Hotel Sonesta St George

I stayed in the hotel for 4 nights at the beginning of May 2008. They are doing renovation work adding 3 floors to the hotel but the noise levels were fairly quiet, just had to watch for debris hitting you on the way in and out. The hotel itself was very comfortable and the staff on the main helpful. I did not enjoy being hassled by the staff outside the hotel trying to 'take me to shops or buy books for them for their studying'. Also just asking outright for tips. The pool area is very nice and relaxing and great views over the Nile.

Sonesta great visit

just back from sonesta Luxor on 8th August 2007 and once again we had a great time. Its the 3rd time there in 18 months. The staff are friendly and helpful and even more so towards the end of our stay - what more can I say about the tipping system in Egypt - it gets tiring after a few days. The building work currently ongoing was not at all disruptive but the area between the two new pontoons is in need of fixing before there is an accedent. Also I think when the current building work is complete the rest of the hotel could do with freshening up. the bedrooms and all other areas are clean but could do with a bit of a facelift.

Review of 'HOTEL SONESTA ST.GEORGE LUXOR'

We knew this hotel before arriving and they continued to supply superlative service, really comfortable accommodation and excellent additional facilities within the hotel.  For example the decking area is just wonderful for watching the Nile and enjoying the sunsets.  The gymnasium provides enough equipment to exercise your bones after tombs and temples of Luxor.  A great choice of in-house restaurants and the reception area staff cannot do enough to help you.  What more can I say, that is why we go to the Sonnesta St George whenever we are in Luxor. Oh, yes, location is not bad either!
