Great Holiday!

13 June 2008
I booked the Hotel Puerto Tahiche for my mum and dad. It was there 50th wedding aniversary treat and had never been to Costa Teguise before. i am pleased to say they loved it, the hotel was superb, clean and friendly, the only hiccup they had was when they first tried to check in the Hotel couldn't find their booking but things got sorted out eventually. They had a wonderful holiday and would certainly return to Puerto Tahiche, great location next to the beach. Thanks to Alpharooms as well, they are a great holiday booking company, have used them lots.

Stayed at the hotel for the second time in 3 years, not a lot as changed, but when you go back somewhere you notice things, the hotel was very good and very happy with our week stay, but an overall face lift is what this hotel needs just to brighten it all up, but the maintence of the hotel outside and the pool is very good, we went self catering so a few more items of cooking bits to let you make a meal esp if your out with a young family and just want a night in, plus the euro not very good at the moment so not getting good value for money. The weather really good and had a really chilled out week, if you want a few good places to eat, bogarts, food very tasty and good value also a really nice chinese just around the corner, turn left as you come out of the main entrance.

2nd Visit

This was our 2nd visit to these apartments, had a 1 bed apt with pool view. Apartment could do with a new bath but apart from that no problems. Staff very friendly and helpful as last year looking forward to my next visit next year.

plus and minus

29 February 2008
Just returned from one week stay here. When we arrived we were turned away and told the hotel was overbooked and we were sent to another hotel which was ghastly. After two days of complaining we did manage to get booked in. Basic rooms, but had a wonderful sea view. The cleaner only came twice while we were there (5 days), and she was in and out in two minutes flat. one day we were on the balcony and before we knew it she had gone. The food was lovely, and variety good. The entertasinment staff were excellent, three very friendly guys who mingled with everyone and worked hard to entertain us. The location in costa Teguise is the best, our view overlooking the beach was spectacular. would definately use this hotel again.

Another great holiday

06 December 2007
Just returned from a week at this hotel; yet another fantastic holiday courtesy of Alpharooms. Check in was almost effortless & we were checked in within minutes. The room was nice, with a stunning sea view from the balcony, an excellent bedroom with plenty of storage space, & a nice sized living room/kitchenette area. Everything worked perfectly. The only negative point was that the bath was a bit stained, but the shower worked perfectly & the bathroom itself was fine. The pool areas were excellent & patrolled by a life guard, & the pool bar was good too. The food was again excellent, but it was a bit disappointing for my vegetarian wife. The staff were superb. The Maitre d' was the same one from the Lanzarote Bay & he was absolutely marvellous. The maintenance staff were quick & efficient, & a faulty light bulb in our hallway was replaced immediately. The only person who wasn't constantly cheerful was the lady in the supermarket who never smiled. That being said, she was good at her job. The adult entertainment was great fun & included loads of activities. The shows in the evening were tremendous fun, & the Grease tribute which was done entirely by the entertainments staff with a couple of volunteers from the audience, was second to none. Again the entertainments staff worked really hard & ensured that all the guests had a good time. The location of the hotel couldn't be better. You literally walked out of the back door onto a stunning beach, which again was patrolled by a lifeguard. The sea was nice & warm & the beach was within a beautiful bay where you could go snorkelling, (an excellent snorkel & mask from the supermarket was 6.50 Euros!) The surrounding area is charming & the water park is apparently within walking distance, although we didn't bother because the beach & the pools were fantastic. We've been to the Canaries a fair few times now & we've always had an excellent time because the kids have been so happy. This time has been no exception & Alpharooms have done us proud again so we would have no hesitation in going back to this hotel. Next year we are thinking of trying somewhere new, but wherever we go, it will be with Alpharooms. Oh, & another thing. We never saw one cockroach whilst we were there, either alive or dead, but there was a pleasant cat & an inquisitive collared dove.

LATEST VISIT SEPT 07

14 September 2007
Just returned from our latest of many visits to Puerto Tahiche over the past ten years, yes ten years! Creatures of habit? Well maybe, I blame it on hubbies love of wind and kite surfing. Anyway I have to say that we have been disappointed this time with the cleanliness of the room. Pots and cutlery etc all needed a really good wash before use on arrival for starters. The maid like us seemed to enjoy the seaview as much as we did as we watched her a couple of days admiring the view for sometime when she was supposed to be cleaning the room next door! With this in mind it was no surpirse that we had to ask reception to send someone up to sweap and mop our appartment floor which clearly had not been done on two ocassions. We also had to request that some toilet rolls be brought for the bathroom as we had none. Then to cap it all we had cockers in the bathroom, bedroom and around the kitchen/sink and hob. We reported this and some spray for the area was brought to the room, immediately might I add. We did use it but I think we where fighting a loosing battle to be honest. From then on I had the search light out everynight checking for the little "critters" before going to bed (you ladies out there will no what I mean). Perhaps I should have drunk more San Valatine maybe I wouldn't have noticed?! All in all disappointed with the cleanlines. A real shame as we have had many many happy times at Puerto Tahiche. Are experience in the past is that it's never been flash in fact a bit basic but has always been clean and in a superb spot for the beach. Will we visit again? Well at the moment we're saying not, but who knows?

ideal location

31 July 2007
Hotel in excellent location in lovely resort of Costa Teguise. Was worried about hotel prior to arrival due to poor reviews read, however our rooms were excellent (but basic) with a lovely sea view. we self catered as we had been in teguise before and knew there were great restaurants but others in the hotel said the food was of very high quality. Hotel staff were friendly and maintenance of ongoing problems prompt. Rooms without sliding doors were a problem though as the winds would catch them and resulted in quite a few broken glass panes. These need to be replaced

2 weeks in the sun - just back 26th June 2007.

27 July 2007
To start with, we were concerned with the seemingly "bad" reviews for this resort. Upon arrival, we were greeted warmly by reception, efficient too. After negotiating the mass of sunburnt bodies on the sparse sun-beds, we found our room, apartment 227. Typical affair really, none too grand. Initially, when we checked the view, we assumed we had been given the wrong room (going solely on the price we had paid), but no, we had the correct room overlooking Las Cucharas beach and the horizon - excellent. Location - superb, you're right in the middle of everything if you want it, or you can upgrade to all inclusive and use the resort facilities, which after talking to guests who had done this, was well worth it. Room facilities - spartan. Absolutely no storage for anything, the two wardrobes were hanging apart and in the main room, only one table for eating on and one for the TV. Cleanliness - only saw cockies the day the fumigation guy attacked the drainage system with the "anti-cockie" machine, after that, not a single cockie anywhere - a very good thing for those that have been plagued with these beasts previously. Resort - average. Sunbeds are locked up until 0930 every day, so an early rise is a must if you want one. Word of caution regarding the glass (NON-SAFETY version) on the apartments that haven't been renovated to double glazing. The weather was blowing a right hoolie while we were there and we witnessed at least 4 doors smashed, one almost on top of a little girl, most caused by the maids, who don't seem too friendly, although they did do alright for cleaning and bed-changing for us at least. To sum up. A great location resort, near to all things in Costa Teguise. Maintenance, none apparent unless it's broken, so in my book, no maintenance being applied. I waited 4 days for the bed frame to be replaced, as it had previously been badly welded and had cracked again. As for the other guests, they all seemed to be enjoying things, the kids club was busy and all the kids looked happy. Pools were good, although baby pool was freezing. All in all, I would return, but don't expect the Ritz, you get what you pay for here. All inclusive worth a go next time for us, thinking about late October, or maybe Xmas, as it's meant to be jumping then, with a spectacular fireworks display. Resort itself 5/10. Holiday 8/10. Costa Teguise 9/10.

'HOTETUR PUERTO TAHICHE APARTMENTS'

20 July 2007
This is a nice, well kept family orientated complex of apartments. I'm a single dad a and went with my son. We found the apartment sufficient for our needs although a fully equiped kitchen would have been a bonus as we were self-catering. We were situated at the rear of the complex and had the most beautiful sea view. There are numerous bars and restaurants in the area, but if you can, try the Dolphin Inn and Paddys Bar (you can even have a flutter on the gee-gees). Our only critisism was the slamming of doors at night and breakfast time. If you want a quiet holiday I would suggest a villa, but as a family venue I would fully endorse the Puerto Tahiche Apartments.

On arrival reception staff very friendly and helpful. We had a 1 bedroom apartment overlooking swimming pool which was clean and had a 3 ring hob, toaster, microwave and electric kettle. Al areas of the complex are kept very clean. The bulb went in the bathroom i phoned down to reception and within 10 mins they had been to replace it (what service) Complex set in an ideal situation beach at the rear and shops, bars and restuarants right outside the front. Complex is very relaxing and would definately go back.

Review of 'HOTETUR PUERTO TAHICHE APARTMENTS'

03 January 2007
Well! On arrival, apartment allocated (self-catering) was appalling. Three adults, but there was barely enough utensils for two!!! "cooking" facilities consisted of - fridge with a microwave and kettle perched on top! plates, cups and a couple of knives forks and spoons, and that was it! nbsp; Allocated another apartment next day. Full cooking facilities. All ok, except the floor had not been swept or mopped from previous occupants, so I used one of their towels to mop floor as it was covered in dust/hair etc. Cleaner only came once in whole week! Complained twice and on departure but got no apology or explanation from reception staff (some were great, friendly, helpful and polite, others not so) As we were hardly in apartment this was not a huge problem for us. As we had changed apartment we also had two lots of towels as well as extra from reception when we requested the bedding for the fourth time, so we had plenty of clean towels, also cleaner changed the towels mid week.  On arrival at hotel they were offering half board for 43 euro's each for the week - no kidding!!! The food, for what we paid was great, plenty of choice for each meal.  I only eat fish/chicken so was well chuffed as one or tother on every day.  Loads of salads and even fresh fruit for breakfast. Staff in restaurant were very friendly and polite (and they work so hard) Christmas dinner was excellent.   Pool and area very clean and well kept. Very handy for beach, where we spent most of the time, the weather was glorious all week.  For the money the holiday cost for three adults I would definetly go back there - only in winter though as there is no air con and I guess the rooms would be unbearably hot in summer.

Christmas 2006. First impression as we entered the room, was that it needed a good refurbishment, in particular the bottom of the bath was badly stained ( black ). After a day or so, we realised that the maids did clean the rooms properly. We were expecting a few cockroaches, but actually saw none in the room. The food was very good, what impressed us most of all was the efficiency and friendliness of the staff, especially in the restuarant. We were impressed by the trouble they took over the food and display of the christmas dinner. Hotel is in a good position, close to the beach. The only negative comments were the odd compulsory rowdy families, and the entertainment in the bars was so loud, we had to get out of the hotel in the evenings to get away from it, and that's a comment from a DJ. Also the sea was warmer than the hotel pools. Overall not a hotel for couples seeking peace and quiet, but very good value for families with kids

Absolutely brilliant location - right on the beach. The apartment was a good size, very clean though basic. The staff are very helpful and always pleasant. Loads of shops and eating places on your doorstep -Henesseys pub serves great food. We arranged our transfers as well as accommodation through Alpharooms and it all went without a hitch. Great value, great holiday. We will definitely be back.

On arrival the hotel looks modern and clean. The reception staff were polite and helpful.

The first room we were given was large however unfortunately we had the neighbours from hell. The hotel gave us another room, without any fuss, this was equally good

The pool area was kept clean and there were plenty of sunbeds.

There were plenty of bars and restaurants close by.

I would definatley go again although be warned due to no air conditioning it would be too hot in the summer months.

After reading some of the reviews on this hotel I have to say I was abit worried. However after getting there I had nothing to worry about. It was fantastic. The hotel was really clean and the entertainment was fantastic for all ages. I went all inclusive and have not got a bad word to say about the food and drinks. I am going back to the same hotel next month and will book again through Alpha rooms.

Me and my boyfriend had an excellent time Costa Tequise. We've only just returned from there! We stayed at the Puerto Tahiche Hotel which was fab!  Although the room was a little basic, it was everything we needed! Though I have to add we had the most fantastic of views from our balcony!  Especially at night, we would sleep with the patio doors open and listen to the waves crashing against the rocks. What more could you ask for?!  The hotel was clean, maid service fantastic. Plenty of entertainment.  Would definitely return to the Puerto Tahiche Hotel. We miss it already!

Hotetur Puerto Tahiche was very clean, we had maid service five days a week. They offer a wide range of facilities from upgrades to bed and breakfast or halfboard to gym, sauna, massages etc. As well as the usual facilities such as pool, evening entertainment and kids clubs. The hotel staff were very helpful too. The room was a very basic studio room but does offer larger apartments but the view from the room was spectacular. We had a seaview room that overlooked the beach, what a perfect way to start your day!

My Boyfriend an I (18 and 19) have just returned from a weeks all inclusive stay at puerto tahiche and had an excellent time. all inclusive was a great choice as it meant we had all drinks - alcoholic, soft drinks, coffee etc, available 10am to 11pm. snacks are also available mid afternoon. the food was alot more than we expected for the rating including things such as squid, veal, lasagne, fry up each morning, fresh pastries, roast meats, fresh fish, burgers, sausages etc. so much to choose from and we didnt have any repeats on the main meals during our week stay!
there are two large pools at the hotel, both nice and refreshing after a while sunbathing! loads of sunbeds available - and no germans taking them early! most days we went for breakfast about 9 and then went to the pool about 10 and still had the pick of the beds!
the daytime entertainment in the hotel was good - rifle shooting, water polo, billiards etc and the evening entertainment was just as good with kids entertainment til about 8 and then things such as acrobatics, magic shows, karoke, and other different productions on for the adults.
the hotel is in the best location we could ask for, right on a lovely sandy beach, with bars and resturants inbetween! from our room we heard no loud noise from about 11 as everywhere dies down just after then.
overall i had an amazing relaxing holiday here and would recommend it to anyone who is looking for the same, many things to do but also the option to not do alot!

These apartments are very conveniently located to the main beach, and are close to some excelent restaurants and bars. The apartments are funtional and a little basic, and the 3 star rating may be a little high. However they are clean and the staff are helpful.

There are only 2 downsides to this venue -

1. the pools are very deep and anyone with children that cannot swim well may want to consider alternatives. All of the pools are over 6' deep, and there are only small areas where it is safe for non swimmers.

2. The poor sound proofing on the rooms means you will be aware of neighbours using the bathrooms and showers.

If you are looking for a good base to spend your holiday, where you are close to the beach and centre of the resort, this is a great place.

The food was excellent and plenty of choice. The staff were absoulutely brilliant, entertainment excellent. I don't know why we worried. The pools are a little cold, but i did not hear the kids complain, they kept jumping in ! It was mainly families and older people who were there when we were, so a decent nights sleep was had.Well worth the money and effort. We went A.I. , but if you went S.C. plenty of good cheap places to eat. ENJOY!!!!!!

Stayed here for 1 week in April 2006 on All Inclusive with my family kids 11 and 8.
The All Inclusive was fine but make sure that you get the same drinks as the paying customer and also make sure your cocktails look the same as everyone else. I had to see the manager as he needed to know about this.

The weather was a bit on the cool side, wind was strong.
Accomadation was basic and not that clean but spacious. Ask for a high floor as you should get the sun all day.

Pool freezing, my kids never went in and that is very strange.

Overall meals were great but if you go All Inclusive beware there are no snacks available if you miss your lunch/dinner.
Entertainment was fine but bar closes at 11pm.
Not much going on around the pool a bit to quite for us.

My studio appartment was equipped with everything I needed and was clean and fresh. A little minor maintenance was needed but nothing which affected my stay. A good sized terrace overlooked the pool area, which was well kept with some attractive planting. The variety and quality of the food in the restaurant was good, and there was an effort to provide as much fresh food as possible. Staff in the complex were helpful. As a solo traveller I didnt find the hotel bar suited me as nearly all the holiday makers were couples or families. However when I ventured out I found the resort felt very safe and that there were a number of friendly local bars. Costa Teguise beach front is attractive, clean, laid back and nearby. I think that a lone female traveller can stay in this hotel/resort in confidence of a relaxed and hassle free time.

Went there in February this year having read a few reviews and  didnt really want to go as I read some really very negative reports about dirty apts, cockroaches, and poor food. Apartment was on the top floor, overlooking the beach and the ocean. This was a fabulous view no one could wish for better. The apartment was spotlessly clean and the maid visited 5 times during the week. There was absolutely no sign of the dreaded cockroaches , and all I can say about the food is that is was the best food I've had anywhere recently, well presented and plenty of choice. Dont beleive what you read from some people. Well recommended anytime of year and will certainy be going back myself.

We have just got home from 2wks holiday in March 2006. We have holidayed in Costa Teguise for the last 10 years and this was our 1st time in Puerto Tahiche apts. Our 1 bedroom apt was very clean and comfortable. You only have the basics in the kitchen area but as we eat out all the time this was not a problem.  All the staff were friendly and helpful, the couple of minor problems we had were dealt with quickly and efficiently. As we didn't eat in the  restaurant I cannot give an opinion on the food although other guests we chatted to said the food was lovely.  We did eat in the Tropical Bar and that was very enjoyable. Puerto Tahiche is located in the centre of the resort, so everything is virtually on the doorstep. We only attended the evening entertainment in the Piano Bar once and therefore cannot pass comment although we enjoyed the entertainment (from 11.30pm) in the Brandy Well.

Review of 'HOTETUR PUERTO TAHICHE APARTMENTS'

21 October 2005
Stayed in Tahiche Apartments Oct 2005,quite a big complex more suited to families with children. Fantastic location right on beach front. Rooms are basic, but have everything you need for a week or two, we had third floor studio over looking the sea (brilliant). Would I go again-yes but out of season when there’s not so many kids.

Review of 'PUERTO TAHICHE'

Very nice hotel. The most striking feature is the location - you are in the heart of Costa Teguise with everything immediately around you (the beach, bars and restaurants) however the resort itself is very laid back and peaceful.
The rooms are very nice and clean - the maid service is very good. We had a sea view apartment - which i would recommend as the views across the sea are breathtaking.
Nice pools, loads of sunloungers and a great beach bar.
Overall - great value for money, great location and a cracking hotel.
