Highly recommended
20 November 2007
My boyfriend and I (aged 23 and 30) stayed at Hyde Park Lane with another couple for a week in November 2007. Although the complex is not situated in the main part of Puerto Del Carmen (it's about 20 minutes' walk to the centre of town), we did not find this a problem as it's a safe route to walk and it's less than three euros for a taxi. The beach is just ten minutes away. The old town, where the majority of night clubs are, is quite a long walk (in excess of half an hour), so if you're looking for a clubbing holiday, I would go to a hotel situated nearer the old town. The bungalows are cleaned five days a week, which impressed me. They are spacious, airy and nicely decorated. The kitchen has a variety of utensils, including several pans, a two-ring hob, microwave, fridge, glasses, plates, bowls, cups, egg cups, cutlery, water jug and cooking implements. The fitted wardrobes in the bedroom are spacious and you can rent the key for the safe at a small cost. You can also rent appliances such as hairdryers, the remot control for the TV and more from reception at a very small cost. The pool area was clean and tidy and the pool bar was very reasonably priced (a large beer was 2.50E). There is a separate smoking room. Entertainment is on in the pool bar twice a week - usually a singer. All the staff, from the cleaners to the waitresses to the reception staff, were friendly, efficient and professional. I would highly recommend staying here, especially for couples and families.
