you HAVE to eat at the hotel as most of the restaurants we ate at seemed to only serve food with meagre portions of bottled veg. Even one side salad turned out to be 100% bottled  Although hotel buffet style food always falls slightly short of good restaurant fare this was better than some 5* places I have experienced in other countries (hence me tending to go self catering these days) Many of the restaurants in Playa Blanca were very samey and few were consistently good. I only had one very good meal in two weeks (Lamb shoulder at Don Comello’s) and I had at least four bad ones. The rest varied from quite nice to OK. I like to eat and drink what the locals do if I can but you will struggle here, you may well find yourself like we did slinking shamefaced to the Irish and English bars for safe meals by your second week.

The hotel entertainment is fine for families with young kids who like Butlins style mimed singing and dancing (lets face it as tacky as these acts are if it can keep a couple of noisy pre-teens occupied for an hour or so well you enjoy a drink with your partner then they are not to be derided to much). Within easy walking distance of the hotel you will find your evening entertainment choices limited to bars that specialise in Sky sports, Karaoke or pub singers. One pub the Alfie Moons played the soaps every night (plus Big Brother and X-Factor) but they were devoid of all customers almost all of the time so I will be surprised if they a

Review of 'IBEROSTAR LANZAROTE PARK'

25 July 2005
Hotel was ok. Really lacked in atmosphere and the entertainment was pretty bad at night in the hotel. If you were wanting to have a self catering holiday and use the apts facilities you would really struggle as the cooking facilities are pretty poor. Hotel staff were nice and helpful though.
