What our customers say
Wow!!! What an experience!!!
Nowadays I book my flights and accomodation seperately. Meaning a taxi from the airport. The taxi in this case was a Fiat Uno taking four of us to the Marhaba Salem, a thirty minute ride cost £15 about 37.5 dinar. As you are new to the country this is quite cheap but you will find out later it should only cost 20 dinar (£8.00).The reason for the sterling charge is that everybody forgets to change up to Dinar. When you get through customs, go straight to to the exchange bureau, change some money into dinar -- then get your bags.
Hotel Marhaba Salem is dated but what makes up for it is the staff. On our first walk around it looked like a bomb had hit it and a thought of a week staying there seemed a long time, what we had not realised was that a freak day long thunderstorm had hit the resort the day before causing damage. Within two days the hotel complex had been gardened and fixed up.
Tip the staff -- a hint on the sun beds, they are free, but if you tip the pool attended a dinar a bed he will save you the best beds for you the next day.
The food was ok with a good selection, again tip the waiters and there is a chance you will get a free drink.
It was a very enjoyable week, if you want a relaxing break you will get it,and it is so cheap!!! Everything is half the cost as it is in Greece or Spain. For a great experience just go!!!!!
