Updated review
03 November 2008
Further to the review I posted in June 2006, I feel the need to update this. We did in fact return to the hotel and have been back at least 4 times since the last review.
The hotel has now gained it's 5th star and I'm pleased to say it is well deserved. The reception area is spectacular, the extensive, low rise grounds are immaculate and the pool areas are well maintained with lots of sun loungers. The towels provided can be changed as many times during the day as you like (the pool bars are expensive).
The food is extremely well presented, varied and of a very high standard, as a rather fussy Brit abroad I have never been disappointed in the meals.
The bedrooms have been refurbished and have flat screen TVs with some sky channels. Bathrooms are spacious and always very clean.
If you want a change of scene at night, turn right out of the hotel at the back and take a stoll to Del Duque, its lovely at night, very pretty, lovely bar looking over the sea. It's not so nice the other way, more Blackpool than anything else.
I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel, it is quite expensive but as a treat well worth it. The ambiance is lovely and worth every penny.

first of all i would like to say that i was very happy with the service provided by alpharooms.com and will not hesitate to use you again. Our check in was very smooth. public areas were lovely as were the gardens. staff were very pleasant and attentive. however, the rooms did not live up to my expectation. i have stayed in hotels in this area many times and these were by far the smallest and most basic. they are in need of upgrading. i also found the space very tight for three people. i also only ate in the restaurant one night, as the food was very mediocre again not what i'd expect from a hotel of this standard. i would not use this hotel again but would definately use alpha rooms again. also we hated the salt water pool and had to use the smaller freshwater pool

Everything about the establishment was first class from the arrival at reception to leaving the room card on our departure. The staff were first class and they would do anything for you. THe restaurant and staff were first class and the meal selection was far the best I have seen and tasted. Defenately a place to be revisited

Review of 'IBEROSTAR GRAND ANTHELIA'

The hotel was clean, & the rooms were well appointed. The food was varied and well presented with a wide selection at each meal time.
During our stay both the salt water pools were out of action which left only the smaller fresh water pool avaliable. This was obviously disappointing as was the attitude of the manegement when we asked for more information about the situation.
Whilst it was an enjoyable, relaxing stay, I would not rush back to this particular hotel. There is an abundance of 4 star hotels in this area & I would try somewhere else next time.
