yet another return visit !

14 July 2008
This was a father (54)and daughter short break (22) which has become an annual event at the same time of year. The hotel is just perfect. The familiar staff shake your hand when greeting you again and the food is as good as ever. The location is ideal for transport links to Fuenguirola and Torremolinos and plenty of walking opportunities to Paloma Park and Arroya del Miel. We often take a taxi to Torremolinos and then walk back along the promenade - it may take half a day but is worthwhile. The hotel cannot be beaten for value for money. The cleanliness, variety of food, friendliness of staff, beautiful views are second to none. Alpharooms gave us the best deal and we are also booked to go again in November 08 (with my wife this time). I don't think I should say any more - too many people may want to book and then I won't be able to get in next time I go !! Our times at Las Arenas are usually January, July and November - weather always good and staff always welcoming.

We have returned from our third visit to this great hotel and as both times before it was first class. From check in to check out we had no complaints at all .The hotel is clean the staff exellent and the choice of food huge.If you cannot find something to eat from the selection provided then you are very very hard to please. Many of the staff in the dining room were there on our first visit in 2002.We highly recommend this hotel and we intend to return next yesr.

Good |Hotel

30 June 2008
Spent two weeks at the hotel. Its a very relaxed clean hotel and staff are fairly friendly. The breakfast has plenty of choice and the quality is good so its worth going for. Its a great location and their is not much walking to do to reach restaurants and bars. The nightly entertainment in the hotel is not great but you can sit outside and their is waiter service. Overall worth a visit and the area is very nice also.

My daughter and I go to Benalmadena each June. we stayed st las Arenas last year and were so impressed we booked again for June this year. We were a little apprehensive as sometimes things are not as good 2nd time around. No need at all as our stay was probably even better than last year. Room 219 this year 2nd floor overlooking the pool and castle. We were given a triple room even though there was only the 2 of us. It was huge with a fabulous bathroom. Spotlessly clean room cleaned everyday. Great selection of food which would suit even the fussiest of eaters. Mainly older people (over 60), but that is how we like our holidays rather than have loads of screaming kids running around. having said that, the few children that were there seemed to enjoy themselves. Great location, we sat outside in the bar area to watch the fireworks (not to be missed). Staff are so friendly and helpful - nothing too much bother for them. Entertainment was adequate even though aimed at perhaps the older guests. All in all we will always come to Las arenas as long as it stays as good. Will be booking for 4 of us for next June so hopefully get a room at the front. Will definately book through Alpharooms again as it was the best value for money and very easy and convenient. Can't say enough about this hotel except that if everyone keeps raving about it it will always be fully booked and we won't be able to get a room!!!!!

Good Hotel

11 June 2008
Just returned from 1 week stay at this hotel. Travelled with my partner and her son and his young family. The rooms were excellent especially the family room which was great for a couple with two small children. Everywhere was very clean and towels were changed daily. Great location very central and across the road from very nice beach. Good bus and taxi connections close by. The food was very good with excellent choice both at breakfast and dinner and the relatively small size of the hotel meant that mealtimes were unhurried and the service was very efficient. Nice bar and public areas but if I do have a complaint it is that the pool area is small and the usual towel reservation antics meant that sunbeds were impossible to come by unless you were out at 4 am. This really didn't matter as there was a great beach yards away but could be a problem if you don't like sand. Take your own beach towels as the hotel do not rent them! There was a golfing group and a hen party staying whilst we were there but we were not disturbed in any way. Would definitely stay again on the strength of this experience.

We've stayed at this hotel on numerous occasions in the past 5 years or so and look forward to another vist in the future. This place has many repeat visitors (we've seen them ourselves) and same staff too so that speaks for itself. Highly recommended.

Irish nightmare

15 April 2008
Just returned from our 3 visit to this lovely hotel. Unfortunately we had a room allocated on what must have been the noisiest floor ever. Large groups of irish holiday makers & hen weekenders. Nice people but unable to talk in less than a bellow at 1.00am and at 8.00am the next day. Also unable to close a door without an obligatory bang. Think this hotel or booking agents should not accept bookings from large groups.

REVIEW HOTEL LAS ARENAS

15 February 2008
As reviewed, this hotel is lovely and in a great location. Facing the beach and road behind leading to a lovely park and charming village of Arroyo De La Miel. We requested a balcony which was a bad idea as rooms without were much bigger, but that was a minor detail. Breakfast had great variety and lovely fresh fruit and cheeses plus lots of hot stuff. Dinner was a little cool (but then i love food piping hot!) but lots of stuff to please everyone. We ate out 2 nights out of four as we know and love a couple of restaurants around the area. Definitely would go back even though normally our preference would be self catering.

Hotel Las Arenas (GREAT)

11 February 2008
FEB 7 2008 We have stopped at this hotel last year(2007) so when we wanted a short break this year we had no hesitation in coming back again, everything was the same as we remembered, if not better. Our room No. 305 was ideal with a great view of the sea and Castilla Bil Bil. The Dining Room is very spacious with a good choice of food, with very good helpful staff. The rooms were kept clean and tidy and the reception area was very helpful. The location is excellent, with my favourite beach bar just over the road.We liked it so much we are going back in MAY with friends.

Great flight out arrived on time and were well greeted by reception staff although it would have been nice if someone had been on hand to help with luggage. Ideally situated for restaurants ,beach and bars although not too close to be noisy the hotel is small by spanish standards. The rooms were clean and adequate although we found the safe charges a little excessive. Dinner the first night was excellent and whilst parts of it were a bit repetative over the week in general it remained excellent. Most of the staff in the restaurant were very pleasant and helpful although the two men in charge appeared to be resentful that anyone was even in the restaurant let alone eating Those two are obviously well paid because they don,t get tipped very often. Nevertheless the bar staff were very obliging although during' happy hour' it would be better if they just brought one drink per person at a time instead of filling the tables with drinks that were going flat. The hotel entertainment was o.k but aimed at the older generation who made up eighty per cent of the clientele in fact on one occasion the lobby looked like a mobility scooter showroom. I am 62 and I felt quite young amongst them albeit the majority were good fun as long as you didn,t try to be first in the queue at dinner that was not nice experience. On a lighter note there was adequate underground or local free parking for hire cars and the rooms were maintained well by cleaning staff. Our departure involved an early breakfast which we were told the night before would be available in the restaurant but on arrival there we we were confronted by one of the men mentioned earlier and told there was nothing for us. He did after some persuasion agree to allow us in but it was too much trouble to switch on the toasters and we had to make do with bread and jam or cheese. The management really should speak to this guy about his attitude. On the whole we genuinely enjoyed our stay at the hotel notwithstanding the attitude of a couple of the staff and even after all we,ve said we have to confess we thought it was very good value for money. We wouldn,t hesitate to recommend it to others of a similar age to us and yes, we would stay there again but its not for the young ones.

Fantastico

12 November 2007
We stayed here last week for the first time, a bit apprehensive as we normally just go self catering. What an absolutely brilliant week we had here - I recommend it to anyway. Perfect location opposite beach, spotless rooms with tele, fridge and cot on request. Beds extremely comfy. The food was absolutely top notch, what a variety, the kids loved it! The staff were brilliant, really out to provide a top notch service and to make everything perfect - they had a sense of humour, not robots which was nice too. Bar area was lovely and the pool was perfect for the kids to have a splash about and felt perfectly safe about them playing - we didnt catch the entertainment as we were always out and about so cant really comment but I am already counting down the days before I can go back there. Lots of older people there but they were all polite and friendly too. Running out of superlatives - go there, you wont be sorry!

We have visited Las Arenas many times and as always it was superb.  excellent location opposite the beach with local transport outside and a secure garage which is free of charge.
Some of the staff had changed this time but were still helpful and pleasant.
The food was better this time, in fact, there was such variety that I was able to stop my husband from heading forthe local indian restaurant. A great destination and will be booking again soon through Alpharooms.

We[3Ladies 60,59 & 57] have stayed in the las arenas for the last two years, last week in october. We have had a triple room which is more like a suite, a single room and a double room with the bathroom in between, it is great. The food is really good with plenty of choices both at breakfast and evening meal. It isn't a hotel for children as there is no childrens club but there were several children in this year. The staff are very friendly and efficient, the maids came in every day cleaned and changed the towels. In does deserve the 4star which it has been given. We would certainly recommed this hotel and will probably go back sometime in the near future.

the hotel was excellent in many ways. Our room was very clean & tidy. The TV has english channels.
The food was always fresh & always a wide variety of choice.

My father, who stayed at the hotel at the same time as us, has various dietary requirements which the hotel staff were more than happy to help with. He had his own specific food prepared for him at every meal. This was one of my fathers greatest worrys, and as a result of their willingness to help he was able to enjoy his holiday to the full.

The evening entertainment was always enjoyable.

The facilities, swimming pool, table tennis, darts etc, were readily available & in good condition.

We stayed at the Las Arenas for eight nights in August 2006. The hotel was very clean, the food was of a good standard and the staff were friendly and helpful. We booked a room for three which included a good third bed and not a 'makeshift' extra bed, the room was airconditioned and included a balcony and room safe. The position of the hotel was good, the beach was across the road, the bus stops were close to the hotel. I would recommend this hotel to anyone consdering a holiday in Benalmadena.

Review of 'HOTEL LAS ARENAS'

01 August 2006
We stayed in the Las Arenas last September, first week was rather busy because of Spanish Holidays, but the second was much more comfortable. We were given a room on the side to start with but it was too high and we were then changed to a room on the front.  We live on a main road at home so coped well with the noise, but if you're not used to noise then give it a miss.  The food was plentiful and the staff were fantastic.  Especially the gay waiter, couldn't wait to be entertained by him at meal times. He was such good company without being in your face.  Staff very helpful and hotel spotlessly clean.  Lovely frontage, you could just sit, have a nice drink and watch the world go by.  Also convenient for visiting other places, buses right outside.  The park at the back of the hotel was out of this world, full of roaming animals and quite a cool place to wander.
Would definitely return, in fact, have booked again for this September and cannot wait to get there. 9/10

Review of 'HOTEL LAS ARENAS'

31 May 2006
Firstly Location - is excellant with access to promenade, shops, beach, park and bus stops all close at hand.

Staff at the hotel gave first class service and were very courteous, we had a slight hiccup with booking dates for 2 members of our party and the manager was very efficient in sorting this with Alpha Rooms.

Service in the restaurant was brilliant as was the food available on the buffet - I'm not a meat eater and was well served each day with the variety of fish and cheeses available.

Our room was very spacious and cleaned and serviced every day - there was a problem with noise in the early hours and once reported by several guests to management, who did actually take our complaint on board, it did not re-occur.

The Lounge and Bar area is very pleasant and would be even nicer if there were a few more waiters/waitresses available to take orders - this area was our only criticism of Las Arenas.  The evening entertainment was varied and ranged from very professional Flamengo Dance groups to the mediocre dance/mime acts.  The musical entertainment was slightly biased toward the Spanish guests which in turn gave entertainment watching their unique dance style.

The Hotel has a frequently changing guest list - sometimes with large all male / female groups who stayed over the weekends giving some areas "Club 18-30" atmosphere which was not approved of by guests seeking a quieter time.

This was our second visit to Benaldamena and our first stay at Las Arenas which we will definitely use for future visits.

This hotel is located about 20 minutes lovely walk to the marina in Benalmadena. It is one of the cleanest i have been to. They are always cleaning. The staff are very friendly and the rooms are spacious and the food is plentyful but fairly basic. The entertainment is a not very good so i recommend going out for the evening. another point to remember is hat there is a busy coastal road running past the front of the hotel which can be very noisy so get a room to the side.
There is a park at the rear of the hotel which is about 2 minute walk up the hill. This is one of the nicest parks i have been to with lots of animals wandering about.
Overall this is a good hotel with ok food and not bad location. If we were to go to Benalmedena again, we may choose to stay a lttle closer o the marina but would not mind staying here again if we had to.

Very nice hotel, (although the echoey corridors made noises sound even louder).  The staff were very friendly, a good choice of food at meals, (I can definitely recommend staying Half-Board).  Although there are a good few English/British/Irish Bars in the vicinity, it's almost as cheap to drink in the Hotel.  It's situated in a good spot for easy walking and on the bus routes.  However, it is uphill into Arroyo and Benalmadena Pueblo, so be warned if you have walking difficulties.

We travel to Benalmadena every year (our favourite place) and we visited 'Hotel Las Arenas' on our last holiday, really liked it, and decided to stay as guests on our next visit. We expected a lot from the Hotel and we were not disappointed.

Check-in was instant even though we arrived at 11.00am. The Hotel is very welcoming with friendly courteous staff, this helps to make guests feel relaxed - so everybody's happy.

Bedroom was immaculate and well decorated. Satellite TV, mini fridge, direct dial telephone, sunny balcony with side sea view.
Bathroom is fully equiped. Glass door on bath and shower, bidet, hairdryer, lots of complimentary toiletries, soft lighting.

Restaurant is buffet style. Many choice full English Breakfast, Dinner options of Chicken, Steak, Fish, etc and many tasty local and international dishes - eat as much as you need. (Restaurant is open for 2 and a half hours for both Breakfast and dinner)

Live music and Cabaret Shows each evening after dinner in the large comfortable lounge.
The 'Las Arenas' is a superb hotel, great location, ideal for couples - and very hard to beat.

ALPHA ROOMS: This was our first time booking with Alpha Rooms. Booking was so easy, our accommodation voucher with full details was emailed within minutes. Instant, no hassle check-in with the hotel's reception staff (who were expecting us) Our special requests that we made when booking were fully met.
