The service was good, and the staff really helpful. The location was good, and right on a tram line that had links to all the tubes, etc.
The hotel had loads of facilities. However, the pool was tiny, the gym non-existent, but the sauna was great, andthe breakfast good. Didn't eat in the restaurant or use the bar.
All-in-all, not a bad hotel.

Having walked Budapest for hours over 4 days, we concluded that our hotel The Radisson was in an ideal location. It gave easy access to the Opera House, St Stephens Bassilica, parliament, etc as well as some good eateries. Hotel staff were delightful, and helpful, and fortunately spoke excellent english. Pool temperature down on that advertised but after hours of walking was refreshing! Getting around was a pleasure, a most beautiful and stunning city, a true delight all round. Even managed to buy ballet tickets, what a treat and a memory that will stay a long while.

Review of 'HOTEL RADISSON SAS BEKE'
27 March 2006
Just returned from the radisson sas beke this weekend 24 to 26/3/06
The hotel itself is ideally located for visiting most of the main attractions, heroes square and the faulous schechenyi spa facility is about a ten minute walk away, and the vata utca pedestrianised shopping area is also within walking distance but would probably take a little longer to reach.
If you are not feeling that energetic there is a subway station at the end of the street that the radisson is suituated on and tickets can be purchased in the shop in the hotel reception.
We booked the rooms via alpharooms and i tried many other websites but could not better the price offered by alpha rooms.
The rooms are beautifully furnished to a very high standard and we found them to be large enough for what we wanted, the buffet breakfast is superb, there is everything you could possibly want on offer from continental fayre to english bacon and eggs, tea coffee, cereal, cold meats and cheeses, and even danish patries..
There is also a swimming pool in the basement which at first inspection doesnt look much of challenge, but to swim from one end to the next in the centre of the pool was quite difficult as there is a jet current in the water to provide resistance against your efforts.
There is also a sauna solarium and some exercise bikes that can be used.
We did not use the hotel restaurant or bar in the evening as we prefferd to venture outside the hotel and sample the local ammenities.
There is an excellent bar directly acrooss the road called budda that serves excellent thai style stir fry dishes and beer and all at a very reasonable price.
to sum things up the hotel is well located the staff are extremely helpfull and tney do speak excellent english as well. one of the doormen was actually american i think.
If i was to return to budapest i think i would probably stay a bit nearer the pedestrianised shopping area called vata utca where there semmed to be more going on in the evenings and more bars and restaurants to choose from.

Review of 'HOTEL RADISSON SAS BEKE'
13 March 2006
First thing to say is that the Radisson SAS Beke is just about ideally located within Budapest. Close to transport links, main shopping areas, bars, restaraunts, night clubs and central to all the major attractions. Only thing it lacks in this respect is a view of the river or castle.
Perhaps because of the lack of a grand vista, the Radisson manages to be elegant and reasonably priced. The interior of the hotel was attractive, the staff were cordial and always helpful, the amenities such as the pool, restaraunt and bars were excellent.
On the downside, the rooms though clean and comfortable were small. They lacked any tea or coffee making facilities and with a dismal view could be quite dreary on a dull winters day.
Overall the location compensated for the modest quality of rooms, especially in a city with so much to see, spending too much time in your room should be an offence.

Review of 'HOTEL RADISSON SAS BEKE'

My boyfriend and I booked this hotel as a mini break. We wanted somewhere to shop, sightsee, eat well and party hard! We got all of that in Budapest and all within walking distance of the hotel. In the days we walked about 45 mins to the right of the hotel and came to Margaret Island (however we went in the winter, so not too appealing as everything was dead, sure it would be beautiful though in spring and summer!) in the same amount of time you can get to the parliament buildings which are amazing and many fantastic buildings, great shopping and of course the Danube to see. Also if you walk to the left of the hotel in the day you can find a booth with all the tours you can imagine! At night time we walked about 10 mins to the left of the hotel (past the Mac Donald’s and Subway) and found some fantastic bars and restaurants (a must try is Karma and the one beginning with M across the street!) it cost us about 5000forent each for a FANTASTIC meal about £15.00 incl drinks but if you want something cheep the Mac Donald’s is about £1.40 per person for a large extra value meal and subway/pizza hut isn’t that far off!! Drinks are cheep also being about 3300forent for champagne and 1000forent per beer. We had some amazing Hungarian cocktails at about 1200forent (well worth it). The hotel food was fantastic but quite expensive being 5500forent for a main dinner course alone! Breakfast was GREAT loved it, all you can eat buffet! The staffs were fantastic, extremely helpful! The TV wasn’t English BUT for 4100forent per 24 hours you can have all the latest movie releases in English! We did look at the pool, it was very nice and warm and the lounges beside it are all equipped with service buttons! All in all great hotel well recommended and a fantastic trip as I have an engagement ring as a souvenir!!!

The Hotel is ideally situated if you are trying to explore the very centre of Budapest for shops, pubs and restaurants. It is beautifully kept, the facilities are good and the cleanliness is outstanding. Downpoints : most of the staff do not speak english and those who do seem quite aloof and unapproachable and seem to have no sense of humour at all - the house bar closes at 12 pm, which for an international Hotel within a capital City we found quite unacceptable - rooms are comfortable but on the small side.
