Great hotel with a good location
05 June 2008
This was our second time in Prague. We stayed further out last time and it was November. Great to see the city in warmer times with some glorious weather. The hotel was very reasonably priced, clean and has a great location for getting around. Next to IP Pavlova metro station and tram halt plus about a 15 minute amble into Wenceslas Square. Also very easy to walk to Vysehrad, the other castle, which was beautiful and quiet. Will certainly consider using Hotel Tyl again if/when we go back although Prague is no where near as cheap as it used to be. The exchange rate is seeing to that.

Ok place to stay
05 June 2008
Unfriendly receptionist. Very old fashioned "voucher system" was a pain. Breakfast ok, good doughnuts, worst bacon/egg ever. Rooms clean but simple. Would not go back, but was ok for a short stay on medium budget

Awesome stay
13 May 2008
Good value for money. Hotel was easy to find and only a short walk to tram/metro station. Reception and room were clean, beautifully decorated. Service was fantastic - we had our "Do not disturb" sign on and the cleaners left our supplies on the door which you dont get with some more expensive hotels. Breakfast was better than other hotels I've stayed at. Will definitely go back to this hotel again.

A great hotel with reasonable price
19 April 2008
This was the best hotel among the hotels that we stayed during our trip to European countries. Hotel Tyl has beautiful decorations, clean, friendly & helpful staff. The breakfast was super. The services were fantastic. Comparing to another hotel that we stayed in Venice (which the price was double), Hotel Tyl is far more impressive. If we'll go to Prague in the future, we'll definitely stay at this hotel again.

This hotel was such a lovely surprise to us. Reasonably priced, clean, lovely en-suite rooms that had recently been refurbished and such helpful staff. The breakfasts were fanrtastic with a great range of hot and cold food. The staff were so welcoming and were concerned that they wanted to offer us something more than the big hotels could offer. They definitely did that! It's close enough to the city centre to walk or to catch the underground which very easy and cheap, just a 1 minute walk from the hotel. I would go back here in a heart beat.

First time in Prague
15 March 2008
Read reviews on various hotels in Prague and opted for the Tyl. This was a good choice. On arrival at hotel it was spotlessly clean and impressive, staff very helpful and friendly. Room was lovely and large with lovely antique furniture. Couldn't believe how quiet the hotel was even though we were overlooking the tram route. Very convenient, not far from everything. Found a good bar for eating in the evenings, very reasonable and the food was first class, the restaurant (U Moznych) it was just around the corner from the Tyl. Although the surroundings were not pretentious, the food was 1st class and reasonable. If we go to Prague again it will certainly be the Tyl which we come back to.

Hotel was fantastic value for money. Room was lovely, large and furnished with antique italian furniture, huge double bed! Breakfast was a good selection, buffet style, but instant coffee a little disappointing. Great fitness suite with jacuzzi which could be booked for exclusive use for one hour, free of charge. However, be warned that the sauna will cost about £20 for the hour to heat up! (if you choose this facility).
Hotel location was good, near to the IP Pavlova metro station and tram links outside the hotel door.
Very friendly staff who speak reasonable english.
Would definitely use this hotel again for another short break in Prague.

second time there still as good
06 December 2007
Stayed in the hotel in 2004 just after it was renovated, returned this november and its standards are still as good. Everything clean, breakfasts par for the course, rolls cheese, ham cereal etc. More than enough to set you up for the day ahead. Easy access of trams and metro link. As for prague still as cheap in places. Max you will pay for a pint is about £2 down to about 50p. Just cause its dear doesn't mean its good it just means you are in the tourist bit. Walk a few streets away and you end up paying much cheaper. Would recommend a meal in the munincipal house (operas are held there) where you can get a good 3 course meal in oppulent surroundings for about £8. Tip - when it says the temperature is -1 , it really means it wrap up extremely well. Especially so if you have to walk home after leaving a club at 4am and all the trams have closed for the night

We walked everywhere although metro and trams just outside the hotel. Went to a mozart recital in the National Museum which was lovely sat on the stairs £12.50. Food and drink quite cheap Negative toilets are expensive anything from 25p to £1 even charge in some restaurants and department store. Would definetly go back to this hotel

Highly recommend
22 October 2007
Exceptionally clean rooms, lovely and light (though we did email ahead and ask for a room that wasn't a loft room), good plentiful continental breakfast (hams, yoghurts, ceral, cheeses, pastries etc), nice lounge area, free internet access. About 15 mins walk aout of the old town but you can do it easily. We walked every night and had no problems at all. Right on the pavlova trams top that takes you straight to the palae.

Hotel Tyl - July 07
06 August 2007
This was our second trip to Prague after staying in the Stare Mesto last October. This time we wanted to journey further afield slightly and the Hotel Tyl was ideally placed. Not only is it a five minute walk from the Museum and Wencelas Square but within a minute's walk are the metro (I P Pavlova on the red line), tram stops, a KFC, McDonalds, pizza outlet (if these are your thing) and the incredible St Ludmila church on Namesti Miru. The room was lovely with a view over the square in front of the hotel and furniture that looked like it had been removed from some ancestral home!! The reception staff were always genuinely helpful, and happy to assist. My biggest regret was not finding time to check out the free jacuzzi, etc!!! But I plan to put that right when I next visit. Highly recommended.

Great hotel, friendly staff, right beside IP Pavlova Metro & Tram stations. Rooms basic but clean & towels changed daily. So easy to navigate the city from this point.

Lovely small hotel
20 July 2007
The Hotel Tyl was clean, elegant, and well attended, with reasonable breakfasts and kind staff. The room was especially good sized and well appointed for the price, and the jacuzzi was a treat--it was my partner's and I's exclusively for an hour from the time we asked for it, and it proved a treat. The location is great--very close to the Metro, but also walkable to important sites as well.

this is a great hotel - the receptiion staff are really helpful and cheery, they gave us lots of info and directions. the jacuzzi and sauna are a real bonus after a days sightseeing. hotel is located right around the corner from metro so this another bonus - easy access to rest of city. this hotel is spotless, always clean. overall 5 out of 5.
