Review of 'HOTEL CAMPANILE TOUR EIFFEL'
27 February 2006
I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights in the middle of February. Whilst I'd been to Paris numerous times, it was the first time I'd travelled alone and stayed in a hotel there.
I'd flown to Beauvais and taken the bus transfer to Porte Maillot. From there, the hotel was very easy to find. I took Metro Line 1 from Porte Maillot to Charles de Gaulle Etoile. From there I took Line 6 to Bir Hakeim. From this station the hotel is a ten minute walk down Boulevard Grennelle, turning second right on to Rue St Charles.
On arrival the hotel staff were very pleasant and spoke to me in English. (They did initially mistake me for Italian, and spoke to me in Italian. How confused was I!)
The room itself was very clean and provided everything I needed. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom appeared to be quite new. When I was leaving it looked as though new flat screen tv's were about to be fitted.
The breakfast options were great, with a selection of breads. cereals and yoghurts. The dining area has two sections so there was plenty of room for the guests.
The guests themselves was a mixture of families and business travellers, and I guess the location of the hotel suited both types.
The Eiffel Tower itself is only a 15 walk from the hotel, and the metro station at Bir Hakeim is a line that allows you to connect with the favourite tourist spots.
There are a couple of brasseries near by the hotel as well as a small supermarket that is open until 2000 hours.
My room looked onto Rue St Charles and there was some traffic noise at night but nothing too adverse.
In conclusion, I will stay in this hotel again as it does offer value for money in comfortable surroundings.
